Hebrews 4:1
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
“Let us” is referring to you and me Child of God, and we better know this, for all that we have obtained can still be turned away from (2 Peter 2:21) if we do not hold the BEGINNING of our confidence firm unto the END (Hebrews 3:14). What was written of the people of God in the Old Testament was written for our ENSAMPLES, which means as a resemblance of that which would happen again in the church. These things we read should cause us to be found daily denying ourselves, taking up our cross and following our Savior (Luke 9:23, 14:27).
Everything that happened in all of our yesterday’s is gone. Today is a new day, we remain new as God’s new creation in Christ Jesus, and His mercies are new again today for us, IF we learn to FEAR. The word FEAR for the Christian means to have the proper biblical estimated value of God’s worth, which can only be seen by looking at who He is and what He did to Redeem us at Calvary. If the FEAR of the Lord is our strong confidence and our departing from death (Proverbs 14:26-27), then the FEAR of the Lord relates to our Faith in the Cross of Jesus Christ. The Fear of the Lord is tied to us holding His promise until the end and entering into His Eternal Rest!

The FAITH God has gifted us with works exclusively when it is placed in that which we believed that allowed Him to give it to us
2 Peter 1:1
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have OBTAINED LIKE PRECIOUS FAITH WITH US THROUGH THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD, AND OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST:
Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as GOD HAS DEALT TO EVERY MAN THE MEASURE OF FAITH.
Do not let the reality of there being FEW who have received this FAITH and even FEWER who are willing to stay where it works, which is at the Cross distract or discourage you, for Jesus said when He returns it will be as in the days of Noah.
"The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy" Rev.19:10... If it came from the Holy Spirit it will testify of Jesus and what He did on the Cross for us!
O you need to hear it again: Contention only exists among those who desire something other than The Truth. There is fellowship among those who are clinging to the Cross and harmony among the wise who have humbled themselves to Gods Narrow Way: The Cross all the time and for everything - Rom.8:32!!
Prov.13:10, "Only by pride comes contention: but with the well advised is wisdom."
The term “good tidings” means that something wonderful is being told or expressed. Think about the best news you have ever received. It might have been a Doctor’s report that informed you that what they had expected to find negative in your body was not there. How about the news that a bill you had dreaded and had no way of paying had just been eliminated? Perhaps the one you love has just agreed to spend the rest of their life with you. Good tidings! But how about the news that was announced by the angelic hosts on the night that the Son of God was born? How about the news that all your sins could be forgiven and forgotten? How about the proclamation that the chains of your slavery to sin had been broken? How about the promise of eternal life being given freely to all who would believe? No matter what other news you might have ever received, there has never been a more significant announcement than this. These were good tidings to all the inhabitants of the earth. A Savior had come! A King had been born! A Deliverer was established. And all of it was done just for you and me! Good tidings! Good tidings! Good tidings!
Luke 2:10-11 - “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. (11) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
Hebrews 4:2
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
For unto us today is the Gospel of the Redeemer preached and that same promise, here referred to as the Gospel, was preached even unto them of the Old Testament. Make sure you remember that they had faith enough to put blood on the door post in Egypt for their deliverance, but they did not CONTINUE to mix faith in their hearts with this precious Gospel offered by God and seen by all (Titus 2:11).
The Word preached is here tied to the Gospel, as it will be if it is the Holy Spirit is doing the speaking and ministering. Paul to the Colossians calls it “The Word of The Truth of The Gospel (Colossians 1:5). If it is God’s Word being held in Righteousness (Romans 1:18), which it has to be because all of His Words are IN Righteousness (Proverbs 8:8), it will always be tied to the Truth of the Gospel, for only there is His Righteousness revealed to those who are going from faith to faith (Proverbs 12:17, Romans 1:16-17). Without faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, there is no faith in God’s Word at all, for it is the blood of Jesus that is concerning all of God’s Words (Exodus 24:8, Luke 22:20).

If you haven’t noticed in God’s Word, the word, “Sin” can be used as a NOUN referring to the Sin Nature (hamartia) or it can be used as a VERB referring to “acts of sin” (hamartanō).
When you step into this knowledge in your studies, you will be able to understand so much more of God’s Word in an ever increasing Light.
16 times in Romans Chapter 6 the word “Sin” is used, but only once is it used as a VERB in verse 15, while the other 15 times it is used as a NOUN, The Sin Nature.
Romans 6:14
For sin (The Sin Nature) SHALL NOT HAVE DOMINION OVER YOU: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Remember that it is not the acts of sin that hold us in bondage, but rather the nature of sin (The Sin Nature). When one’s faith is in the Cross of Jesus Christ, the dominion of that nature is dormant, but when we are trusting in ANYTHING other, it is revived (Romans 7:9).
When they want us to be quiet, they say we need to be more humble, like they are. When they want us to compromise The Truth, they say we need to be more loving, like they are. When we are determined to stand for the Only Truth That God Works In, which is the Cross, they say we need to be more tolerant, like they are. But I have no desire to be like they are. They are distractors that have been planted among us to hinder the work of God. Paul would say this in the matter; “They are such who serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own selves; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple” Rom.16:18. Satan works greatly through the likes of these to draw people away from The Truth into a false unity. Don't fall for it!! These will say they are following the teachings of Paul but they would not be able to tolerate him either if he was here.
I have posted this many times and still think often of the words of Christ and how they surely apply to the day and time in which we presently live: Mat.24:5 and Mar.13:6 both declare the words of Jesus saying “For MANY shall come in My Name, saying, I am Christ (can also be rendered “I am of Christ”) and shall deceive MANY.” In Luke 21:8 Jesus also said “Take heed that you be not deceived; for MANY shall come in My Name, saying (I am of Christ), and the time draws near (that time is now and just before the Rapture of His Church): go you not therefore after them.” The Lord is speaking plainly and clearly to His Church today saying that MANY will arise in the final hour of the Church Age and the time in which we live giving the appearance that they preach the Gospel but they are deceivers. As always, God will have a remnant (a few) that will turn away from these and refuse to be influenced by the swarm of seducers who desire to move us from the Cross (Col.1:23). The light that these think they have is actually darkness (Luke11:35), they are deceived and they go about to deceive many. They will even rise up from within the Church to deceive! Take heed, we must remain Determined (1Cor.2:2) during this time of great deception and falling away! Endure the hardships, by the Grace of God, that are associated with standing for The Truth (2Tim.2:1-4) and labor to bring in the Harvest of those that have an ear to hear The Truth! Clinging to the Cross, turning from everything else, and going on with Jesus!!

Emmanuel - the name means God with us. Aren’t you glad that it does not mean God against us. Surely that is what we deserve, each and every one of us. As the scripture states, “There is none good, no not one.” You would think that God in heaven would be inalterably opposed to the creation that denied Him, rejected Him, and declared Him inadequate and inconsequential. But instead of turning His face in anger towards His hopeless beleaguered creation, the God of all the universe choose to send His only Begotten Son to pay the price to rescue man from his active disobedience, rebellion, and insubordination. I’m so glad that He sent Emmanuel - God with us, to eliminate our penalties earned, and to pave a way, so undeserved, back to the Father. No wonder angels sang and shouted on the day that He was born in that manger so long ago. Yes, He did come! And He did live! And He did die for the sins of all men! He did rise again and ascend unto His Father in heaven! And He did send back His Holy Spirit to live in all who will simply believe! Truly we rejoice today for He is God in us, revealed in us. We call His name, Emmanuel!
John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
I can tell you what's going to happen in the days ahead based on Gods Word: “All that will LIVE Godly in Christ Jesus (through Faith in the Cross) shall suffer persecution. But evil men (those who claim to be Christian but seek to silence those who contend for The Faith and warn of the apostate church) and seducers shall wax (grow) worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." (2Tim.3:12-13) All those who have their Faith truly anchored in the Cross will endure (bear the pain) by the Grace of God and march through these troubled times (2Tim.2:1-4), and one day soon on a day just like today, Jesus will return to gather up those who have fought the good fight to "remain" in The Faith! Glory!!! What a day that will be!! Clinging to the Cross, turning from everything else, and going on with Jesus!!
Hebrews 4:3
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
All those who teach that one must work their way into Christ are only denying Him in their works and eliminating themselves from the Way into Christ (Titus 1:16). Always remember that if the works are In Christ Jesus and we are God’s workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), then there are no works outside of Christ, but they are only found once we are In Him. Being In Christ takes place exclusively through one’s faith in Christ’s work on the cross for the forgiveness of their sins, for one’s faith IN Christ’s death allows the Holy Spirit to baptize them into His death (Romans 6:3).
The works of God for our salvation were finished from the foundation of the world, but yet Jesus still had to come and carry out the work to be manifest on the Cross for all of humanity (1 Peter 1:20). One only has to believe upon Jesus Christ to enter into the Rest of God, but this faith is FAR more than what the Church has made it to be for centuries. Faith is a verb, it is an action word, and it always works, but not on our own terms, but according to faith in the Cross of Christ in the Light of God’s Word. Come back to the Cross, for it is the only place one can rest from his works and find the benefits from Christ’s work.

Biblical Faith is ALWAYS an act of the Holy Spirit carrying out the will of God in and through our lives as we are trusting in the Sacrifice of Christ!
Outside of this reality is WHY the Church has been crippled and paralyzed for centuries, and only found pretending instead of contending for Biblical Faith!
Old Noah was a preacher of Righteousness, and the world hated him because his message would not change!
They said he was just too narrow minded, but He remained determined to know nothing but the Promise and the Warning of avoiding the Promise!
He and his family rose above on the very thing that caused the destruction of the entire world
The world is headed for destruction like never before, but those who are IN CHRIST JESUS, will rise above as on eagles wings to the very place their affection has been all along!
If it is a bondage or a resistance to follow the leading of The Lord in our lives, we will never overcome either until the Lord overcomes us.
His process of overcoming us and every hindering thing in our lives is through faith in the One who nailed everything contrary to us at the Cross!
(Colossians 2:14)
This is the very reason Jesus taught a daily cross, for SELF has to be overcome daily to be able to follow Christ!
(Luke 9:23)
A genuine relationship with someone else normally begins with one act of kindness, followed by another, then another, then another. In this present life relationships with other human beings is the most challenging drama that we will ever encounter. The fall has made man a creature of self-interest and self-love. What matters most to us is us. To allow or to invite another human being into our private sphere of self, demands sacrifice. I have to give up some of the time that I spend thinking about myself and I have to spend it thinking about others. This does not come naturally to fallen man. Neither does it come naturally or easily to the born-again Christian. We are instructed to love others as much as we love ourselves. We are told to do onto others as we would that men do unto us. Relationships demand that we listen to and consider someone else's opinion. Relationships demand an ongoing process of “give and take.” To genuinely love someone regardless of what they can or cannot add to you, is the kind of covenant love that God expresses towards us. Only by His grace will we ever be able to express covenant love to one another. Relationships are work!
1 Samuel 18:3 - Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
Hebrews 4:4
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
It is an amazing reality and worth considering at all times, that we as believers IN Jesus Christ, are about to step into the seventh day rest with our Lord and Savior, reigning with Him for 1000 years! Oh what a promise for those who hold their confidence and the rejoicing of hope firm unto the end. God rested from His works on the seventh Day, and Christ came and declared the work “Finished” from the Cross!
If that is where our faith remains, there will be oil in our lamps when He calls for us and we will hear Him and will follow Him home! It is all based on one’s believing in Christ and His work at Calvary as to their being with Him for all eternity, and as well their daily path of victory even today! All of humanity is either trusting in God’s Finished Work manifest at Calvary, or they are in an attempt to work themselves to where they want to be. Our works eliminate us from God by denying His work in Christ (Titus 1:16), but all those who HAVE AND ARE trusting in Christ and His atoning work on the Cross are about to enter the Rest of God! Oh, look to the wondrous Savior and His work on the Cross and learn how it can be applied to your life TODAY!

The first Adam had a COMMAND from God, NOT to eat from the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but he did and became a disobedient sinner.
The Last Adam, The Lord Jesus Christ was given a COMMAND to taste death on the tree (John 10:18), and carried out the COMMAND humbly and obediently (Philippians 2:8).
The Way of the Cross is the Way of Righteousness, and is a Command to be accepted by all
2 Peter 2:21
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy COMMANDMENT delivered unto them.
This is why the Apostle Paul wrote that when we trust in that Form of Doctrine that saved us and made us servants of Righteousness, “we OBEYED” that form that form of doctrine! (Romans 6:17-18)
IT IS IN BELIEVING UPON CHRIST AND HIS WORK AT THE CROSS THAT GOD SEES OBEDIENCE IN OUR HEARTS!
