Ephesians 2:10 KJV
(10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Are you waiting to attack Danschance? Ill throw some chum in the water. Lets go for a walk

Luke 1:6 (KJV)
6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

PSALM 78
[7] That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
[8] And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
[9] The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.
[10] They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
[11] And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.

There is always a difference in opinion over the subjects of law, grace, obedience and faith. Always. Each side lines up scriptures that prove their opposing points.

It is impossible for God to oppose God. God is eternal, God is "I am". Scripture is truth, it cannot be the truth in one way 3,000 years before Christ and different 500 years after Christ. The law was established at creation, it is the same today. The law was based on love at creation, the law is based on love today.

Christ and his life as a human had happened in eternal time at creation, but in our time it had a specific year. So Christ operated before He came in our time as a shadow only. When the reality came in our timing, there was a completion. If you study OT, you can study NT along with it, it agrees because God is God, but the NT completes and fulfills what the OT teaches.

The OT emphasizes doing, the NT emphasizes being, but they do not disagree.

Some who teach faith as the only way, bring up God's teaching about faith and it is truth, but other teachings must go along with it. That is true of teaching about law, grace, and obedience, too. Any one of these teachings, without including the teaching of the rest, takes truth and makes it not truth. It takes all of the teachings together.

When you take all scriptures as part of God, then it is absolutely true that we are to keep the commandments and that does not cancel out grace and faith, also important.

Obeying this internal commandment pleases GOD.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12

Trying to please GOD by keeping external commandments is rooted in fear and unbelief.

What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness—even the righteousness [that is] by faith. But Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, did not attain to the law. Why that? Because [they did] not [pursue it] by faith, but as [if] by works. They stumbled over the stone that causes people to stumble, just as it is written, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble, and a rock that causes them to fall, and the one who believes in him will not be put to shame.” Romans 9:30-33

Have no idea what you mean by internal and external commandments. The scripture listed by Laodicia made no mention of internal of external commandments. Every last one of them simply said to keep the commandments. No, keeping the commandments won't save you, but keeping them proves you are saved.

I would like to know what Laodicea and others mean by Commandments. You point out the Ten Commandments, is that all? Can we or should we also abide by the jewish dietary laws? Or should we just follow all 623 Mitzvot (commandments)
listed in the Old Testament?

Exodus 35
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord

Are we breaking the commandments if we work less than 6 days, or dont do any work at all?

This may apply for those who believe the Word. When we go through the veil, that is the flesh of Messiah, to the Holy of Holies what is there? We encounter the Ark of the Covenant, and it contains three items, the Manna, the Almond Rod of Aaron, and the Tablets of the Commandments.

For me the Manna is a representation of the Bread from Heaven born in Bethlehem. Bethlehem may be completely translated as the House of Bread.

The Rod of Aaron which bloomed to designate his line as priests may just as well represent the priesthood of all who come through that veil by means of the Blood of the Lamb of Yahweh.

Lastly we have the tablets of the Commandments of Yahweh. Please pay close attention, these tablets have the Ten Commandments inscribed on them. They do not have ceremonial laws that cannot be followed by virtue of the fact there is no formal Israel today with a Temple where the other statutes, ordinances and regulations may be practiced, therefore they are rendered of no account for those who Love Yeshua, Jesus, however the commandments of the Father are obtainable through the Blood of Yeshua, allowing us to pass through to them.

One may believe the Word, or he may join any group of his choice with itching ears hearing what pleases him, and also they may vote on what they believe is Yahweh's truth. Myself, and all who truly love Yeshua, we will follow the teachings in the Word, amen.

We mean the 10 Commandments of the Decalouge. Moses law is not the same as Gods law.

Moses' law was the temporary, ceremonial law of the Old Testament. It regulated the priesthood, sacrifices, rituals, meat and drink offerings, ect... all of which forshadowed the Cross. This law was added, "till the seed should come," and that seed was Christ (Galatians 3;16,19.

The ritual and ceremony of Moses' law pointed forward to Christ's sacrifice. When He died, this law came to an end, but the 10 Commandments (God's Law) "stand fast forever and ever." Psalm 111:8. That there are 2 laws is crystal clear in Daniel 9:10,11.

God's law has existed at least as long as sin has existed. The Bible says, "Where no law is, there is no transgression" Romans 4:15.

Moses law is called the "law of Moses" Luke 2:22 God's law is called "the law of the Lord" Isaiah 5:24 or "the royal law" in James 2:8

Moses law ended at the cross- Ephesians 2:15 God's law will stand forever. Luke 16:17

Moses law judges no one. Colossians 2:14-16 God's law judges all people. James 2:10-12

Moses law was carnal. hebrews 7:16 God's law is spiritual. Romans 7:14

Moses law made nothing perfect. Hebrews 7:19 God's law is perfect. Psalm 19:7

How does the devil feel about those who pattern their lives after God's 10 commandments?

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, WHICH KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD." Rev 12:17. "Here is the patience of the Saints: here are they that keep the Commandments of God." Rev 14:12

Matthew 19:17 KJV
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

John 14:15 KJV
If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:10 KJV
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1 John 2:3 KJV
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

1 John 3:22 KJV
And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

1 John 5:2 KJV
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1 John 5:3 KJV
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Revelation 12:17 KJV
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 14:12 KJV
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

This is overwhelming evidence that the Bible says we are to keep the commandments. To say we do not have to keep the commandments is teaching against the clear word of God. The fact that we are saved by grace through faith does not release us from keeping the law.

Philippians 4:13 KJV
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
John 15:4-5 KJV
(4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
(5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Disobeying the Lord brings trouble in our lives. The commandments were issued for our benefit.
The Lord forgives us for our sin, but he expects us to repent. When we don't, he disciplines us, and when necessary, that discipline can be extremely severe. The discipline is for our own good.

You should keep the commandments.

You should keep them perfectly.

And you are a debtor to do all of it, perfectly.

Doesn't seem like too much to ask. Just love God and love people. And take saturdays off.

Except maybe for this one little qualifier...

Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

How do you do that?

The manna is the provision of God which the hebrews murmured against and therefore sinned...

The rod of Aaron represents God's chosen successor to Moses whom the hebrews rejected and therefore sinned...

The 10 commandments represent the work of the Holy Spirit, which the Hebrews broke constantly in all kinds of ways and therefore sinned...

That is why the High Priest went into the Holy of Holies and sprinkled the blood of an unblemished lamb on top of the ark. As an atonement. The High Priest was standing in the gap for the hebrews and approaching God on their behalf, requesting mercy and forgiveness...

Now our provision is like you say, directly from the Lord Jesus.
Now our High Priest is the Lord Jesus Himself.
Now we are given the Holy Spirit and we walk in His Statutes by His Will. Not in the power of our own flesh and understanding like the hebrews... but by faith.

2 Corinthians 3:7-9
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
[SUP]9[/SUP]For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

Why are the 10 commandments referred to as the ministration of death and the ministration of condemnation???

John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

God's Law was given by Moses. But Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ. Interesting distinction.

John 5:45-46

[SUP]45 [/SUP]Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
[SUP]46 [/SUP]For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.

How does Moses accuse you?
Romans 3:19-20
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

That's the 10 commandments by the way and not some "sacrificial" or "ceremonial" law. That is why its called the ministration of death written and engraven on stones...

Peace be with you, praise the LORD the builder of the New Covenant who gives us Word of spirit and life to excel even through the Apostles for the churches to finish the New Covenant in order to Worship GOD in orderly fashion that is in spirit and truth through the teachings of the MESSIAH and continuing in them. we are just peddlers as a witness of these in the Holy Bible for GOD's building and plantation in the form of reminder and stirrer of their memory and ours to stand firm and not to be deceived to accept another.
Apostle Paul the chosen vessel for the Gentiles as the will of CHRIST reminded us, 'accepting another christ and another spirit'.
As Christian those who appose these Living Scriptures, even to those who posses the gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT from GOD through CHRIST the HOLY SPIRIT like me, opposes the MESSIAH, 'author and perfector of our faith according to the New Covenant of 'spirit and life' and who already fulfill the Old of the given 'letter and death', with due respect which is also from GOD the FATHER but no man has fulfilled them even to the very elect of Moses. As only uttered to the Jews in prophetic utterance of Moses in the book of Deuteronomy and also through the books of the Prophets, prophetically written also to including the Gentiles.
Latter when the time of GOD 's will, this fulfillment was only given to CHRIST to fulfill the Old and also to give it's full meaning for the New to excel from the Old teachings which is weak on the flesh and blood.
As a born again of water and the HOLY SPIRIT of the sound doctrine of the Holy Scriptures and talents, of the Kingdom of GOD now through CHRIST, one can worship the FATHER in spirit and truth.
Apart from the truth and life one can excel in talents (distributed gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT) to serve but fall into Lawlessness falling to Abide in CHRIST's teachings and through the Apostle's instructions to the churches, all to come to one order and in one obedience as one family of the living GOD through CHRIST the HOLY SPIRIT.
This tread is only for those who belong to the CHRIST (MESSIAH) of the living GOD and of the HOLY SPIRIT of the Holy Scriptures to remind and stir up our memory to all that we have learn by the help of the HOLY SPIRIT in us to practice obedience to GOD the FATHER first in fulfilling the first commandment of Christ to GOD the FATHER of all and then use the given talents to be a servant of GOD's Love through CHRIST to serve others fulfilling the second commandment of CHRIST.
True believers will know this is true and eternal life of LORD JESUS CHRIST representing the FATHER through the HOLY SPIRIT to all of us even now.
As it is written in the New Covenant of GOD through CHRIST three times in the beginning of the book of Hebrews and also in one church (body) with them and also as CHRIST is the only one Head, ever subjected to the FATHER say;
'If you hear GOD's voice today, do be heart harden, for you will not enter HIS place of rest.'
Also it is written as a reminder and to stir up up our memory;
'Many are called but only a few are chosen.'
'Work out your salvation (even though you are saved) in fear and trembling.' in order to enter GOD's place of rest that is Heaven while we are on earth because the LORD is coming back to judge people of all nations.
Be alert and stay awake to the HOLY SPIRIT's Holy Scripture of the Holy Bible to continue/abide/keep the New Covenant of the MESSIAH given by GOD the FATHER.
we are merely unworthy servants just doing our duty to remind and stir up one's memory who belong to the New Covenant.
We have only one Teacher and Helper who is the HOLY SPIRIT given by CHRIST by the will of the FATHER to CHRIST first, then who chose the Apostles and then through them to the churches and then to us, all to come in line, as it is written and given, GOD's willfully documented in the Holy Bible.

Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

By surrender to God we become servants of obedience. How often do we need to surrender to God?

1 Corinthians 15:31
I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

According to this we need to die daily. The law is like a mirror that points out sin. When we look into the mirror and see stains do we go for cleansing and then walk in His law?

Luk 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luk 18:8
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Mat 7:12 All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Mat 7:13
Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.
Mat 7:14 For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.
Joh 14:21
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him.
The following carefully separates the commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus Christ, although they are one.

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

There seems to be much debate on this and yet the Source of salvation, the Expert, the One who created man, the One who spoke His Law from Mt. Sinai, the One who gave His life so that we might obtain salvation, did not equivocate, He did not even stutter...

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Joh 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

And what did He command?

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

What did He inspire the Apostle John to write?

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Now there are those who refuse to obey, that is between them and God, but Paul wrote about them...

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

The carnally minded are the enemy of God and cannot be subject to His Law.

So, either Christ knew what He was talking about or He didn't. You choose, I have already chosen.

Paul said the law is only good for one thing. Knowledge of sin.

Since it can not save us, And since looking at the law itself brings temptation. The ONLY good the law does for us is to show us (if we are honest with ourselves and god) that we are STILL sinners in need of Grace and mercy.

Paul tells us how to live like God. to seek after things of the spirit. And to do this, we keep our minds on being Loving, mercyfull Forgiving, Helping, Praying, And all these things.

if we look at the things of the flesh, what are they? the law is what they are.. He tells us not to LOOK on these things, but on God.

Those who try to obey God by following the law fail, history and scripture proves this. so why do people keep trying to do what God says is impossible?

PAUL: ... obeying the commandments of God is everything. - 1Cor. 7:19, NRSV
