Bread Crumbs “A Season of Peace” December 18

As Christmas approaches, the thoughts of all men have the potential to be turned toward the true meaning of Christmas. That is, the truth of the coming of the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. I choose to observe the Christmas season to remind myself that there was a chosen day and time that God sent His only begotten Son, to live and die for the redemption of all humanity. Getting to know Jesus Christ personally has been the greatest source of peace that my heart and mind has ever known. With all the hatred, the killings, the confusion, and the drama that surrounds our lives and even our country, I am certainly glad that I know the Prince of peace. I honestly am not sure what lies in store for America, but I am very sure that when we commit our lives to Christ, He becomes the One who is in charge of our safety, our well-being, and our peace. As we learn to trust and depend upon Him, we can experience a perfect peace that calms the heart and mind, even in these tumultuous times. Trust and depend on Christ Jesus today and experience a season of peace that will extend far beyond the date of December 25th.

Isaiah 26:3 - Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Now that you are saved, you should ask the Lord to baptize you with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4).

While it is certainly true the Holy Spirit came into your heart and life the moment of your Salvation, still, He now wishes to endure you with power from on high. Consequently, Jesus told all of His followers immediately before His Ascension, that they should "wait for the Promise of the Father" (Acts 1:4). He was speaking of being "Baptized with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 1:5).

You must understand that there is a great difference in being "born of the Spirit" than being " Baptized with the Spirit." They are two different works altogether.

To be "born of the Spirit" is that which took place at your conversion, as the Holy Spirit brought you to Christ and performed the work of regeneration within your heart and life. To be "Baptized with the Spirit" is in order that you may have Power with God (Acts 1:8). Every Believer should ask the Lord to fill them with the Holy Spirit, and expect to receive (Luke 11:13).

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 4:5
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

“IN THIS PLACE” refers to the place Christ did the work for us by condemning The Sin Nature in His own flesh (Romans 8:3), which was at the Cross! There He made the New and Living Way for us into the Rest of God (Hebrews 10:20). Jesus Christ through death became the DOOR, and opened the DOOR for all of humanity to enter into the Rest of God. No one enters into the Rest of God, which is Eternal Life In Christ if they are attempting to work their way in, for if it is by works, then it is not by Grace (Romans 11:6, 2 Timothy 1:9).

Are you experiencing the Rest of God today? Through faith in the Work of Christ at Calvary you can be found Resting in His Finished Work by Faith. Remember that all biblical Faith is an act of the Holy Spirit carrying out the will of God in and through our lives when we are trusting in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Trusting in the Cross of Christ is our believing with the heart unto His Righteous work there (Romans 10:10), which is us identifying ourselves as being crucified with Him, and Christ living in us, and now because of that work we are living by His Faith in which He loved us and gave Himself for us to to be able to Rest in Him (Galatians 2:20).

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 4:6
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

“Seeing” therefore refers to us being awakened to realize that we have an opportunity today to enter into the Rest of God made possible through faith in Christ and His atoning Sacrifice for our sins. Just like Israel rejected Christ and we as Gentiles are being offered the opportunity to be grafted into the True Vine (Romans 11:19) through faith in Christ. Unbelief is the only avenue of rejection of this rest, but one of the most deceitful thoughts man can have is that he can work his way into this Rest.

Jesus is the Rest of God and declared Himself to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life, which all refers to that Eternal Rest God offers humanity through His work in Christ on the Cross. Men’s works outside of the work of the Holy Spirit in and through them are ALL only a denial of God’s work at Calvary. The Rest of God is offered exclusively from His Finished work to those who believe in what He did in Christ and declared finished from the Cross.

The man in the gutter has no offering to give but yet his Soul hangs over Hell in desperate need of the Hope that only the Gospel can bring. Who will go after the one who wears the smell of skid row? Not many, so we hear Christ saying to us; The Harvest is great but the laborers are few. "Pray you therefore the Lord of the Harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His Harvest” Mat 9:38. Right now, today Lord, move us with compassion for the lost and help us to reach those who sit in darkness, so they too may hear the Message of the Cross and see great Light.

Bread Crumbs “There is Christmas in the Cross” December 19

For most people the celebration of Christmas is a time filled with joy, family gatherings, the giving of gifts, and many happy and wonderful memories. And so it should be! But life has a way of sneaking in and stealing the emotional joy that Christmas time might bring. I have spent Christmas alone, without family, without loved ones. I know what it is like to be limited financially and not be able to purchase gifts for those you love. I have experienced the loss of loved ones or family and have experienced the grief over the Christmas experiences that will never happen again. But the true meaning of Christmas is not found in a forlorn stable outside of Bethlehem, but on a hill outside of Jerusalem. This is where the Son of God, who came to the earth to die for our sins, sacrificed His life for all of mankind. Now, whosoever will may give their heart to Christ, and no matter their situation, they will find the joy and contentment that only peace with God can bring. You will always find the true meaning of Christmas when you consider what the Christ Child did for us on the Cross! You will always find the true meaning of Christmas in the Cross.

Luke 2:14 - Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Bread Crumbs “According to Your Word” December 20

One of the greatest statements ever made by a human being was made by Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus Christ. When the angel Gabriel appeared to her and told her that she would become pregnant in a supernatural way, she at first questioned, “How?” When told that her pregnancy would produce the promised Messiah, the one that had been promised for thousands of years, she readily accepted that miracle and that responsibility. What most do not understand is that Mary and Joseph, though legally married, were in a time of examination. The traditions of the Jews demanded that this time of testing be accomplished prior to the consummation of their physical relationship. If the woman was found pregnant during the time of assessment she was to be taken out and stoned. At the very least, her husband would divorce her and her reputation would be forever marred. But to her credit, despite the threat of death or the destruction of her reputation, Mary was willing to do the bidding of the Lord. She agreed to be impregnated by the Holy Spirit, to have Christ placed inside her, and to bring Him forth for the benefit of the whole world. No matter what the cost! Are we willing to do the same today?

Luke 1:38 - And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 4:7
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Christians should be making sure they are in proper fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ and their Heavenly Father, which is exclusively through faith in the Cross of Christ 2000 years ago, and anyone who has not been Born Again needs to believe upon Jesus Christ at this very moment for the forgiveness of their sins which He provided at the Cross. This is the meeting, communing and entrance place into the Kingdom, and the Church age of 2000 years is almost over. At any moment the Church will be going home. Those who’ve either never entered or those who have turned away from God’s Way of Righteousness (2 Peter 2:21) are those who’ve hardened their hearts by not living according to God’s Word THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST and His atoning Sacrifice!

We are continually seeing in this portion of Scripture God referring our attention to a “certain place” and now a “certain day”, and all for our wake up call. NO it is not just to get in a local Church somewhere, but so that we would get IN The Faith, which is repenting for trusting in all the fads which men have brought into the Church that do not point us to the Cross, nor do they take the place of the Holy Spirit who works EXCLUSIVELY according to the Law of the New Covenant (Psalm 33:4, Romans 8:2), which is faith in the Cross. Again, TODAY is your day of Salvation!

Bread Crumbs “Desperation and Revelation” December 21

Why is it true that desperation precedes revelation? When the course of our everyday life is moving along without emergency, we oftentimes fail to seek God as we ought. But when a dire circumstance raises its head, whenever there is a threatening storm on the horizon, or when we experience a “pressing need,” that is when we finally look to God. Oh Saint of God, this ought not to be so! We ought to be desperate for God every single hour of every single day. We should live with the constant recognition that without Him we can do nothing. Without His assistance, His guidance, His grace, we are helpless! That does not mean that we should live in a constant state of despair or have a negative attitude towards life in general. It means that the child of God must learn how to walk by faith! It definitely means that being desperate is that honest moment when we look to God in a state of absolute dependence. Then He, seeing our need, full of compassion and mercy, is always gracious and will answer our heartfelt cry. Whenever we become desperately dependent, He reveals the required answer. So stay desperate for Him!

John 15:5 I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 4:8
For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

“For if Jesus”, which is referring to Joshua of the Old Testament, would/could have given them rest, the Lord would not have had to again after that time speak of “Another Day” of Rest being offered. The Rest of God can only be entered into through faith in the work of Christ at Calvary, for there the work began and was finished before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:20, Revelation 13:8), yet manifest for us all on that hill called Calvary (Titus 2:11, Hebrews 2:9).

There is no spiritual rest from works unless we are resting from the work of Jesus Christ through faith in His work that was finished and declared finished from the Cross. Tired and worn out from the attempts to get to God or to please Him? Surrender to Christ and His Finished work at the Cross where He died for you because He loves you, and your faith allows you to become crucified with Him (Galatians 2:20), buried with Him and resurrected with Him to newness of Life! You can Live and Rest in the Love of God today IF you fight to keep your faith in the place God revealed His Love for and to you (1 John 4:9-10).

Wherever the Church takes the Cross of Christ seriously, it can expect to encounter hostility, but it must also expect the Power of God to be unleashed and great things to happen as well. "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following" Mark16:20. These are the Bible Days and God is moving where the Word of the Cross is the exclusive message and the people are determined to know nothing else!! GLORY!! Clinging to the Cross and going on with Jesus!! 1Cor.1:18

Bread Crumbs “A Time of Drought” December 22

Every now and then the Christian will face a spiritual drought. It may last for simply a day or it may be an extended amount of time. At times it can be very frustrating, especially when we do not understand why we are encountering this “dry time.” It may be true that we have not been paying attention to our spiritual lives as we ought. Our prayer life may have been practically nonexistent, and our personal Bible reading has dwindled down to little or nothing. At other times we may have been attending to the Christian disciplines but yet God remains silent. This is where the exhortation to “walk by faith and not by sight” must be thoroughly embraced. We can know, based upon the promises of God's Word, that a move of His Spirit is sure to come. Just one tremendous moving of the Holy Spirit in a soul can bring the spiritual drought to an end. We should always make ourselves available and position ourselves to receive from God by paying proper attention to prayer and Bible reading. But we may always rest assured that God's Spirit, who dwells within, will rise up and attend to our spiritual thirst. Keep believing and the drought will be sure to come to the promised conclusion.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 4:9
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

The Rest that remains for the people who are the people of God, is the Rest from their own works just as God did on the seventh day (Hebrews 4:4), in the One who did the work for us at the Cross and now rests beside our Heavenly Father’s Right Hand in Heaven! Are you resting in that Rest? Are you trusting in the only work God will invite you into His Rest through? There is only one place of Rest God offers and that is the Rest that comes from accepting the ONLY WORK He rewards with Rest! Faith always Rests in the Finished work of Christ or it is work of our own hands and not biblical Faith.

I’m not only asking have you ever believed, but are you trusting in that work of Christ at the Cross TODAY for the Grace of God you need for TODAY? Are you believing and trusting in that Christ was Crucified, not only for your forgiveness of sins that you’ve committed, but also to break the power of sin’s dominion over your life (Romans 6:14)? This is why Jesus taught a DAILY/TODAY denial of SELF to be able to take up our Cross to be able to follow Him (Luke 9:23, 14:27). There is no such thing in God’s eyes as a denial of SELF unless the power of the Cross is the result! Jesus was Crucified for you, but you were crucified with Him through your faith! Only Believe!!

God’s thoughts are His plans

He simply carries out His thoughts

God never has a new thought because if He did, that would mean that yesterday there was something He didn’t know!

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts/plans that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Isaiah 55:8-9
8 For my thoughts/plans are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts/plans than your thoughts.

What a mighty God we serve!

"And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time (for the Church) to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation (Rapture of the Church) nearer than when we believed" Rom.13:11… The word "sleep" means that one is unaware of what's going on around them and that sure describes most of the church right now spiritually speaking. But the alarm is sounding for those who have an ear to hear!! It's time to wake up folks and repent of all the apathy and make-believe (false object of Faith) to embrace The Truth of the Cross if you want to meet Jesus in the air!! You are either among those who are ready to fly away or you're part of the falling away! The Cross is the Gospel!!
