do not trust in riches- prov. 11 28.

I mean, I could debunk all these, but I think the readers will get the point.

Are you sure?

Solomon is burning in Hell right now and Enoch is in Heaven.
You think God would quote someone in Hell or someone in Heaven with Him?

Remember, He is speaking to the JEWS (who knows Solomon is in Hell and Enoch is in Heaven).

I don't think you have a clue at all what you are claiming!

Is that why we see Eshu quoting Enoch, but Enoch cannot be found; why Jude quotes Enoch and Enoch cannot be found?
There are quotations from non-inspired books and writings in the Bible. Even Paul quotes a pagan writer. But that is where it ends.

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. (Acts 17:28)

Jesus is God, Paul is not, therefore it is not even a remotely close comparison.
And if this is your argument, why waste the time, you lost before you ever began!

The absolute Fact of the matter, had the council literally been led by the Holy Spirit, mistakes like these would never have been made. I am not objecting that any Book we have in our current Canon is not meant to be where we find it. I am objecting there are more than 66 Books that should be in our Canon right now. Anything Jesus quoted should be a no brainer (but the Catholic led council also prays to MARY and to DEAD PEOPLE). The "True Canon" never had a chance!

The truth IS a Living Being Jesus said " I'm AM the Truth " There is too the" Spirit of Truth" God is the One true God.
So is 'the way' a living being too, cause Jesus 'I am the way".

Dino, I do teach and believe in the Trinity. And I also believe and teach that Jesus and His word are One. That they are One in Unity. This is a deep subject, and yet it Is one of great importance. By studying the Scripture, we can see that it does affirm and verify this unique truth regarding Jesus’ Oneness and Unity with the word of God. Let me give several examples. For instance, Jesus is the True Light (John 8:12) and the Bible is True Light (Psalm 119:105), Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6), and the Holy Bible is the Truth (John 17:17). Jesus is the Life (John 14:6; 1 John 5:12) and the Holy Scripture is Life (Phil. 2:16). Jesus knows and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart (Matt. 9:4; Luke 11:17) and the blessed King James Holy Scripture knows and discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Jesus Christ abides in the Christian (Col. 1:27), and the Holy Bible abides in the Christian (John 15:7, 1 John 2:14). Jesus is to be eaten (John 6:57) and the Bible is to be eaten (Jer. 15:16). Jesus is to be preached (Acts 5:42), and the word of God is to be preached (2 Timothy 4:2). I could go on, Dino. These are just several examples from the Holy Scriptures which prove and testify of this unique truth that Jesus and the Holy Scripture are indeed One. You cannot separate the Two of them.

Dino, while there is somewhat of a distinction between the word of God (Scripture) and the Word of God (Jesus Christ), yet it also can be shown in the Scripture that they are in fact, one and the same also. Now you may also call this "heresy" or a contradiction, but it is not. Just think about the Trinity. For interestingly enough, you actually were the first one to mention the trinity in this thread. But again, consider the incredible Doctrine of the Trinity. And consider the unique Oneness between all three members of The Trinity. While it certainly can be said that the Father is distinct From The Son and that the Holy Ghost also is distinct from them also. At the same time, we also know that it can be said of them that they are One and the Same in that they are the Same God. They are after all ONE God. Three distinct persons which all form the One True God and Lord. And so while they are distinct from each other in that they are three distinct persons. They also are One and the Same in that they are all the Same God. They are co equal and co eternal and they all possess the very same attributes. Hence, by understanding the Trinity and the relationship which all three persons of the Trinity have one with another, we also can begin to better understand the relationship which our Lord Jesus Christ has with His holy word, the blessed Scripture.

Now concerning your statement regarding the Scripture not having a human nature. You speak that which you simply do not understand. The Scripture does have both a Human nature and a Divine nature. In regard to the Scripture’s human nature: 2 Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

In regard to the Scripture’s Divine nature: 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Yes, the Scriptures were given by inspiration of God. And indeed, God did use over 40 men to pen down His holy and divine words. And yet, there is also evidence in the Scripture that the Scripture was in existence EVEN BEFORE any words of the Scripture were penned down. Which would affirm the Divine Nature of Scripture. That it has always existed even before time was created.
The word of God, the bible, has no own nature. The bible expresses the will of God in a readable way. It is a tool for that you need the Holy Spirit for to understand.

  • Books included. The Catholic Bible is composed of the 46 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament. Old Testament. Of these books, Tobit, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, parts of Esther and parts of Daniel are deuterocanonical, and are found in the Bibles of Eastern Christianity.

umm

I would definitely give weight to Paul's words

Paul was personally incorporated into the small club of Apostles...by Jesus Himself. there is no argument about that and why would you think so? there is nothing in scripture to indicate that we decide which words are more important than others save possibly the actual gospel itself

after skimming through this thread and reading some posts thoroughly, my reaction is a kind of 'yikes ' , not that anyone cares...still though

anyone is free to read whatever they want I would think...included in the Bible or not...not a hill to die on

God will lead some one way and others another it would seem...but the most important thing is to follow Christ...and we can find Him for sure in the Bible as it stands...however, the big thing to note there, is that Jesus IS alive and we should and we had better...find Him outside of what we accept as 'canon'

I know that scares some an awful lot, but if you are familiar with the word, you should, by now, have some discernment and be able to swim in what is sometimes murky waters...test the spirits...God does not lie and the Holy Spirit does not quantify His existence by anything other than totally agreeing with God and Christ

yet there is so much deception.....

I do agree concerning words, but I was n the frame of mind who Jesus was quoting.

In the Catholic version, plus they have more than 66 Books.
I am familiar with the other Books Maccabee etc... The catholic church is heaven on traditions that is why the have those book.

The RCC believes all the writing are inspired including the Church fathers and anything the Pope says .
Why do fundamentalist hold to the 66?

Because as i said earlier They are built of Christ, The Eyewitnesses, the Prophetic , and genealogies. More and greater witness in the 66. The wonderful work of God in the 66 is clearly seen all 66 books fit as one. Most do not even think how they are

66 books and about 40 writers. The unity of the 66 is undoubtable.

Where did I deny those 66 Books? They are definitely God inspired. My point is there were more than just those 66 Books that were inspired. Why did God let Joshua and king David use Jasher but it is not good for us? Why does God Himself quote Enoch but a council thinks God is off His rocker by denying Enoch, even Jude quotes him. I am just saying there were more than 66 Holy Spirit inspired Books. Shame on the Council for removing them!

well

we can't even agree on what we have in our hot little hands

(I'm here to keep kicking the can)

God says we will find Him when we search for Him with our whole hearts

I am positive that God definitely draws the curtain on some and I wish He would draw it on others but He seems to know what He is doing

the worse thing going, IMO, are those who deny the Holy Spirit or those who try to piggy back off Him

this forum illustrates both quite well I'm thinking...one reason I would not encourage most to go out and decide which other books should have been included in the canon

and please understand how I mean that. we can't deal now because God's gift is rejected by so many even though they say they have accepted Christ

and no I do not really wish to divert the thread, but that is a major problem of actual life as a Christian from what I can see

cults have developed over some believing they had a visitation from God...but of course it was not God

We aren't an occult or cult, we are Children of the Living Most High God. And we have a history with God that proves what God has handed down to His Chosen People. Who then is it for man to know better than God? When did God ever need man's approval or counsel or to format a council concerning God? In my opinion, if Jesus, Who is the WORD, quotes someone, that should be a no brainer that material should also be good enough for me. Therefore, shame on the council.
