For those of you who think having more than one wife is a good plan what if your wife wanted more than one husband?

Polygamy is not a good plan. People are people and just way too fickle to have so complex a set of personal and marital relationships let alone adding the complexities of multiple integrated children.

So you have accused me. How many times are you going to make the same accusation to me? I read it the first time you posted it to me.
Now you've read it. How about hearing it?

David, Solomon are among the two popular biblical personalities that had many wives and concubines

My question is did they break the 10 commandments for having many wives? Besides worshipping other gods and murdering the hushband in case of david?

What part of commandment did they bteak?
God did not want Israel to take wives of other nations, for He did not want them to be led astray from the truth,by their false gods, and ways.

Solomon had 300 wives, and 700 concubines, and the Bible says the LORD was not pleased with him concerning that.

1Ki 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

Solomon wrote the book of Ecclesiastes, and that he applied himself to fleshy pleasures, but he said that it is all vanity, except for serving God.

Ecc 12:8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
Ecc 12:9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
Ecc 12:10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
Ecc 12:11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
Ecc 12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Living with one I've heard is tough enough why the L ;) would you want more? To go insane? Think of how many mouths to feed sheesh....no way man....plus you got to have a tractor trailer to load them all up to take them to church..... polygamists take the verse be fruitful and multiply to seriously imo......
Have you ever noticed most polygamist are men? I often hope it's because women aren't that stupid. I'd guarantee that, except... well, sometimes they are women too.

I guess that is why they say you should mind your own business and not worry about how others walk in their own shoes..
I learned that from Jesus.
Considering you haven't said one thing yet even remotely connected to something Jesus said, I have to keep wondering what you ever learned from him?

Don't worry. This isn't a quiz. I don't expect you to be able to answer other than put up another opinion or strawman.

There's no way that I'd want more than one Husband. Sanitary reasons alone, yuck.

I would say they each committed the sin of adultery by having more than one wife.

You should obey this written commandment
that God gave to you to obey.
1 Timothy 2:12
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Honey? Men aren't magically endowed with authority. It is bestowed on some -- both men and women -- through God and by others. You don't qualify under Titus 2:6-8

You don't qualify yet. Matter of fact, you're supposed to be learning from older people, including women, but you haven't even caught on to that yet.

True lol! :) Guys don't have to do anything except give the seed, women have to lug it around for months and months....plus deliver it.....props/respect to women!

I think the term for one wife having many husbands is polyandry.....rare but probably is happening somewhere on this planet.... lol...

Haha so true! There's been studies that show less incidence of STD's and other opportunistic infections when a person is monogamous compared to promiscuous.

A woman of God will obey this commandment.

A woman who rejects God will not obey this commandment.

How do you like that truth?
Honey? Remember you were just talking about pulling verses out of context? You seemed not to like it and then you did it. 1 Tim 2 has context you're ignoring. And again, you ignore much of what God is teaching.

My plan would be just to be joined to a woman by God with the blessing of God.
The rest would take care of itself as Jesus said...

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

And I certainly would give no thought to as how many wives another man has or had.
I have better things to do with my time and thoughts.

Besides Jesus said...

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Good luck finding a silent woman. lol

Many answers to your questions can only be obtained by your own experiences.
And there's your problem. You trust in experience so don't study God's word.

Unless I'm talking to you, because that still looks like a honey container to me, not a teapot. lol

Actually there are more females, because the polygamist men are married to multiple polygamist women.

Seriously though, women with multiple husbands is really nothing new. There are countries where that has always been acceptable in their society. As the Bible says, "There is nothing new under the sun."

And the ungodly will continue to promote and justify whatever their flesh desires. :p

It it surprises me that they'd have to do a study for people to understand that.

Failing comprehension is par for the course for our flesh. That's why we're told not to lean on our own understanding and to trust in the Lord with all our heart.

I Corinthians 2
[SUP]10 [/SUP]But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. [SUP]11 [/SUP]For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. [SUP]12 [/SUP]Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. [SUP]14 [/SUP]But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. [SUP]15 [/SUP]But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. [SUP]16 [/SUP]For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
