Which verses specifically teach the existence of Nephilim?
The two mentioned. Gen. 6:4 and Numbers 13:33. Of course, since we are working in Hebrew, we may not have an accurate English translation of the term.

That depends on what you believe nephilim to be.
Just give a simple list.

Your belief in their existence must come from somewhere in the Bible.
Where is that somewhere?...ie...lemme see a verse or list of verses.

We can go from there.
Any discussion without concrete Bible reference is just speculation.

Ok so

Gen 6:4
Numbers 13:33

Any other ones you can think of that have formed your solid belief in the existence of Nephilim?

I'm just trying to get a nice core set of verses established, so we can actually look at what the Bible says, instead of all the speculatin some folks enjoy doin.

I agree. But no amount of verses posted would change neither yours nor my mind if at first we do not communicate our basic understanding of "who or what" they are.

Whatever name the bible you use, what do you see them as? I can post many verses, but from a common sense point of view, I'd like to hear your understanding of them.

Let's start with a list of verses.
I'm really not one of for speculating.

Got a list?

If you look for the root word, nefal, or its root palal, you will get enough to run around in circles for many weeks. nephalim=Strongs 5303, nephal=5307, palal=6419. These words justify the statements I made originally, which are extracted from the Jewish commentaries which tell an expanded story. The commentaries are not Scripture, but they can be made to answer for the "gods" from before the flood found n Egypt, Sumeria, China, etc.

If you do not go that direction, you have only the two verses. Read them in Hebrew, and you will get a different story from what is commonly taught, but does not contradict what I am saying. The nephilim created the giants, and some giants survived the flood, or were recreated after the flood by other nephilim.

Ok.

Can you give a list of verses that you believe the English have translated wrongly, but are in fact about Nephilim?

Again, just trying to get a core base here.

Yeah I'm not interested in Jewish commentaries on it.
Those could be traditions of men.
Also, the Jewish commentaries you reference, do they acknowledge Jesus as Messiah?
If not, why should we listen to them?

Again I want a springboard that only involves Bible.
Let's start with Bible and go from there, and hold the commentaries and traditions of men.

Well jackrabbit is not in ancient text either but arnevet, that is Hebrew for hare. Looking at your icon they do exist, hmmm, on big enough to heard cattle or be ridden by a human like one would a horse. To the point, jackrabbit is native to America and the term by which Americans refer to it as a particular species of rabbit or hare; e.g. cottontail rabbit. Ancient Hebrew text refer to what English folk call Nephilim. Interesting response though.

Yeah but we're talking potential spiritual beings here.

People use your type of argument to justify alotta weird stuff.

Oh Star Wars isn't in the Bible, but either are surfing dinosaurs with pink bears on their backs.
If star wars isn't in the Bible and it exists, then so do surfing dinosaurs with pink bears on their backs?

Your line of reasoning can be used to justify a whole lotta funky stuff.
And since we're talking actual spiritual beings here, and not jack rabbits, I think it's smart to have some Biblical backing.

Don't worry about feeling comfortable.
Honestly, I'm trying to discover this with you all.
But in order to discover stuff, we need to find the Biblical references first.

I'm fine with most Bible translations.
I personally use the HCSB.

Well the picture you posted is not biblical, pretty sure...

They were the giants recorded in the Bible.the word is also used, the prime. to say fallen angles, there are no more giants. but there are still fallen angles.

Rev 12:9

So if we were going to make a list of Bible verses that were about Nephilim, you'd put Revelation 12:9 on that list?

What concerns me is that people seem to have some VERY firm beliefs in spiritual beings, but not many Bible verses are being provided.

What is being provided are references to Jewish commentaries, arguments about jack rabbits not being in the Bible, and other speculations.

If one has a firm belief in some type of spiritual being, shouldn't they be able to provide more Biblical proof to start off with?

If all folks have are speculations, Jewish commentaries, and odd comparisons to the jack rabbit in my avatar..well I find that concerning!

Doesn't the bible say - they existed at that time (before the flood) and after?
It does not say they will continue to exist forever.
For me the suggestion in the Bible is that Goliath and his brothers are the last and that it scares the poop out of Saul
But David says - God say we should take on the enemies of God head on....

From what God has let us know with science (which means knowledge) surely we could see that the Nephelim (which MEANS bullies or tyrants- look it up) might have been forcing nice girls (the Jewish stock that the OT is all about) to interbreeding?
God thought no! - ends up in big tough guys who are of the line of Adam I planned for better things...
Cleanse it all - it went wrong.
But rather than start afresh or never bother, Noah's goodness though we could have a seed here that will work.
