Matthew 9:15 Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

You are so right... every fact or truth must have a biblical reference and foundation... to truly understand a verse or passage you must look at the whole context.. author, time period, cultural history, etc. not to mention that the bible is perfect and doesnt contradict itself. we need to ask the spirit for help to interpret the scripture correctly, and last, the word is not meant to be in treated like some reading material in heated discussions to see who is right or wrong, lets not waste time with people like that and lets use it to reach the ones not saved

"Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink"

Is it a huge perversion of the truth?
"them that are mighty" and "men of strength" is referring to men of war. We as Christians are to be men of war, not warring against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against rulers of darkness.

"Woe to warriors given to wine and strong drink" is the message that the Bible is conveying. Why? Because wine and strong drink affect the mind and the reflexes. Man's judgment is impaired. God says stay away from it if you are a warrior... it's not for you.

We also have been made kings and priests. Kings were forbidden to drink wine and strong drink as well.

Alcohol was consumed in the OT, before the cross, JJ...

Psalm 104.15 And wine cheers the heart of man; oil makes his face shine, and bread sustains the heart of man.

Hmmm...alcoholic wine and bread...the two very things Jesus used....go figure...

Exactly, which is why I have posted more than once in this thread the word that was used in the original texts for wine.

One can argue/debate all they want on how they feel the scripture says, but when you put out there the original meaning it is hard to see how they can refute it.

It is written...

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil."

Romans 12:2
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Romans 12:9 KJ2
"Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good."

Revelation 2:2
"I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:"

2 Timothy 3:1-7
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Matthew 7:15-23
"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

And this is a lot easier to post on a website, instead of actually living it out practically

I like how you post the verses, but I am pretty sure just by the things you say, your not living it

Not to mention Noah, and a lot of other followers of God in the OT had vineyards an made and drank alcoholic wine from those grapes.

The problem is that the negatives of things have been drilled so hard into their minds, they can no longer focus or see the advantages or how something can be used for good.

Then when we defend it or other issues, they say don't apply, was not meant for us, or say that we make the Lord out to be a tempter or contributor to ones sin.

They can not see that the Lord our God makes all things, people misuse and do wrong with what is given.

Jacked...

Still waiting for brother Jason to defend his googled assertion regarding the '75 Biblical warnings'.....too bad he just googled his info instead of actually researching it beforehand.

He can't even defend his very FIRST example.

Eccl 7:16
15
I have seen everything during my lifetime of futility; there is a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness and there is a wicked man who prolongs his life in his wickedness. 16Do not be excessively righteous and do not be overly wise. Why should you ruin yourself?17Do not be excessively wicked and do not be a fool. Why should you die before your time?…

you are taking the wisdom of man and extrapolating it onto Scripture, that Christians disagree on, in an effort be right. Then adding Scripture trying to back up your efforts to do this, as something that everyone is supposed to do.

I have more hope for a person who knows how to repent, what it means to be changed, destroyed, and rebuilt then the person who isn't happy with heart change, and seeks exteriors as a means of piety

I will put it to you this way and will say nothing more. You are standing at the judgement throne and Christ gives you a cup to take to the Father you cant drink of this cup.... if it is not good you die .....is the wine Good? Do you trust Jesus or google? You still dong know the door that has been opened of where you stand ...if you did you would bow down. The Lord has given me prophecy and a vision. I would like to have blessed you with it but I will not cast pearls at your feet...

Yes, but be careful because there are some on here that do like I mentioned and say repentance does not apply to us.

Repentance is part of the mosaic law that does not apply to us is what they have said to me, it is for the Jews and not for us.

And what you constantly dismiss is the fact that unfermented grape juice was also known as "wine" in the Word of God.

And everywhere in the Old Testament where people were drinking alcoholic wine, God's judgment followed.
