I've toyed with that idea before but I haven't found the pineal gland in the bible yet... not to say it's not there but I think the light Jesus is talking about is the word. I understand the evil eye but the single I eye I'm sure about. I think it might be the opposite of the double-minded man.
Very few glands are mentioned in the Bible.

Does that mean one eyed people's bodies are full of light? Are one eyed peoople better than two eyed people lol? Also what is a literal evil eye... what makes it evil and how does that make your literal body full of darkness?

It's a spiritual eye trof. :)
I still think its both. It does not matter how many eyes you have. What you see is one think and what is your view of what you see is another one. They are connected, IMHO.

I doubt it did. He would have to have cut out his heart :p

Of course it did not help him to get rid of all sins. But it might help him to get rid of this kind of sins.

There's nothing in the text that even hints of a physical eye. I don't understand this type of thinking, it's like context of the verse means nothing.

Abraham took God literally when he took his only begotten son to offer him to the LORD God as requested.

So when Jesus said if it offends you it’s better to cut your hand off or your eye out than to be cast into hell.
How can any man not take Jesus’ advice literally?

I think the “You don’t take the scripture literally do you?” is a cop out question, one that is asked by a person seeking to escape the reality of truth.Every time it’s asked it seems that some reader is hoping it isn’t.

What meaning does a metaphor and/or an analogy have if it doesn’t refer to something real?

Do you all think spiritual things are real?

You modern bible readers like the phoniness of those bibles.
You like them because you want to fantasize about not being under the authority of God’s written word. And your looking for excuses for your utter unbelief towards a God.
Who else but unbelievers like corruption and so they rationalize about it? And even have invented doctrines about uncertainty and error filled bibles.
It’s like people wanting to appear before God claiming ignorance and unwitting stupidity as a last ditch defense against truth.
Like someone claiming they didn’t know God cared about preserving and preserving his original word and publishing it in every language.

Tell me how would it benefit me or you to cut off our right hand? How would that save us from hell?

Secondly, who is seated at the RIGHT HAND of the father?
Who is the RIGHT HAND of salvation?
Who died to save the body from hell?

Yes I think all spiritual things are real. The spiritual right hand is Jesus Christ and he is real.... all spiritual things are real.

I used to be a modern bible reader. In fact I was a modern bible reader longer than I have been a KJV reader. I was saved while I was reading the NIV and I'm just as saved reading the KJV. So THEY'RE NOT PHONIES!

People like you do more harm to the KJV than all the proponents put together.

Let me explain this; when Jesus said that statement, he did mean it literally, but not the way some people think he did. If your eye or your hand is infected to the point that it needs to be removed in order for you to live, then have it removed, or die from it which will put you in your grave which is hell. The things that bother you physically, you fix the problem by seeing a doctor. The things that bother you spiritually, you see God to have them fixed, but you have to know your spiritual sicknesses to have them fixed by God.

If I'm saved by grace through faith, how does cutting off my right hand have anything to do with my salvation?

So, you think Jesus lied to you about it?
Do you think that a man will pick up his cross daily if he isn’t willing to cut off his offensive to God body parts?
You are rationalizing. It’s like a wanting a diet that doesn’t really make you suffer.

What you need to understand is that spiritual is real as Jesus Christ sitting on the right hand of God.

What if Jesus thought like you?

Would you have by passed the cup and simply imagined you were willing to bear the filthy sin of others and expected not to really be nailed to the cross, suffered shame, and death, and burial.

Peter thought going to the actual cross wasn’t really God’s plan for Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, Get behind me Satan.

Jesus is for real. He means what he says.

Aren’t you rationalizing away the truth about offering your body as a living sacrifice unto God, into some notion of not requiring actual sacrifice and death.

I guess when persecution comes and the mark of the beast is a way out some of you will take it with a grain of salt?

Your post is full of circular reasoning.

I have a question for you, Joseppi: What does the KJV about God preserving His word? Don't tell me to go look it up; I already have. You tell me what you read there.

Explain to me how cutting off your right hand saves you from hell. If you're a works salvation person just ignore this post lol.

It does not matter, the topic is "KJV vs...xyz" :)

how does one go from a literal amputation of a limb or poking out of an eye to a literal mark of the beast to support personal convictions and personal judgement of the hearts of other people?

yes

Jesus is the Truth

however some bizarre interpretations and taking His truth out of context, does not change that truth

I know not everyone is going to get that

It means whatever is bothering you spiritually, fix it. in this case Jesus was talking to the unsaved at the time. The very same way you would have a physical illness fixed.

I already have. And unbelievers claimed they can’t read and understand English.

Why do you think you think genius scholars go around hoping there isn’t a holy book of scriptures authorized by God?

Man believes in error because they believe it’s a man made bible that allows them to dodge what ever truth in scripture they want to deny is true.

I think man chooses corrupt bibles because they are designed with particular and peculiar unbeliefs in mind and are flavored like lollipops for particular tastes.

What I’m waiting on is some more corrupt quotes from the pretend bibles so I can prove them corrupt publically.

I notice that you dodged the question and continued with your tirade.

Please answer the question.
