Gay people are human beings, children of the most high. Our role as Christians is to be there for them in their time of need. If they need food, clothing, or water - if they are in a prison, a hospital, or abandoned: We are called to be there for them when we come to learn of their condition. This is not only true of gays, but of all people in need. Christians are the savior's of this planet. We are called to bring the message of salvation to everybody. Not only in word, but in deed.....especially in deed. If they outright reject the message of salvation, then it will be between them and the Father. We have to remember, it may not be the message they reject, but the messenger. The focus is what we are doing to advance the Kingdom of God. In justice, Freedom, and Salvation. Not only Salvation for the afterlife, but salvation from the sin in life we have now. Sin that brings fear, worry, isolation, dread, hunger, death, and behavior that is ungodly. We are the Light of the World....let them come us.

I agree wholeheartedly. I don't ever recall reading of Jesus "qualifying" a person as to being of a certain type or sexual or political leaning before loving them.

No one said Jesus doesn't love a sinner.Last time I looked the Word says...while we were yet sinners. But Jesus said "repent" and so did his disciples.Repent and be baptized, that was the message. When people say we don't want to mention sin, dont offend, you dont have to repent, well I dont know what gospel they're preaching but it aint the Bible!

Just curious, what do you understand "repent" to be? I'm asking because God is said, in the Bible, to have repented several times. Did God "repent" of sin?

I never said Gods love wasn't involved. Did I not say preach the truth is love or was that someone else talking out of my mouth? And what point are you making about "daddy being an evangelist"? Is that suppose to be mocking or what,I dont know.Of course the Holy Ghost convicts when the truth of the Word is preached. The whole reason Jesus came was to save from sin and die in our place.Yes,love love love love. But you need to preach the WORD the TRUTH and tell people they are LOST without God. What have you got against preaching against sin? How is that not love if you are sharing the Gospel with people? God is love, but He is also just and requires we repent of our sins.Of course he loves us.I dont see the point you're arguing here. What is wrong with saying sin is wrong? When Jesus spoke to the woman who had several husbands he pointed out her sin to her.She said later basically "come see this guy who knew everything about me" So if Jesus pointed out sin why should we not do the same? The disciples did,John the Baptist called the king out in public and said "and you!,you're sleeping with your brothers wife!" So why the aversion to mention sin? I dont get it.
No I am not mocking your Daddy....I have no aversion in talking about Sin nor do I ignore it or run from it. SIN leads to death....

So recently God jas been giving me this compassion for gay people...
You sure it was God?

RULES: 1) this is not an anti-gay thread...
Rules that apply are always the Forum rules, not your own.

2) not only should we respect gay people on here but also each other because this IS a sensitive topic and I think it needs to be handled with care.
EVERY sin is a sensitive issue, not just homosexuality.

Btw: 'let's take about gay people?' Well, if you really have such compassion for them, you shouldn't talk ABOUT them, but WITH Them. Objectivizing the gays only makes them the topic of yet another thread on homosexuality.

Lots of people set guidelines for the threads they start, and a good forum neighbor will keep them. It's called staying on topic, which this thread has a problem doing.

Yeah but unfortunately this particular sin has been blown out of proportion lately, and a lot of homosexuals get touchy about it. It should be discussed.

Someone was looking for advice on how to witness to them, not just talk about the current social problem. Do you have any advice on how to witness to homosexuals or do you just want to pick a thread apart and find fault?

Setting guidelines is one thing, setting rules is another.

So because it's 'blown out of proportion,' it should be discussed even more, well that makes sense.

I did give her some good advice, now... what's YOUR problem?

yet he said that the things they do in secret are too shameful that they ought not to even be talked about by believers.

yet while he said prostitutes and thieves will get to heaven before priests and pastors, he said they don't any one make it if
they
don't renounce their sin and turn to god and go toward god instead of toward sin.

no matter what their political or financial or color or nationality, god has broken down the separating wall in christ jesus.

for those few who turn to him, to live his way. (i.e. not to continue in sin, thinking they've somehow 'got in' while still doing what they want to do)

read through the OT and the NT. god never treated sin and wretchedness as a 'sensitive' issue- plain out he dealt with it in the open, and plainly said how to deal with it as well. (not in secret, not in a closet, but in the open, out in the light).

how can a homosexual deviant be helped ? obviously only in christ jesus. there's very few 'places' they can find help to heal.

one that has been successful published a long time ago without fanfare, the book "the transformation of the inner man" which deals with problems a lot of people are facing, not just those who are sexually perverted, but also 'routine' moms and dads and children / families. it's no guarantee , but it's in line with scripture as far as i know, and may be the way someone can be healed(saved) (?? forgiven ??) ... or at least helped along the way....

actually, it is a 'sensitive' approach, and still without compromising god's word or his righteousness.

it takes time. (and not everyone has time. for some tens of thousands today is their last day..... don't wait)

I think the heart behind this thread was a good one.

..... it is written "there is none good but yahweh" by recognizing him and him and him alone as creator and judge, by faith in yahshua(yahweh's salvation),

and all mankind as wicked, wretched, deceitful, selfish, perverted, and abominable,

a lot of little troubles are avoided. (like eternal death and eternal suffering and eternal separation from him)

Intensions probably were good, execution well... etc
I think we all take risks in different ways and sometimes they leave us feeling puny.....esp when we are younger. I think JF is really sweet and is looking authentically for Jesus. Thats a good thing.

A lot of threads in the Bible room have good intentions. But the same ones turn into a lets see who can sling the most mud and verbal insults thread. As far as calling the OP names, if you go all the way back you can see her heart has been in the right place. Stuff like that is why people have a problem with Christians.

I just want to point out that that first sentence may look mean, but actually brings up a good point. Though God would want you to help homosexuals seek Christ with love, the enemy /will/ try to make you believe God is so cruel that He creates them then damns them for eternity. So yes, be vigilant, and definitely be judgmental of the spiritual guidance you are given, we are warned that often times it is NOT of God.

And homosexuality is in reality just another of many sins, but it has become a powerful weapon to lead people into death. I would love to learn of positive ways of dealing with another Christian who deals with these issues, and not become angry. Someone just posted a comment that really spoke to me, the person may not be rejecting the message, but the messenger.
