bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full.

You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed.

It's good to see some "repenting" changing their minds about eating and working out. Now it's time to show the fruits of this repentance..:)

It's actually is a fruit of the Spirit within - self-control is of the Spirit and not the flesh. Gal 5:21-22

oh too funny there mr

go juice your chips then

however, it is actually so

gluttony is also a sin. never see much about that one though

ps...I am actually not the fat lady who sings when it's all over :p

The issue with this thread is that the comparison of Gnosticism and Hyper-Grace doctrine is irrelevant. VVhy not compare hyper-grace doctrine to God's word and see what stands? Just because a cult shares certain truths doesn't mean the truth should be avoided. If anything, it should be guarded. In the occult you have prophecy, and discernment but they are done outside of God. Their source isn't God. Does that mean we should stop operating in the gifts of the Spirit? Just because there are counterfeits?

In the same way, just because you find similarities between a cult and the truth, it doesn't mean the truth has been tainted. The truth was simply used to draw people into falsehoods. VVe need to rather let God's word be the judge and standard. Not a comparison of the occult to people's doctrines so as to defame them, but an evaluation of their beliefs held up against God's word so as to correct them.

No Chester, do not listen to this person.

What is happening here is a group of people want to attack another group of people. and it does not matter how many times they are told. When they say WE (as a group) believe do not believe what they claim we believe, they never repent.

Look around the threads, We do not get angry when people disagree with us,, We will however, stand in the way of people bearing false witness against us..

Interesting! Interesting!

I will personally and publicly give you (EG) a recommendation here:

As you well know, you and I have been corresponding on a different thread and we disagree on the OSAS issue. I had a hard time convincing you that I can believe a person can be lost and at the same time not believe in a works salvation. To your credit, you finally said that I am "probably" a brother. And I really appreciate your post #525 (thread on Hebrews 6:4-6). (Look at posts 522-525 on this thread)

I guess on this thread we have something deeper going on?

But, then, I do want to say something further

to EG and whatever "group" is with you - It seems to me you want to make clear that on this forum your view is the majority one and the one that is Biblically right - but to your credit you do accept others - but the feeling others get (at least what I have gotten) is that you will not allow another view to have any sort of "prominence". I think this causes other to react. Some just quit writing after awhile. Or, to put it this way - non- OSAS people usually wind up doing one of two things: (1)getting nasty and accusatory or (2) they just leave and don't keep writing on the forum.

To the "other" group - I don't know for sure who all this is - maybe you don't either - please don't just go away if you have another view, and please don't get angry or call others names - just keep writing and insisting that "EG - or whoever it is) hear what you have to say and be OK with it - I vouch for "EG - and this "group"! They have a good heart!

Exactly. Suppose, for example, that a person swore they were not a Roman Catholic, but they shared many of the same beliefs as them. Does that mean we should conclude that they are lying and label them as Roman Catholic? And continue to do so in spite of their protests to the contrary?

Just for example of course.......

Chester ~ if I may

the concern is biblical truth...not being falsely charged

please read Ben's post just above, #86

LOL....( despite the apparent "lawlessness " ). I eat all I want one day a week on purpose. After about 6-7 days after your body is burning fat as a fuel source. The body says "We are burning too much fat - we need to keep it". That's where people hit a plateau.

However on the 7th day ( this is the good part ) when we eat a big high carbohydrate and fat meal ( like your chips and whatever else you want ) - this sends a signal to our body that we have lot's of fat and then the next day you can go back to eating healthy calorie dense meals and your body will start burning fat again. I has to do with the leptin levels in our body.

Not really into Chinese buffets..too much MSG for my liking but I have been known to visit them.

I have repented from going to Chinese buffets.

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
Matt 3:2

Now imagine I put this is into modern new version speak.

"Change your minds
, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."

Now listen to the rebuke said against the pharisees.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. "

Now this is rather harsh if it is just about changing your minds rather than the biblical meaning of the word repentance.

Ofcourse you could start using repentance instead of I am going to catch this train rather than that one, but that is just changing the meaning of the word not the biblical understanding of it.

Now to those interested in following Christ the truth is easy to see.

Most cults/false teachers must have some truth,,or some semblance which represents truth.. Otherwise they could not call themselves christian..

It is the lie mixed in with truth that makes it a false group

It's not hard to understand when you know what he was talking about. (Every common Jew in attendance was there to "be sorry for their sins." They had that goal before John ever said a word.)

Thanks for trying to understand.

Here is the issue.

One group says another group believes "this"

The group that is accused of believing "This" Says, No, this is what we believe, And shows the group who made the accusation what they really believe.

The group who made the origional accusation. Says no, Your wrong, This is what your group believes. (inspite of all the evidence) and usually where they get their proof is from another group, who is also apposed to the accused group (making it a biased source) or their own group resources (making it also a biased group)

if the group who is accused continues to say, No we do not believe this, They are seen as you have seen today.

1. They do not want to be apposed
2. They do not like it when their false truth is brought to the forefront
3. They do not like to be confronted.

This issue is non of the above, it is that they are falsely accused of believing things they have never professed. Never said they believes, and in reality, would never believe such things.

This has been going on in CC for months.. That is why many are getting fed up.

I agree with those who wish to agree with God.

Sin is rebellion and should be repented of.

But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.
Eph 5:3

You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.
Heb 1:9

Now you will find in ones own experience to hate wickedness is a good thing. If you
have been on the receiving end of wickedness you will know how bad this really is.

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
2 thess 2:3

It is interesting the traits of the sinful are rebellion and lawlessness.

Do you see the reality of what God is calling people to?

Being righteous, loving, walking in purity and faithfulness.

If anyone has grown up in a family without order or consistency, without love
and dependability they will understand the real fruit of lawlessness and the chaos
it brings.

It is out of this world the call for repentance goes out, or else judgment will fall.

For some maybe this is something they hate, because they have become pursuaded
that repentance is about legalism, and legalism is bondage.

But the bondage people fear is the bondage of sin, which they feel condemned about.
It is this very issue that convicts them which they alone need to repent of and turn
away from the evil that convicts their hearts.

The Lord comes like a thief in the night, so be ready today, for you know not what
tomorrow brings.

:alien: to all the brethrens brothers and sisters
set an example for everyone
as they say
and
let the scriptures speak for itselfs
to see if a man is only talking or speakin only unto himself
who corrupted themselves
for they only want to find guilts among others
as it is written
:read:
Hosea: 9. 7. The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
8. The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
9. They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

. ... compared unto this verses
as it is written
:read:
Mga Taga-Galacia: 6. 1.
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

3. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5. For every man shall bear his own burden.

6. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

... . ALWAYS REMEMBER
MAKE SURE THAT IF ANYONE SUGGEST ANYONE CONCERNING
THE TRUTH
ASK THEM FIRST TO TELL WHAT SCRIPTURES THAT TELLS
THE TRUTH IN ACCORDANCE UNTO THEIR FAITH
FOR THOSE EVIL THINGS
ONLY COMES FROM ENVY TO DECEIVE OTHER PEOPLE FOR THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION AND
NOT FROM MERCY WHO WANTS OTHERS IN THEIR SALVATIONS

Mateo: 15. 12. Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? 13. But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
14. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Mateo: 16. 6. Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
7. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
8. Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
9. Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 10. Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11. How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

12. Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Mateo: 23. 4. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

5. But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6. And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7. And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

8. But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
9. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
10. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
11. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
12. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

13. But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
14. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
15. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

16. Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
17. Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
18. And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
