The trials that the believer faces cover a wide gamut of experiences and situations. No trial is a pleasant experience! Not all trials are the fault of the believer. However, God does have a purpose behind each and every situation that He allows to enter into our lives. How we face these multi-colored situations is extremely important. If we handle them correctly, we have the potential of passing successfully through the trial, and as well, walking away with wonderful benefits. One of the major benefits of a trial passed through properly is that of an enhanced Christian character. God has the ability to work endurance, long-suffering, hope, and love in us, the like we have never experienced before. As we keep our eyes on Christ and continually trust in the provision that has been secured through His finished work of the cross, we can be assured of receiving all kinds of substantial benefits. As Israel of old, we too will pass through the battleground of difficulty and pick up the spoils of war left behind by the defeated enemy. So be encouraged! Whatever you are passing through right now has the potential of becoming one of the greatest blessings you will ever receive.
2 Chronicles 20:25 - And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.
Hebrews 2:7
Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
Jesus was made, for a little while, to be lower than “The Angels”, and as The God Man, The Last Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45-47), He was crowned by God the Father with glory and honor, and was set over the works of God’s hands. Remember, God by Jesus, The Word of God who is God that became flesh, created EVERYTHING that was made (John 1:1-3, 14). Jesus today is upholding ALL things by the Word of His power (Hebrews 1:3), and notice the wording there, as He does not say the Power of His Word, but rather the Word of His power, which refers to God’s Word always being in the context of His Redemptive plan.
The preaching (Word) of the Cross is The power of God. The Word of God has absolutely no power for anyone without faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. The New Covenant can only be entered into through faith in His blood (Luke 22:20), as the Words of the Old Covenant could only be honored in God’s eyes if the people were beholding/trusting “In the Blood” (Exodus 24:6-8). All the works of God’s hands are found being carried out by Jesus Christ, thus Christ tells us that we can do nothing without Him (John 15:5), for He is over ALL the works of God’s hands! Trust today in that cleansing blood of Jesus Christ, and He will cleanse you of all unrighteousness.

The growing Child of God who has become a student of God’s Word will always reach a place where he has to let go of some of the traditional things he has been taught, and hopefully more and more are doing just that today in the Church, for God’s Word is far more important than our sentimental feelings for those we’ve respected in times past along our road of growth. The Truth never changes, but our minds about what that Truth is surely will at times.
You can “have known”, which refers to knowing by experience, the Way of Righteousness, and then choose to turn away from it, and notice here that God says it is His Holy Commandment that was delivered to us that can be turned away from
2 Peter 2:20-21
20 For if after they have ESCAPED the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have KNOWN the WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
The reason God uses the phrase, “The Holy Commandment” is because His Gospel is what is commanded all men to believe, and when they do, He says in Romans 6:17-18 that they have “OBEYED” that form of Doctrine from the heart that saved them from sin and made them servants of RIGHTEOUSNESS.
If you are trapped under the banner of any other name than Jesus Christ, today is the day God wants you coming out from under its control. Not tomorrow!
The control is there no matter how much you say it is not, just as the alcoholic says he can quit anytime he wants...
God is raising up an army and His army is carrying the blood stained banner of Jesus Christ!
Quit reasoning within yourself and seeing all the LOSS, but rather follow the leading of the Lord that has been there for quite some time and you will see that the GAIN far outweighs the LOSS.
Philippians 3:8
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
The Scriptures declare that our Heavenly Father is a God who answers prayer. We are repeatedly exhorted to ask and keep on asking, no matter how long the situation may last. We are to seek and keep on seeking, regardless of the extent of the silence that echoes in our souls. We are encouraged to knock and keep on knocking, even though our spiritual knuckles are scarred, and no adequate answer is forthcoming. Waiting on the Lord is never easy. At times, the Lord takes us far beyond the time frame that we expected, and still we have no answer. It is then that I am comforted by the knowledge that He has never deserted me or failed me. In every circumstance, He has always come through. So, battered and bruised by the spiritual warfare I head once again to my private place of prayer. There I lay out my needs before the Lord, again. I openly declare that I am depending upon Him to do for me what I cannot do for myself. Then, as His presence fills my heart and soothes the pain of waiting, hope is once again renewed in my soul. For me, there is nothing left to do but to keep on asking and keep on believing.
Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
RENEWAL of the mind is always REturning to where the mind was made new, which was where the Believer received the mind of Christ at the Born Again experience (1 Corinthians 2:16)
Ephesians 4:23-24
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in RIGHTEOUSNESS and true holiness.
The Spirit of our mind as a Christian cannot be renewed if we do not go back THROUGH FAITH to the place it was made new, and where we put on the new man initially, which was through faith in the Cross of Christ, as that is when we were created in His RIGHTEOUSNESS and TRUE Holiness.
When our faith is in the Cross of Jesus Christ everyday, the Spirit of our minds will be renewed everyday, and we will be found putting on the new man as we are walking in and serving His RIGHTEOUSNESS.
HOLINESS and RIGHTEOUSNESS is the only avenue in which the Lord has given His people to serve Him all the days of their lives, as this is where He created them ANEW!
Luke 1:74-75
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
75 In holiness and RIGHTEOUSNESS before him, all the days of our life.
Hebrews 2:8
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
God The Father has put all things under the subjection of the feet of Jesus Christ, and all things speak here of there being nothing that is not under His subjection. Jesus Christ has power over all things in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). Though we do not see this with our physical eyes, yet the reality of it remains the same, and as the next bible verse tells us, “We see Jesus.” It is only through faith that we believe the things God has told us in His Word, for they can only be seen as they really are through faith in the blood of Jesus!
Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, as He is Creator, Redeemer and Judge of all things. He is man’s last opportunity to make it home to The One True God (John 14:6), and to be a part of the initial and eternal plan of God for men! Time is running out for those who are alive on the earth today as it did for everyone who has ever lived. Today there are around 8 billion people on the earth, and only 120 short years ago not a one of us were here, and only a short 120 years from now, not a one of us will be there. It is a rapid turnover of people, and we all have the opportunity to choose today where we will spend our forever! Faith in Jesus and His work on the Cross obtains for us the Eternal and Abundant Life Christ died to give us, while through the rejection of that Eternal Life, we will find God’s rejection of us eternally. Choose Jesus!

The believer must never take sin lightly. It is an unreasonable expectation to think that we can walk through this Christian experience without ever failing, stumbling, or giving into temptation. Christians are not sinless or perfect, but we are to be “being perfected.” Failures should not be the normal experience for the Christian. It is no longer natural for the believer to sin. Sin grieves the heart of the Christian. The indwelling Holy Spirit will quickly point out any error in our thoughts, actions or deeds. The worst thing that a believer can do is ignore the prompting of the Holy Spirit to repent or to fail to ask forgiveness for sins recently committed. Jesus died on Calvary not just to pay the penalty for our sins but to also free us from the dominion of sin. Therefore, the believer must always stay dependent upon Christ and His Finished Work of the Cross. We must receive grace through faith. Grace is the only means by which sin can be overcome. In this life you will fail, but you do not have to live a life of continued failure or to be dominated by specific sins. The way to victory over sin is through simple faith in Christ and His Work of the Cross.
Romans 6:13 - Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Psalm 85:10
Mercy and truth are met together; RIGHTEOUSNESS and peace have KISSED each other.
God’s Mercy and His Truth met together at the Cross in His Son, Jesus Christ. Only because of the Truth of the Cross can God’s wrath against us be removed through His mercy. The ONLY reason humanity is not consumed and utterly destroyed is because of God’s compassions for us.
Lamentations 3:22-24
22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. 24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
This by no means declares that God overlooked our sins, but rather that He dealt with them exclusively in the RIGHTEOUS work of His Son on the Cross. This is the ONLY place where His Mercy and Truth meet, and that RIGHTEOUSNESS and Peace kiss each other.
RIGHTEOUSNESS and Peace “KISSING” each other refers to a kindling, or the catching of fire (H5400 nâώaq; A primitive root; to catch fire: - {burn} kindle). This reveals that when one places their faith in the ONLY place where Mercy and Truth meet and God’s RIGHTEOUSNESS and Peace KISS each other, the FIRE of God will kindle the heart and catch that heart on fire, as our God is a Consuming Fire and becomes that to us through faith in the Cross alone!
Hebrews 2:9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Here we see one of two Scriptures in the New Testament that reveal what it is we will see if we are actually seeing Jesus properly. The other is Hebrews 12:2. When we see Jesus, we see that He came to taste death for every man by the Grace of God. This is a paramount Scripture for all Believers, because this reveals the ONLY avenue through which God’s Grace flows for initial Salvation AND daily Sanctification.
The Grace in which Christ tasted death for EVERY man must be tasted by all through faith in THAT same death for Salvation to be experienced by Grace, whether initially at the Born Again experience, OR the daily fruit of the Holy Spirit by Grace. This is when the Believer will say, O taste and see that the Lord is good, for Jesus taught there is no entering the Kingdom of God or even SEEING it until one is Born Again (John 3:3-5).
Psalm 34:8
O TASTE and SEE that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
The only place to Taste and to See is the only place God has given humanity to TRUST in Him, which is IN CHRIST, and that entrance into Him and daily walk with Him is through faith exclusively in the Cross of our faithful Lord Jesus Christ.

At the end of the day, will we have heard The Word of God that brings faith and gives us a larger picture of Christ and His love for us and a clear path for our mission?
If not, we either were not listening, OR God’s Word was not ministered in its context.
There is a place that the believer can go that will meet his every need. If we will but journey to the feet of Jesus, who sits at the right hand of the Father, we may begin to experience the supernatural ability of our merciful God. His blessings cannot be worked for, labored for, or earned. All that we need has already been paid for by Christ's sacrifice of Himself on the Cross of Calvary. His blessings are currently stored within the framework of “His riches in glory.” We who are in Christ Jesus are encouraged to approach His throne to obtain mercy and grace to help in our time of need. I am so thankful that His throne is not a throne of judgment, filled with criticism; a place filled with harsh statements declaring the mistakes we have made. But rather, Jesus’ throne is a throne of grace where He desires to impute righteousness and grant blessings to all who approach Him in faith. He Himself has stood on this earth and has experienced its evil, its harshness, and its wickedness. He is ready to help us in our time of need and He will freely supply grace to all those who rely upon Him. He has never turned one away.
Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 2:10
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Suffering is always terrible, no matter the type when being experienced, but because of sin, unfortunately the world is full of suffering. When we sinned in the Garden of Eden, the suffering of death began and ends in each human life in that very death brought about by our sin. For sin’s wages is ALWAYS death (Romans 6:23). Jesus had to come and pay the price for all of humanity’s sin through His own suffering on the cross. His death frees us from sin, makes us Righteous in Him, and servants of THAT very Righteousness (Romans 6:17-18, 2 Corinthians 5:21).
Because of what Christ accomplished for us in His flesh on the Cross (Hebrews 10:20), we now have THE WAY of escape from Sin, and all its guilt, fears and shame. This is why all things are FOR HIM and BY HIM, as He is the Captain of our Salvation, being that perfect Sacrificial Lamb of God through His suffering for all men (Hebrews 2:9). Make no mistake about it, sin and death have been paid for by Jesus Christ at the Cross, but if we reject Him, we must make the payment ourselves, which if paid by us, is ETERNAL damnation in the Lake of Fire. Escape today by trusting in Christ and His work on the Cross for you!

Psalm 85:10-13
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have KISSED each other.
KISSED: To catch fire: - {burn} kindle).
Wow!! When Righteousness and Peace Kissed each other at the Cross, the Fire of God fell and fills the hearts of all those who have placed their faith there and fight to keep it there alone!
The gate (v. 20) of the Lord is the only gate through which men can enter initially, and daily for Salvation and to praise the Lord biblically, as it is the same gate that brought The Son of God to this earth to be the Lamb of God for the sins of humanity as The Stone, The Rock of Ages, The Rock of our great Salvation.
It has all been the Lord’s doing, as it is His RIGHTEOUSNESS! When we look to the Cross of Jesus Christ, our eyes see the Marvellous Grace of our faithful God!
Psalm 118:19-23
19 Open to me the gates of RIGHTEOUSNESS: I will go into them, and I will praise the Lord :
20 This gate of the Lord, into which the RIGHTEOUS shall enter.
21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
23 This is the Lord's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
Before there can be a Holy Spirit led focus on God’s Word’s of His Covenant, there must be a Holy Spirit led focus on the Blood of Jesus!
Exodus 24:8
And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, BEHOLD THE BLOOD of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you CONCERNING ALL THESE WORDS.
Without faith in the Blood of Christ, there is no actual faith that God recognizes in His Words!
We March On!
There are many attacks that will be leveled against the believer who is operating in the will of God. God has designed a specific placement for each of us in the body of Christ. Once you are established in that place, there will be any number of enemies that will try to hinder you from the accomplishment of the will of God. One enemy that attacks us is distraction. We start off completely focused on what it is that God wants us to do. Then the opportunity to do something else creates a side road that can take us far away from where God intends us to be. Beware of distraction! Another enemy that attacks us as we attempt to accomplish the will of God is fear. Fear might be experienced in any number of circumstances. We can be fearful of a lack of ability, finances, the presence of enemies, or what appears to be a hopeless situation. But God has not given us the spirit of fear. Recall to mind how God led you to your current position through His Spirit and by His Word. The call to leave has to be even stronger than the original call that placed you where you are. If it is not, stay on the wall!
Nehemiah 6:3 - And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?
Hebrews 2:11
For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Jesus asks His Father in prayer to sanctify His followers as He is about to sanctify Himself at the Cross (John 17:17-19). He says in His prayer that we are sanctified by His Word and His Word is Truth (John 17:17), and the word sanctified refers to two things, of which are the initial born again experience when we as Believers were sanctified (set apart) and made Righteous and Holy in Christ, AND learning HOW to possess our vessels in sanctification and honor in daily experience (1 Thessalonians 4:4).
Jesus is not ashamed to call all of those who have, and continue to believe upon Him, His family. He is not ashamed to call us Brothers and Sisters, or to be known as our elder Brother. He is the only One who can sanctify anyone, and He does that exclusively through the avenue through which He was sanctified Himself, which was Him laying His Life down for the forgiveness of our sins at the Cross.
Hebrews 10:29
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted THE BLOOD OF THE COVENANT WHEREWITH HE WAS SANCTIFIED, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Trust in that Life giving blood of Jesus today for all the Grace you will ever need, for it will not come through any other avenue.
