Masturbation sinful?

Wow, if masturbating isnt sexual immorality and a lust of the flesh what is then, where does the urge come from for someone to engage in it then, I would think not from the Spirit of God living in oneself. As for everyone though, Romans 12 says to let a mans own concious write it upon ones heart, you can tell people yada yada yada to no avail. Holy Spirit does the revealing and convicting and saving not us, vessels in His house to speak of the life of Jesus. You can encourage them that He is Holy and we are to be as well, truth sets people free if they seek the truth. Hmmm heres a thought, go to ones secret place with God and ask Him personally, Holy Spirit IS the one who truely teaches us what is and whats not.

Love you all, God is holy and righteous, to say masturbation is not sin, wow, couldnt of imagined Jesus doing it and i dont think He was a eunuch.

Before the fall in the garden, did you think adam and eve masturbated. Tree of knowledge verses Tree of Life. They hung Jesus on a tree, wrong tree, they thought they'd hung Him on their tree of knowledge, ooops, didnt satan get a shock when he could not find fault in Jesus, wrong tree. LOL God Bless

Jesus gave a parable on the vineyard, those who the Lord of the vineyard entrusted it too thought that they would abuse and kill his servants(prophets) then the Lord sent his son (Jesus), they thought that if they kill Him they would have it all. Satan deceived himself, he didnt want mankind redeemed. Tree of knowledge lost the day they crucified Him, and the world has never been the same since lol

My point is Satan knew that Christ was going to have mankind redeemed thats why Satan tried to make him fall into sin and he knows the Christ can't sin. He knows the Bible better than any human does. He doesn't want mankind redeemed is a true statement. :D

Hi Dodolah,

A lot of those rules are mandated by sexually dysfunctional people like those so-called celibate Catholic priests and similar types just to make us feel guilty about ourselves. Don't pay any attention to those creeps; they are watching a different movie than the rest of us. They're having too many problems of their own trying to figure out how to bugger little children without getting caught and sent to jail.

Don't fret or worry about it one way or the other. Don't listen to anybody tell you about what to do with your body. It's really none of their business.

Meet someone, get to know them and then get married. The entire process takes a long time. Hormones aren't that patient.

I think you are in err. The Holy Spirit convicts one of this after they become a Christian. Has nothing to do with Priests or Church Elders this is the reason for the initial post I think, a conviction from the Holy Spirit not a priest & the question, what does Gods word say about it. Many of us struggle in these areas & just cause it feels good and doesnt hurt anyone else we need to ask ourselves, what is the effect on us spiritually? What are the thoughts we think in this act? These are the things that satan will use and anyone who has overcome this addiction knows the hold it has. I dont know if its biblically incorrect or not, all I know is what the Holy Spirit convicts me of.

This is probably not going to be a popular viewpoint but...

You know what? We are all built with the urge. We are built with it. God built us with this urge. If it is sinful to gratify yourself then that is a crime against our natural make-up, because God made it, and there is no man on Earth who would dispute that. I don't feel like masturbation is irresponsible unless you turn it into something perverse. (Such as objectifying/lusting after a person.)

Judaism is against masturbation because they feel like wasting a man's seed is like throwing away life. (Masturbation for women they sort of shrug about.) But a lot of this demonization concerning masturbation was fabricated in the 1900's. There were medical journals published claiming how masturbation made you mentally ill and could cause death, and was a factor for crime. Queen Victoria even condemned married couples who had sex without the intention of breeding. I think this unreasonable indifference toward sexuality (namely masturbation) still carries over into Christianity today.

In short, no, I don't think masturbating to your mate is a sin.

Conviction on Masturbation can come from other Christians. Mine certainly did.
