But, "all nations" should mean all major nations; I would assume, Right? Not every island. Language can be a little flexible. What I am saying is: this "mystery, Babylon" has to be a city close to John's experience, because the history of the kings ,living in John's day are mentioned in Rev. 17:10-12 ,M.B. was alive and ruling in John's day, who was that? none other than Rome,.! five kings had fallen, one kings was ruling in John's day, and the 7th/8th king was yet to come, and then, there were other kings, ten, who were yet to come in the future. when will these last kings have kingdoms? I think ,not until the time of the end, so, it would be over 2000 yrs. from John;s day. right? because in their day of reign, Jesus will come to earth . I'm saying , John knew what city it was. For John , it could only be Rome. NOW, back to the 666. I think this will happen after Jesus raptures His church and destroys, at His coming, the northern king and his friends , coming against the "man of sin" the false messiah. Once, Jesus "saves" the "man of sin" from his enemies, and Jesus revealed Himself,(JESUS, reveals Himself to the world) then the "man of sin" is free to declare himself as god, the Devil enters him, and he set up the 666 for those in the area of Israel only, not for the world. the world is on fire from the Rapture destruction . the economy of the world is then destroyed by the rapture, not by the world itself. This will be the middle of the 70th week of Daniel, in my opinion. Then the wrath of God, and 3 and a half yrs ,later, Jesus returns to earth , with us, to rule this earth. then ,new Heavens and new earth. Think about this scenario. Love to all. Hoffco

For Babylon to contain the blood of all slain upon the earth she must contain the blood of all those slain from Abel murdered by his brother to the blood of the last person to be slain before Christ’s return. Considering that people have been slain world wide and through out all time one could hardly constrain Babylon by time or location. This effectively eliminates the possibility of Babylon being a literal city or a particular religion. Can any one show us a city that existed when Cain murdered Abel that still exists today? Can anyone show a false religion that existed when Cain murdered Abel that still exists today? If not then how could Babylon be a literal city or a particular religion?

I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I do suspect we would be better served looking for a system (for lack of a better term) that combines the false religions, greed, envy, need for power etc… that drives the vast majority of the world.

The Beast power, a political/military power = European Union led by a particular man.

The whor.e of Babylon is NOT the Roman Catholic church, is not the EU, is not the World Wide Council of churches and is not some rebuilt "Babylon in Iraq.

The book of revelation and various new testament writings all point to 1st century apostate Israel as the whor.e of Babylon.

It is well known that after the death and resurrection of Jesus that the disciples bore witness to the Jesus in the temple in Israel (aka BABYLON) - James was known to have been a constant witness there.

(Acts 5:42 KJV) And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

This was the voice of of the bridegroom and of the bride that would no longer be found in the temple especially after it's destruction in 70AD if not quite some time before.
