Matthew 5:21-26

21 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’
22 But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,
24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Your making me dizzy with your hate, You have lost the ability to make any sense.

Why do you not just put me on ignore.. it is obvious I have a negative impact on you and have done something to make you mad..

Just for all to see, this is me begging him to ignore me, and notice, I never said I would say ignore him or even offered.

I wont listen to rebukes? Smh whatever, I have apologized many times.

I just ignored two more I guess. Have t add another.

it is always me,, just like with Peter, whatever. Have a good night!

if someon says something I disagree with, I WILL GIVE MY OPINION,

that is is not an attack, if people do not like it TO BAD!

it is ok for them but not me? What ever!

I have gently rebuked peter more than once. If he was here, he would tell you this because he is so open with us it sometimes shocks us and he doesn't know how to hide anything. :) He has thanked me by pm. I gave a gentle rebuke to a young man in here today who was drawn into the poking sarcasm. He thanked me too. (He is quite dear and I find myself jealously guarding him in prayer :)) Another very mature christian woman in here received a gentle rebuke from me a day or two ago and thanked me. She has been such a help to all of us that I have carefully guarded her in prayer also that she not get pulled down.)
But you, EG, you have been prayed for with more tears than anyone. I don't know what to do to help you see what you are doing to yourself and what peace could be yours if you lay down your pride and if you obey our Lord and stop defending yourself. I don't know how to help you so I just cry and pray some more for you.

yeah whatever, as always you defend them

if their answer is no, their response was meaningless,

why? Because the questions of woks is not a question if as I said a person who has no faith has no works, thus will not get to heaven,

plus, they claim one can have works and still not get to heaven (lost salvation) since at one time a person had faith he must have had works,

but it I guess that means nothing to you, they agree with you so you will defend them at all costs.
Woks?!? we're talking about woks now?!?

What's Chinese woks have to do with our salvation?

I don't own a wok..... am I going to make it?!?

Woks are necessary for salvation.
You better get one before it's too late!

Fran you may disagree with me but to be honest I honestly would say that most on here are saying that faith saves and works will and should follow.

I think the problem is the dichotomy of faith, works, justification and sactifiaction.

Most of us know that faith saves, and as a result works should follow (we must be very very careful though to judge the level of works one expects to see, people grow at different rates)

I think part of the problem is understanding what is considered works and the reason why we do the works Jesus has asked us to do, those works God has prepared before we came to faith.

Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

There is no denying that good works for those in Jesus we are to do.

But what are those good works and what is the reason we do those good work?

I have seen posted here a few times that good works are not committing the vile sins of the flesh and not sinning.
I have seen posted that good works keep us saved.

To me that is wrong, the focus is wrong. It takes the focus of Jesus and places a burden on us and I would say the focus of others.

I would not say that affects our salvation but will affect the glorious results of works that Jesus wants us to do.

Jesus said

Matthew 22:37-40

37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

but Jesus take it further

Matthew 5:44-48
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

To me if we love God with all we have then we will love our brothers and sisters, we will love our enemies.

The fruit of the spirit will increase.

As the fruit increases our works will increase and that includes crucifying the vile sins of the flesh as some focus on, loving each other and also loving our enemies.

Good works are done because of love and not to earn love.

Lets be honest if we did goods works to be loved then we are not doing goods works as a result of love.

When Jesus separates the sheep and the goats what his is judgement based on.

Matthew 25:34-40
34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

To me maybe the judgment by Jesus relates to

Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Too late to discuss.
I've had enough abuse here.

I'll only say that you've stated MUCH incorrect theology above.
If you read my posts, you should know my beliefs.
If you don't by now,,,you never will.

You have lasted more than three years now, so it cannot be true for you, surely :) What was said is not a statement of truth for all, but the person who made it seems to show they believe they are insensitive, since they have lasted coming up on eight years! Also, God wants us to be sensitive to others, but not at the expense of truth. Sadly, people seem to confuse the two.
Guess what..... I haven't said anything to you all day.

You must be bored.

BTW, who are you to talk about insensitivity when at a moment's notice you can chew a person up & spit them back out?

You don't sound very sensitive right now.

On a discussion forum, I really wonder if rebukes are appropriate anyway.
If you have offended me I would just let you know privately...seems like the mature thing to do.

I do not think we need to leave our personality at the door, Paul was pretty rough around the edges too does not mean he sinned.

Not saying you are rough around the edges, I just think you are straight up and and do not play games...I am cool with that.

Ok I just want to give my thoughts on the above. Please note I am not going at you.

EG is passionate about what he believes and what has set him free to believe what he his now.
I think he is not defending himself but what has set him free and he wants that for others. He is zealous to see people set free in Jesus in order to be the people Jesus has called them to be.

We all get it wrong and in fact I know that EG will hold his hands up when he gets it wrong.
A couple of nights ago when I got upset he actually disagreed with me but was gentle with it.

If memory serves me it was about working to please God and I got upset because I felt If the only purpose I had in life was to please God then I couldn't do it so may as well give up, because I know what I'm like and if I didn't work enough then God would not be pleased with me.

He actually rebukes me but I have to say in a kind and loving way.

The problem is when we feel attacked and made to feel stupid.
I will also say that when he has got it wrong at times he has apologised.

I think the issue that we all need to get over is that we walk humbly with those that are on the same wavelength and not so or are not. Either ways barriers go down and barriers go up.

EG if I have misrepresented you please correct me.

I have given gentle rebukes to others in here but you don't notice it because they take them with a calm and peaceful spirit EG. They don't start a 5 page rant and if they think I have been wrong in my assessment, they forgive me, and they do it without a word. They don't even let me know they think I need to be forgiven. And sometimes, especially if they are mature, I put the gentle rebuke in the open, knowing that they will know I did so for the good of the younger ones. And they aren't embarrassed by it - they rejoice that I loved them enough to counsel them. They would do the same for me if I lost control of my flesh. I know they would. I know they would because they are walking in the Spirit in love.

The other aspect to the book of Hebrews in connection to Hebrews 10:27 is that m
ankind is all "sanctified/set apart" for the gospel as far as God is concerned. It's up to us to believe it to receive the gospel of the grace of Christ.

Hebrews 10:29 is stating this fact that all man-kind has been set apart or sanctified for the gospel of Christ. Reject Christ sacrifice and there remains no more sacrifice for sins.

Hebrews 10:29 (NASB)
[SUP]29 [/SUP] How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Reject Christ's sacrifice for sins and there remains no more sacrifice for sins for "Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world".

The Jews after receiving the "knowledge of Jesus" were going back to the temple for the sacrifices for their sins. This is insulting the Spirit of grace and putting the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ as a "common" thing.

Remember the word "sanctified" means to be set apart for a purpose.

Here Paul is taking about beingthe husband who is an unbeliever as being sanctified because of the wife.

1 Corinthians 7:14 (NASB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband; for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.

( This simply means the family is "set apart" for receiving the benefits of the believing wife brings as to the promises of God concerning the family. Each one will have to receive Christ on their own in order to receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. )
Hi Grace...Can you explain to me in your last comment where you said " Each one will have to receive Christ on their own "...The reason i am asking is because it is God who calls us, puts the desire in our hearts, calls us to His Son, just want to check because i don`t understand what you have written here, do you mean they will go out of their own way to seek Him, i don`t understand...xox...

Also for those who use this ever popular, hook, reel,no response trick,it is wrong to do biblically and morally, because getting someone worked up then watching them respond to get some laughs,is willful intentional "mischief" and "lieing in wait" so please in respect to God stop doing this,he doesn't find just antics funny and neither do I!

sorry about that meant to say "such" not "just" and not enough time to fix error.

Well I am going to jump in cause I do not feel like doing my work....and I know Grace won't mind (I hope)and probably say it better than me and I hope you do not mind.

God draws all men/women to himself, he wants all to be saved, but it is up to each and everyone of us to respond to the calling.

Even though a family member is sanctified (set apart) because we are a believer, they still have to make their own decision for Christ, believe the gospel message for themselves.

I have read your posts and I know your beliefs.
You have read mine and you know mine.

When you can please explain why my theology is incorrect.

Meggido as you have agreed with Fran then maybe you can do the same.

Fran I have never ever abused you.
Makes me sad that you think I have.
