Auntie Ann?

Read Romans 10 and believe...and confess and profess.

GOD sees already the TRUE CONFESSION which is hidden from the eyes and ears of men...and HE isn't fooled.

Many will do lip service to the name and confess JESUS with their mouths...but if their heart does not believe (where GOD sees)...GOD knows...

And guess what?
Faith...even the size of a mustard seed (if it is directed in and on CHRIST JESUS)...is FAITH!
Properly and correctly directed in and on JESUS...

In the end, all mouths will confess...some in awesome adoration...others in mourning as for an only SON...

All one need do is watch the video and see where this heretic said this, no lies, just exposing the false teachers and false teachings. I usually do not watch all the videos you guys spam the forums with, but when I do, it does not take me long to find the errors in his teachings.

I will continue to expose the false teachings of those who pretend to be "in Christ", but are truly reprobates concerning the faith, in both word and deed. :)

And the believers in the grace of Christ will continue to expose your continuous lies, slander and malice for others in the body of Christ despite being shown that you are bearing false witness.

We are not expecting you to admit your sinning as that takes the gift of God to grant repentance but we will limit our interaction with you as per Paul's instructions in 1 Cor 5:11.

We have all tried many times to get you to stop this ungodly behavior even when shown the truth of what people say on at least over 50x times- and yet you continue to slander others in the body of Christ.

No one can "Pretend to be in CHRIST"...like I said, GOD sees and knows the TRUE INWARD CONFESSION AND PROFESSION upon the heart of those who believe in HIS SON...

And thankfully, sir...it isn't for you to "help" GOD with exposing those who know HIM and are known of HIM...from those who simply "borrow THE NAME"...

I recently posted a thread about the process of fighting the good fight of faith, and how by the power of God's Spirit we can resist temptation and sin, and also bring every thought into the obedience of Christ, and also be purified in our hearts and minds by the same Spirit. But this thread like many of mine was met with great resistance and anger by those who follow a certain "cult" following and the teachings of Joseph Prince. Because I preach against sin and for an obedient walk of faith empowered by God I am usually falsely labeled as a "sinless perfectionist" or preaching D.I.Y. "self righteousness".

But here is the funny part, when looking through some of the false teachings of JP I found this quote of his....

What happened to the process of first being made a babe in Christ by spiritual rebirth, and the ongoing process of sanctification and purification, working toward that perfection by the trans formative power of God's Holy Spirit? This is why so many of his followers are so opposed to the idea of actually being set free from sin and heart purity, because that process has been totally removed in JP's teaching.

Basically JP's false teaching just says you need to have "right thinking" not that there is an actual spiritual transformation and rebirth that set's you free from sin and gives you the empowerment to purify your hearts and minds. His teaching is nothing more than declaring yourself as righteous, when in reality there was never a spiritual rebirth that took place.

So by not experiencing an actual rebirth in Christ that transform ones heart and mind, they just proclaim themselves to be "perfect" and "righteous".

That my friends is the true definition of "self righteousness" when a person declares themselves to be something they truly are not, their evil works prove they are not made righteous in Christ.

For those who want to know the many deceptions of this false teacher, here is the link...Joseph Prince exposed, false teachings of Joseph Prince

Is that what you are doing? Using their words concerning the "sinless" perfectionism there?

I THINK I got what you are doing because I get confused between the strawmen propped up (against what you are not saying) and what he might be saying (but against which no one adds straw to the same).

That can be hard to follow actually
Yeah, I have never claimed my self to be "perfect", but that is exactly what JP is teaching his followers.

Just use Jesus words on what it means to be "perfect".... Luke 6:40 "The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

Was not Jesus without sin? So to proclaim yourself as "perfect" like Jesus, then you are proclaiming yourself as sinless and perfect= "sinless perfectionism."

So I do not want to hear the false labels placed on me anymore from them, who do proclaim themselves to be as such. :)

You have not proven that I have had bad translations of the scripture. I post from the NASB. I realize it may "conflict" with your religious beliefs but that's the way things like this happen to all of us.

I too could post lengths of actual Greek scriptures in my posts but I know that 99.99 % of the people ( including yourself - if you didn't look it up ) don't know the language nor do they need to know it. It is the Holy Spirit that illuminates the truths of the scriptures to us and reveals the work of Christ in our lives - we don't get that by reading Greek nor from man's opinion written in a Greek book about what his particular thoughts are on a text as he is just giving "his own interpretation" of what he thinks it means - all this is based on his religious teachings too.

There are Greek scholars that do believe in the gifts of the Spirit are for today and there are some that do not - so just because one is a Greek scholar is actually meaningless in the interpretation and "application" of a scripture. That is the Holy Spirit's job.

People could be absolutely fluent in Greek and Hebrew and Aramaic and not have a spiritual clue to what this means in the light of what Christ has done for us at the cross, burial, resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father - and the fact that the Christian is there with Christ.

I have also taken Greek too but as I have said before the Lord does not want me to be bogged down with being able to read it from it's original state. I am happy for you that you are taking on-line courses in Greek and I hope you are well enough to continue doing so if that is the Lord's plan for you.

We need the revelation of Christ from the Holy Spirit in order to understand the scriptures - we could study the scriptures for 60 years including the original languages and still miss what is really being said by the Spirit of God to us that are in Christ now.

The truth behind the fact that we are new creations in Christ created in righteousness and holiness is of paramount importance if we are to walk in the true Christian life that is in us that believe.

Sometimes truth "conflicts" with our religious traditions and it upsets us - I know...I have been there and still am in many areas that I need to have my mind renewed to. We think we are "defending the faith" but in reality we are just "defending our religious traditions".

Anyway, I trust that you are feeling better and that you be strengthened by the Spirit of God in your endeavoring to walk in Christ.

Rather than refuting my Scriptures with Scriptures, again you resort to your stock phrases about "religiosity" etc. And yes, scholars do disagree on theology, depending upon their bent, but not essential things, and not key issues. Whether they are Arminian, Baptist or Reformed, there are essentials!

No one is saying that the Holy Spirit isn't needed to illuminate the Bible! No one is saying that the Holy Spirit does not lead, but the law leads! The law is a taskmaster! Christ has come to set us free, and set us free from the false doctrines of internet preachers, too!

The issue is not my interpretation of the Bible, which lines up with orthodox Christianity. Not because I am religious, but because I have read the Bible over and over, in many translations, and studied it, studied theology, rejected what didn't seem right from my readings, and then learning and growing, sometimes changing, as I did even in public on this site. And all the time, it is the Holy Spirit who has been transforming me, showing me the path to follow. Not of my own works, lest anyone should boast.

But God has called me to know the original languages and to study it as a worker approved. Studying the Bible, using the Bible is essential to our walk with Christ. It is a combination of the Spirit within, who illuminates the Scriptures. I agree totally! And there are Greek scholars who do not even believe in God! I don't understand it, but the devil has his way with people, for evil, I guess! Really something I do not understand!

But Joseph Prince is far beyond the pale as far as theology is concerned. It is not about religious traditions, but how he has warped and distorted the truth, in many ways and in fact, created his own religious traditions, which are contrary to all the Word and the Spirit have to say. And he has done this under the guise of God telling him to walk this way!

Anyway, I can see you did not carefully read my refutation of your claims concerning whether we are progressively sanctified, as the Greek and many English translations say, or whether we are already perfect in Christ, as I guess the NASB says. (A translation I read for 25 years, and ironically, never discovered the truth of the meaning of transformation and the Holy Spirit walking with us and changing us. I now wonder, after reading your posts, if that translation held me back in growing in the Lord!)

I really don't care if you want to learn Greek better. That is between you and God, of course! But if you don't want to learn to really read Greek, then my plea is that you stop posting these simplistic answers from the Greek, and the patently WRONG translations which warp theology. It seems to me, that you have developed some pretty rock solid religious ideas yourself. So please study again, maybe without using internet teachers, with perilous and heretic doctrines, again which are the NEW religious traditions, you so obviously hate.

As for this whole thing of being made perfect when we are saved, and missing the essential fundamentals of justification, being how God saves us and makes us positionally righteous in Christ; moving on to sanctification, which is the on-going work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, transforming us, leading us away from sin and unrighteousness; and finally, being made perfect when Jesus returns or we see him face to face, I have one verse to refute this whole notion that we are made perfect when we are saved. Of course, if you don't agree, then you are calling Paul the heretic, instead of rightly looking at these false teachers, who say something not only contrary to the Bible, but everything the Holy Spirit has called us to work out in our lives.

I love the way the Holy Spirit works! I was praying yesterday for more verses to show we are not perfect when we are justified. In other words, God has not forgiven our past, present and future sins. Instead, he saves us in spite or ourselves, when we repent of our sins! Then the Holy Spirit convicts us of on-going sin, and helps us to overcome those sins, in his own time. JP's theology would lead us to not having to examine ourselves about sin in our lives, because we would be perfect, right? So the Holy Spirit, in my daily devotionals showed me this important verse:

"Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own." Phil. 3:12 ESV

"
Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus." Phil 3:12 NASB

If you have a problem with this, then take it up with Paul and the Holy Spirit. Or do some more tap dancing, blame my theology on some kind of religious tradition that I have not now, nor never had, being somewhat of a rebel against the establishment, including religious establishments, but instead, relying on the voice of the Holy Spirit to speak to me, and to speak to me in his word.

PS And thank you for your concern about my health. I have made some adjustments, and still feel like I am on a roller coaster with regards to flares and pain. Today, is a good day! Yesterday, not so much! But at the end of the month, I add a fourth med, (or 5th, if you count pain killers) which I am certain will help, but the catch is that it may hurt my liver again. Just trusting God for whatever the result.

Sir I looked at the video...
The first part...is already misinterpreted and misunderstood by those who are "of the world"...(from those who are NOT OF THE WORLD)...

When HE comes the SPIRIT of TRUTH whom the world CAN NOT RECEIVE (John 14), HE will convict the world of sin.(John 16)

CHRIST did not pray for the world.
Father I pray for those whom you have given ME ((((OUT OF THE WORLD)))) they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world (John 17)

Remember?

I suggest you read all of John 14-17 to get the FULL STORY of CHRIST reminding HIS DISCIPLES (those yesterday, those today, and those tomorrow) about THE PROMISE of the FATHER.

You missed a very, very very important distinction and division between those who are IN THE CHRIST, who have already been gathered up and out of the world and are seated in the HEAVENLY REALMS in CHRIST JESUS...from those who haven't been...yet...

Because they do not believe in the ONE whom the FATHER sent forth...

Here is a refresher on what JP said...

Basically anyone who believes this is proclaiming themselves as already being "perfect"= "sinless perfectionism"

What is ironic, those who hold to this doctrine have said I am preaching "sinless perfectionism", yet I have never claimed myself as already being "perfect." Funny huh? :)
Nonsense.....believing in what Christ has done is now "imagining"? My goodness you really have no idea about the gospel of Christ. You really have no idea of the new creation in Christ that is created in righteousness and holiness.

Have you never read Hebrews 10:14 ..how long is for all time?

Pollyanna,

You can do the same, you know.

No one is holding you here.
And no one is making you do what it is you do not want to do.
You are free to follow this man around...but he isn't speaking THE TRUTH of the GOSPEL of GOD'S GRACE and MERCY most visibly and clearly seen in THE ONE whom HE sent for the sins of the world.

See, if we could have done everything for ourselves, there would have been NO NEED for GOD to send HIS SON.
But HE did
And HE will not allow any man to exalt himself (or his works) above HIS SON.
HE will not allow any man to treat HIS SON'S SACRIFICE as unholy and secondary

On that day, you will not be able to exalt anything above the GIFT of GOD.
All that you can bring before the altar is the RIGHT COVERING.

For if you do not have the RIGHT COVERING, you will be found uncovered...
And it won't matter how many works you have done to keep yourself clean if you haven't FIRST been WASHED.

Paul knew this as well...

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Angela - your opinion is just as valuable as everyone one else in the body of Christ.

I know you have a problem with Prince and I don't agree with everything he says but as far as the gospel of the grace of Christ is concerned. He is spot on.

There are thousands of people being set free from things that the so-called orthodox Christianity couldn't free them from. I wouldn't go back to that religion for anything. But I would have defended my religious views with my life back then too so I understand where you are coming from.

Christ has set me free too and He has shown me the gospel of the grace of Christ by myself before I even heard anyone else teaching it. He woke me up one day and started putting scriptures in my spirit. This went on every day for about 3 months. I would write them down and when I finally put them all together - it was the gospel of the grace of Christ as is being preached by many all over the world now.

I too when I first saw Prince thought he was a heretic because of the 1 John 1:9 thing and I wouldn't listen to him but the Lord circumvented him and through a series of other events - I could finally see what was really going on there. Now I can't see how in the world I didn't see it before.

I am not trying to persuade you to believe what I believe about it - I am just giving you my testimony.

The scriptures show those in Christ as being "perfected forever" in Heb 10:14 as well as in scriptures like Phil 3:12 where Paul is saying that he has not yet been made perfect. As you know there are a few meanings in the Greek word for "perfected".

One of the meanings is to "complete or finish" as you can see below. Even though we are "perfected" in our inner man in Christ which has been created in righteousness and holiness - we still need to work out what is in us outwardly in our flesh while he was in this world. Paul to me was saying that he hasn't done that yet.

None of us manifest Christ yet like we should and can as we walk by the Spirit but we press on to "put on Christ" and to "finish/complete" what it is that the Lord has for us while on this earth.

So, we have both aspects of what already is in our new creation in Christ ( Heb 10:14 ) - a work that He has done. And we have the working out of that salvation outwardly so that others can see Christ. ( Phil 3:12 )

Hebrews 10:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

I am puzzled about this reference to Colossians 2 telling us we are already made perfect. I have the whole chapter open on my screen, and I simply cannot see this. In fact, what I see is the exact opposite. Yes, we are new creatures in Christ. We start as babes in Christ, then God moves and leads and guides us. He uses the Holy Spirit, who illuminates the Word, and also brings teachers, preachers, mentors and guides to confirm what he has spoken. And the Holy Spirit certainly warns and convicts us of sin. And if we were actually perfect, like Jesus, why would we need to be warned??

I see this chapter as a warning not to be led astray. If we were already perfected, as you keep claiming, again, why would we need warnings as to being led astray? It makes no sense on any level!

"For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, 2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments." Col. 2:1-4 ESV

[FONT=Helvetica Neue, Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]As for this constant reference to Hebrews 10:14, you have a BAD TRANSLATION to support your religious views. Please see my earlier post on this! We are not MADE PERFECT! (Sorry for the shouting, but seriously, you are so tied into your religious traditions and so inflexible about coming to the truth, I just hope I can get this across to you!)

This in answer to your post #3 (with a few corrections on my part!),

[/FONT]The above is what is called - a contradiction! We are NOT perfectly sanctified now. Although we are positionally justified - (Romans 5:1), there is no where in the Bible it says we are perfectly sanctified, except in bad translations!

"μιᾷ γὰρ προσφορᾷ τετελείωκεν εἰς τὸ διηνεκὲς τοὺς ἁγιαζομένους." Hebrews 10:14

Hagiazomenos - ἁγιαζομένους
is the Present Passive Participle. However, I have no idea where this translation of yours "are sanctified" comes from - but the actual translation needs to have the passive in it -meaning like the following versions, "those who are being sanctified!" Not just "are sanctified" which would be the imperfect tense!

"
Hebrews 10:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

( who are sanctified this is present passive..passive is that something is being done to you ...the Spirit of the Lord in us changing us. )"

Again, I plead with you! Why do you just keep posting the same, badly translated and theologically wrong verses? Why do

"
For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy." Hebrews 10:14 NIV

"For by a single offering
he has perfected for all time those who are being made holy." Hebrews 10:14 ESV

"The ones being sanctified" Hebrews 10:14b USB interlinear translation.

Yes, the sanctification is done by God. But is the passive used here to signify we are perfect right now in our sanctification?

"In fact, when God is the obvious agent of the transforming process, Greek used the passive to show that it was the theological passive or the divine passive. Further, this "divine passive" seems to occur frequently throughout the NT. That God is behind the scenes is self-evidently part of the world view of the NT writers."

Greek Grammar: Beyond the Basics by Daniel Wallace pg 437-438.

This passage is about God and how his sacrifice is the means and the method that God uses to work on us to perfect us. But no, that perfection will not be complete until we see Jesus face to face.

"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known." 1 Cor. 13:12

"
Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appearswe shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:2

When will we be like Jesus? When he returns!

Why will we be like Jesus? Because we will see him face to face, as he is. (1 Cor. 13:12; 1John 3:2) But right now, a glass darkly, or a mirror dimly.

Again, I plead with you to please stop using the same, bad translated verse over and over, and refuse to answer my objections, which I have shown from the Greek? You say you have enough Greek, but you are not answering why or what all the newer translations, and the Greek both say?

Be wary of the NASB! It is based on the KJV, which is also wrongly translated, probably because of a lack of knowledge of the Greek, to say nothing of the limitations put on Erasmus by the RCC to keep the Latin Vulgate translations. Jerome originally translated the Greek and Hebrew into Latin, and he had a limited knowledge of either language in the 4th Century, simply because Koine Greek and Hebrew had basically died out, or changed radically to Byzantium Greek. The KJV uses Erasmus' translations, and NASB basically follows KJV but modernizes it to the extent language was developed in 1963. A great Bible as a transition from the archaic KJV, but still following so many mistakes. There are other modern versions which tend to follow the KJV, rather than the original languages, because the PTB believe that "tradition" (i.e. the tradition of the KJV, and hence the NASB, and sometimes the ESV) is as important as the Greek manuscripts and the textual knowledge and grammatical knowledge we have today, that did not exist in the 16th century.

Anyway, I am going to shadow you and your constant repeating of bad translations to prove a point which is wrong. I do hope you will revisit these religious traditions you have absorbed, and go back to the pure word of God, praying for God to show you the real truth, not the truth according to JP and other internet preachers.

"For I want you to know how great a struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face,2 that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God's mystery, which is Christ,3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments." Col. 2:1-4 ESV

"
I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments" Col. 2:4 NIV

"
I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments" Col. 2:4 NASB

Angela - that quote in Col 2 is from ISIT - not from me. It was his quote. I have no idea where he got it from and I was wondering about it myself but you know how those self-proclaimed heretic hunters make up stuff and "twist" what is being said by others.

He got that quote from a heretic hunters website so I don't know anything about it.

As to Heb10:14 and "perfected" - what I gave was the Greek - it is in the perfect tense.

I welcome your shadowing....and will have great delight in going over the scriptures with you.:)

Touche':p

I knew you were doing something with this, thats a great way to do it (good job!)

Wait a minute, you told me before on several occasions that Hebrews was written to the Jews only, but, but, now you want to use it for yourself? Rofl!!! See how your own folly will catch up with you. LOL :)

Job 9:20
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.

Paul knew this as well...

Philippians 3:12

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Those are my favs together. And Phil 3:15 follows behind that (acknowledging the perfect and as many as be so) but I have found its in the SAYING (which is funny) because Job "got it" who WAS actually called perfect by the LORD and Im not Job (as that is no secret) but what I get a chuckle over is that this isnt all that clear to a few here that try and corner you into their strawman and because its not so clear to them who think its brilliant to throw you in a corner and try to get you to SAY, SAY SAY...their own strawman (but not with understanding according to what is shown in God, and Job, and Paul, and the like) But sort of get off on pressing you not even realizing what they are doing. Then lecture you on how perfect works (in their own simplistic scheme of things) because in Job we have God's declaration, but what Job knew he should not SAY that (of himself) becoming pervese in that same doing, just as we have Paul carefully saying in one breath NOT AS THOUGH I WERE already perfect although in the next breath read Phil 3:15 But he also mentions speaking wisdom among them that WERE perfect (which is basically full age, spiritual verses carnal) as he could not speak to the carnal in the same way (being babes yet) but he does neglect to tell them HOW they were to be minded in this Phil 3:15 and that if they were not quite getting that or differed in this thing that God would make this very thing more then clear to them
How awesome is that? Paul knew it! Thats why what you SAY in certain things matters, thats when there is no strawmen BUT NOW throw in the ignorant of these things throwing those up (at you) while thinking they feel pretty brilliant in their doings in that same

Because you can see it even in Jesus he defers it to the Father, be ye perfect as your heavenly Father (but not myself) is perfect, YET at the same time did say every one that IS perfect shall be AS their master I am sort of in a rush here to start dinner for the hubby but there are alot of places to examine in this very thing which is a great thing to look through actually.

I wasnt going to say anything because folks usually just pull out one place and link them and you pulled them out as I was looking at them myself. I thought, cool! He so caught that!

Thats difficult to articulate to when someone wants to press the perverse as is done here on the forum (as if they even know what they are doing) which is just another unspoken reason I opt out of that game, and Paul acknowledges the perfect (these being the mature) and when Christ when he brings in being perfect (he choses the Father) but when he defines what that would look like in his disciples (like their Lord). I find this is really hard to articulate though. This is actually a great study though because there are quite a few one the one hand (and then) on the other hands (in it) and then you just see them woven throughout each place.

Peace to you

Their whole cult following is based on just "imagining" yourself to be something they really are not. What a strong delusion!
TY for reminding me of this scripture:

2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV)
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

2 Thessalonians 2:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP]For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 (KJV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [SUP]12 [/SUP]That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
