And for the one poster who was nitpicking on the difference between the words "the" and "a," have you ever read how Jesus redefines some of the Ten Commandments? Talk about not even being close to word for word.

I absolutely agree. But if we read that Joshua and king David read the Book of Jasher, that would seem to me that it was also inspired by God. Or, if Jesus quotes Enoch, the things that he wrote must be also inspired for God Himself to quote it.

Do you think God would quote something not inspired of God?

I don't!

whoah!

OT believers did alot of things that Christians should leave behind according to the New

should we still cast lots or should we KNOW the will of God because our minds have been renewed by the word?

well God was not quoting it then, was he! words are recorded and not every one is attributable to God

I suspect you might be looking for proof of your own persuasions...I could be wrong of course but so could you

that's handy (shrugs)

well I guess you are replying to me...please use the quote feature or at least @ then the person you are addressing. thanks

when I was saved at 5, I didn't know a thing about councils or the Bible itself. I just learned that Jesus died for me and I should accept Him as my Savior and after consideration, I did, alone in the living room of my parents home. sometimes I wish I knew less then what I do know because the less would be how Christians USE God for some of the evil they do...at least they think they speak for Him...and I would also know less about how active the devil is in this world

that's right. God has never changed but that does not mean that as Christians we act like the Israelites did in the OT and start killing all unbelieving nations. God does not change, but we don't know and we have not experienced, what it was like to be sinless and childlike before God and not constantly questioning. we do not really know how very far it is we have fallen... do people consider that God never said He will restore us to who we were before the fall on this earth in this plain of being? some seem to think they have come into perfection on this earth and they are the most obnoxious among us!

do you think people cannot know God and be led by His Spirit without the other books?

I honestly just do not agree with how stressed out over it all you seem to be...

I am not stressed. I am just tired of being told how holy these men were when the evidence does not back it. They claimed to be led by the Holy Spirit but cannot decide if Jesus is God, or what He quotes is inspired. In my opinion, God NEVER led them to do anything as such. These men did this for "control." They chose the Bible in how they wanted it, not by how God had it!

We are discussing councils who voted on God actions, inspired writing. Why are you tossing other things out that have no bearing on what a council is?

well you sound stressed LOL!

I am glad you said in your opinion because I do not believe, call this my opinion if you want, that God was knitting while people did whatever

God no longer speaks from the mountain...but yet He is the same, right?...try to be more logical

either God is bringing to pass His will or we have the wrong idea about Him

we might just as well say that the devil does whatever, whenever he wants....yet God puts the breaks on him over and over

Am i?

30 years later even Jude quotes Enoch.
Clearly something was written from Enoch.

you are going to ride this pony until it has no legs

you insist everyone should listen to you and yet you seem to want them to repeat after you

I am not that person

You keep adding things while dancing around the fact that God never required men to be a council over His doings.

I have continued one thought and you have countered with several thoughts but the one issue I am discussing. Why do you do that? Is it hard to answer what I am asking?

can I suggest that Jesus may have not quoted Enoch but made the statement in Matt 22:29-30

Nowhere in the 66 Books of the Bible does it say angels neither marry nor are given in marriage. What did Jesus mean when he said: “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures” in reference to the angels not marrying?
Here is 1 Enoch 15:5-7:

5. Therefore have I given them wives also that they might impregnate them, and beget children by them, that thus nothing might be wanting to them on earth. 6. But you were ⌈formerly⌉ spiritual, living the eternal life, and immortal for all generations of the world. 7. And therefore I have not appointed wives for you; for as for the spiritual ones of the heaven, in heaven is their dwelling.

The greek and what Jesus said must be looked in the context of all words he used:

  • Scriptures
  • it is written
  • Word of God
  • Direct Quote of a Prophet
Does the book of Enoch draw conflict with Genesis chapter 6? which one is correct? who was the mouth of God, Moses or Enoch?

If I was interrogating you for a crime and you answered me how you have, I would conclude you are guilty and hiding something.

LOL! you are predictable if nothing else

I haven't danced around a thing but I have noticed that you will create an ad hominim post when you either do not want or possibly cannot, deal with a post that tries to reason with you

I never said God required a council. I did not agree or disagree. but God does seem to require people to carry out His will on earth. maybe He didn't like what happened to the original commandments He wrote with His own 'finger'

I have continued one thought and you have countered with several thoughts but the one issue I am discussing. Why do you do that? Is it hard to answer what I am asking?
well if you do not ever consider another perspective other than your own, you are going to have difficulty speaking with just about anyone I would think

I have answered you and given you more to think about but you will not have it

maybe you have some difficulty with theory or abstract thought or holding two ideas at one time and weighing the differences..or even a less than ideal attention span...but the ad hominim comments do nothing for you

Is it Jesus refined them or Raised the Standard? The Law of God was absolute unless God raised the Law by a greater Law which Jesus did.

That is why Jesus said You have heard is sais or it is written: " But I say unto you". Was Jesus arrogant? Or did he have and has the authority to do so? I would say yes.

24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:

26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.

27 And last of all the woman died also.

28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Which portion is about "angels" marrying?

To you both, I am not denying anything we already have, I just am asking isn't it possible some Books were rejected that should be in our Bible this moment?

that is just stupid

really

like I said...personal and insulting...that is what you do and have been doing since you arrived

it says more about you and how you view others, than what you might know

you want to go on and on and on about something God has actually given people a choice about but you do not see that and so you have this little hobby horse and think insult is equal to persuasion

childish

one more thing though?

I have continued one thought and you have countered with several thoughts but the one issue I am discussing. Why do you do that? Is it hard to answer what I am asking?
it is somewhat amusing that you have deviated so far from the actual op and think you are holding court here

is it so hard to understand people are not going to hold your view in the esteem that you have for it?

30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. 31But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of
