I think when dismantling a futurist you have to do a handful of things..

1. Point out the near/soon wording of Revelation 1 and 22.
2. Point out time period language Jesus uses in the Olivet Discourse to show that the destruction of the temple/Jerusalem was expected in their time.
3. Point out that the destruction in AD 70 of the temple/Jerusalem is a HUGE BIG deal. The type of deal that would make Joe Biden make certain remarks.
4. Point out the historical events that line up with Daniels weeks.

Unfortunately I don't have the patience to do that in this kind of format. I'm not a huge copy and paster, or quote and answer backer.

Most of it. I think once John mentions the 1000 years, that's a BIG clue to them that' it's gonna be a while til the stuff after it takes place..ie the return of jesus..new heavens and new Earth.

I'm hesitant to jump in here, what with Zone being armed with 3287 copy/pastes.

The book of Revelation hasn't even started, and won't, until Christians are outa here. The seven year trib is real, and will happen. It will suck.

Can you tell I'm a premillennialist?

When Christ was walking the earth, everyone thought the end would be coming soon. The disciples talked about it, Jesus talked about it. When Christ ascended, the disciples were expecting him to return soon. "Lord, wilt thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" (paraphrased) I believe that by the time Christ ascended, God had told him at least part of His plan for this age of grace we are now living in. It's been 1980 years or so, and He still hasn't returned.

The book of Revelation is written to believers who will be left after the Christian church is gone, and things revert to jew/gentile. It has a "jewish" flavor to it, and mentions synagogues, etc. The seven letters are written to "angels" of the churches. We have nothing like that today. Also, believers during that time are told they must "endure till the end" to be saved. For Christians, we are born of holy spirit, incorruptible seed. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8:28ff)

This time we are living in, this age of grace, God's mystery, is truly unique and wonderful. Everyone wants to lump Christians in with the gospels, and Revelation.

We don't fit.

Believers are PART of the Church. Who are the believers that are left behind?
