Do you believe that loving God and others is work? I ask this because loving God and loving others is keeping God's Commandments, according to Jesus.

The Mosaics were many. The Commandments that we are to live by are the above two.
I don't believe that 'salvation by works' is a term that is actually defined in the Bible, though modern Christians equate the term with 'salvation through the abiding by Mosaic law'.

Loving God and loving others (which we are told is a summary of God's commandments) is not the same as living under Mosaic law, so no it does not constitute work in the sense described above.

Mosaic law and God's commandments have been confused by countless people in this thread.

We are reconciled with God through belief in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are told to
1. Have faith in Jesus, AND
2. Do our best to stop sinning and rebelling against God

We will never be able to stop sinning because of our imperfect nature and so we will never be able to reach the standard of God through any works.

BUT, the point of this thread is that if we do not consciously turn away from sin and do our best to stop rebelling against God once we accept Jesus into our lives, Jesus' sacrifice will not cover those sins:

Hebrews 10:26
"Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins".
I agree with this. The title of the thread had me thinking that you believed that works brought about salvation. I'm glad this has finally been cleared up.

If you believe that, you have not understood the point of this thread, even after 11 pages.

Don't just read the thread title, but the content too!

That is what you said correct? If you do not do your best to stop sinning after you accepted Jesus, your sins will not be covered by Jesus?

Thank you.

I think there are a LOT of people who have just read the thread title without keeping up with the content of the thread itself, hence their misunderstanding.

But I quoted the contents of your reply to my question
Just go and read post #237.
It's only on the previous page (page 12).
Doing so will give you and understanding of what is being said in this thread.

Look, we are both unified in Christ.
I implore you to just read post #237.

Yes it says if you do not do your best to stop sinning after you are saved by faith, Jesus would not cover those sins.

That was what you said right?

Do your best is the key, humbly repent when you fail.

You care to explain the argument in bold then?

That's correct.

Now read post #242 (and specifically the quote contained within it).
Post #242 is on this page, above.

Thanks for confirming.

That is equivalent to saying our part in doing our best"is necessary for the salvation to be maintained

When DBurrage gets to Heaven he is going to tell Moses and Abraham the tales of how he never broke the 10 commandments and preserved his own salvation without anyone's help. Christ will be diminished, DBurrage will exalt his works.
Amen... ... and those that came to Jesus stating "Lord, Lord" and boasting.... He stated depart from me I never knew you

No it isn't.

Obeying God's commandments isn't the same as having to do work for salvation.
Be careful not to conflate the two.

I have already asked to to look as posts 242 and 237.
Please stop picking an argument, and try to understand.

Okay, let me clarify what you are saying.

If some of my sins are not covered by Jesus's sacrifice, am I still saved?

Boasting is definitely a big no-no. We can all agree about that.
