Is it just me or are there a plethora of people claiming to have received "new revelations" from their said Jesus and their said God. Just look on the internet for instance, there all over the place!
I received the Jesus Christ of John's Revelation. I won't receive anyone else's Jesus. But there are so many books, websites, cd's etc. of people claiming to have hidden truths revealed to them from their said Jesus or their said God. I'ts literally out of control!
Another thing, they never seem to be able to agree on anything. Not only that they usually don't have their positions supported by scripture and if they do it is their interpretation or taken out of context.
They say, "follow me! I will support your lifestyle, see I do it, I'm ok, I'm saved!" Or, "believe MY Jesus and what MY Jesus just revealed to me or your not saved," and the like.
How does someone discern! People follow people! People like to hear what they want to hear. Believe me, if someone wants to hear something they can find someone who will tell them exactly what they want to hear.
Honest question that I ask myself, where is your faith, in the word of God and the Revelation of Jesus Christ or someone else's Jesus?
Why doesn't anyone say they received the Jesus of John's Revelation?
Is it always implied?
Am I the only one who makes an effort to say this?

It calls for greater discernment on our part. Remember, a good study Bible is all you really need. Computers have an off switch for a reason.

Thanks, Bab.!This was possibly the most helpful relevant post I got addressing my concern about which you have noticed for yourself. Yes. Saturate in the Word of God. Very Good advice. I will add, seems like everyday someone pops out of nowhere and says "this is what jesus is telling me, you have to believe Me" or "God told me this and you have to believe me."Not only this but, "buy my book, my dvd, my cd, to reveal hidden truth." Word of warning to anyone if you paid for it it wasn't free. Salvation is a free gift, what are you buying these things for?No thanks. I pass. Jesus Christ of Revelation is My Lord and Savior. [I am not denying other scripture] Please don't attack me! Thanks Bab. for trying to rerail this derailed train! Maybe just maybe others will follow suit. The Jesus of John's Revelation is a one-sided picture of Jesus. That is why we have the Gospels. To balance the picture. 'Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke on you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.' This is the other side of Jesus. If we miss out on this we miss the essence of Jesus, and an essential reason why He came.
Without the Gospels as the foundation the Jesus of Revelation can be made into what He is not.
As for the rest. Seek your truth in the Scriptures only for it is only in them that you will find truth.
The Old Testament books were not picked by a Pope. I might be wrong but as far as I know none of those books in the Protestant Bible were picked by one. The Old Testament or Tanakh as the Jews name it was officially selected as being sacred scripture by a council of Rabbis in the second century. Most if not all the books were recognized centuries before then. However the early church used the Greek version of the Old Testament that included what is known to Protestants as the Apocrypha. These books are officially recognized as scripture by the Catholic and Eastern orthodox church today.

U obviously don't understand what the word fear means. U say the Bible is mind control (thank God for this) but what else do u have that leads you to the Heavenly Father. God says His word testifies of Him. U say we are brain washed. What are u reading that is better than the Holy Word of God the Bible ( U will never find any book better that even compares with it) ? Have u done a deep study of the origin of words in the Bible also studying the Word of God in context?
Wanna know how to see "love" (God's love) in the Bible? Learn that in God's understanding, history is not just a linear progression of facts built upon a succession of past events. But rather (because of all time having "already existed", or "existing now"... and also "then",so to speak,) history is actually created by what we humans understand as "the future."
Yes, a couple of you will get this immediately, but so will the rest if you are willing to ponder on it awhile.

"revelations" come constantly to a believer walking in the spirit.
The bible is "coded". It takes the OT to unravel /unpack the NT.
Sit under solid proven teachers.(another can of worms here unfortunately)

I want to address a big misunderstanding. I see the three of you have jumped to the conclusion that I deny all other scripture, when I say I hold to The Revelation of Jesus Christ as the Word of God. I never said I denied other scripture. Nor did the thought even cross my mind when I wrote this post.
It seems to me that some individuals would rather assume, judge, or manipulate what someone else seems to have said, when instead should simply ask more questions to see where that individual is coming from and what he or she in fact believes.
Popping in and out of forums to simply disagree and pass judgement is not, in anyway, a part of edifying the body of Christ.

Unless it is supported by the Word of God it is your opinion. Let me hold to the Word of God which is The Revelation of Jesus Christ, and all other scripture. Also please stop suggesting what I should do personally, i.e. "sit under solid proven teachers."
Thanks to those instead of passing judgment overlooked my human mistakes and gave me an honest answer to my questions. Not only that these individuals retrained themselves from giving me personal advice. Thank you.
