2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

The seal that seals the deal is this, that all who name the name of Christ has to depart from iniquity.

1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

It is obvious that we have to abstain from sin to be right with God,for sin separates us from God,whether we claim Christ,or not.

But some do not have the knowledge of God,and abstaining from sin is what seals the saint to inherit eternal life.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

By the Spirit we can abstain from sin,for there is no ways of the flesh there, because the person hates sin,and does not want sin.

If a person sins it is because they want to sin,not they cannot abstain from sin,and it is obvious that sin does affect our relationship with God,for that is the seal that seals the saints.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

They sin on purpose, and hold unto sin,and think they are alright with God,but they are not,and the sacrifice of Jesus cannot wash it away, for God will not take away what they want to hold unto.

2Ti 3:4 lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2Ti 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Some have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof, and believe they are alright despite their sin,and reprobate concerning the faith.

They say they cannot abstain from sin,and sin does not affect their relationship with God,but sin does affect our relationship with God.

They do not have the proper perspective of faith.

1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Charity is greater than faith.

Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Faith works by love, which means we have to have love, before faith can apply.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

We are saved by grace through faith,so we have to have faith before grace can apply.

We have to have love, before faith can apply, for grace to apply.

Lack in love, lack in faith, lack in grace, and no salvation.

Charity is greater than faith.

1Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Charity does not think an evil thought, and does not sin,and is not selfish, and not arrogant.

Lack in love,lack in faith.

1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Paul said without charity,we are nothing, and we err from the faith.

Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James said without charity, our faith is dead.

1Jn 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
1Jn 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

John said without charity, the love of God does not dwell in us.

Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

They left their first love, the love of people, which they were fallen, and Jesus told them to repent, and do the first works,or He would remove their candlestick out of its place.

Charity is greater than faith.

Charity does not think an evil thought, and does not sin.

That is the seal that seals the saints, that they depart from iniquity, but not all have the knowledge of God.

2Pe 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2Pe 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
2Pe 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Luk 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

These people did not depart from God,and Jesus, they went back to enjoying sin,the old lifestyle, and thus became dirty like a pig that was clean went back to the mud.

Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

This is not talking about departing from God,and Jesus, but they fell to unbelief by the deceitfulness of sin.

If a person is saved, all their sins washed away, and they do not want sin,and allow the Spirit to lead them, and then go back to the old lifestyle, and enjoy sin again, they fell to unbelief, for those that truly believe, and know the truth, know not to sin by the Spirit.

That is a given that every saint should understand, for how do you not understand sin does affect our relationship with God,when Jesus came to take away our sins, for that is how much God does not want us to sin,and sin separates us from God,whether we confess Christ,or not.

A person does not have to depart from God,and Jesus, but the deceitfulness of sin causes them to fall to unbelief.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Some people when they confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, did not even depart from sin right from the get go,but thought they were alright by asking God to forgive them for past sins, but still held unto the ways of the world thinking the blood of Christ was washing them away, although they were holding unto sin.

These people did not even start in belief to fall to unbelief, because all along they thought they were alright enjoying the ways of the world, and it did not have any bearing on losing their salvation.

Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

The seal that seals the deal,is everyone that confesses Christ has to depart from iniquity.

Charity is greater than faith, and charity does not think an evil thought, and does not sin.

Lack in charity,lack in faith.
Who are "some people" where's your proof. You have such a hateful view of people and the world we live in. And your post is flooding not helpful to the body of Christ. Do you even know these people who you have passed judgment on or are they fictional characters.

You said;
"Some people when they confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, did not even depart from sin right from the get go,but thought they were alright by asking God to forgive them for past sins, but still held unto the ways of the world thinking the blood of Christ was washing them away, although they were holding unto sin.

Ppl can not grasp the crystal clear truth that if we add one thing, however small it is, to the gospel, it constitutes it as being a work, ergo, a works based salvation.

What I mean is they put the onus upon themselves believing, and by their continuing on in belief ensure their salvation, not the cross of the Christ. So, by the onus being upon themselves, it constitutes their staying in belief as a work. And work and grace mix as well as...

The saved will remain saved, not they possess powers in and of themselves to stay on the straight and narrow, but that we have been given faith, and we can't lose this faith like ppl do their car keys. Hmmm, where did I lose those keys? Guys???

We do not have to rely on ourselves to keep ourselves strong, seeing we are not. When we are confronted by Satan's minions and try to fight them on our own, we will lose every time.

But when we continually trust God and get out of His way, we will win every time. And He will makes us victorious in Him as He fights the battle on our behalf, and those minions have to retreat.

So, don't worry about losing your faith and returning to the darkness of sin. Don't despair with the thoughts of losing your salvation.

I agree with something above... we can not add one work to the Gospel... that is True.. if we start adding our own works we would not be Faithful but going about to earn Salvation rather than have Faith in the Good Shepherd to lead us home... We should do what the Messiah instructs and not add anything but believe His Word and Trust Him to guide us Home doing what He Teaches us to do.

not add but also not reduce. Bible say in matt 25 if you not help the needy you not save.

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

To those who hold to this false notion that the onus is on them remaining faithful or risk forfeiting their faith and returning to the world of damned souls, I have some great news.

Take courage and be strong.

Your salvation is not based upon what you do or do not do, but what the Christ did.

Not one thing can you add to this, or one thing you can subtract from it. It was all of His doing. He did this for His ppl, as the angel so aptly told Joseph in a dream "You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”[Matthew 1:21]

Also, He has put His name on the line and will not have it ruined by weak creatures such as you and I. As the old Prophet so correctly wrote it “Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. “For My own sake, for My own sake, I will act; For how can My name be profaned? And My will I not give to another.[Isaiah 48:10,11] He has put His name on the line, and will not have it profaned by those who say they can stop believing and return to the deep, dark cave of sin. Hello?? Anybody in there??

So, rejoice in knowing your salvation is secure in Him and not you.

May we all say "amen".

Ppl who trust in themselves and their own ability to remain saved will say that God is sovereign and then quickly do this...

Then when you ask them who maintains their salvation for them they swiftly say...

They will not have the Sovereign be Lord of their lives, as that means they are no longer sovereign. They can not have God and themselves upon the throne, so they oust Him from off of His throne.

They are like this men Jesus spoke about when He said ‘We do not want this man to reign over us.’ [Luke 19:14b]

But rejoice in knowing your salvation is in His hands.

The error of additional theology.

The lie, falsehood, heresy, total and utter stupidity, is to say, forget everything you
have taken as authoritative, if it does not meet this idea, it is rubbish.

Listen to Paul. If you want to celebrate sabbaths and festivals, Amen, but do not bind
others to it, we are free.

If you eat food sacrificed to idols because it is just food, amen, but if your brother gets
upset about this, it is sin to do it without taking their conscience and heart into consideration.

We all need lessons in Christ to learn, specific to ourselves and where we are.
To resist Gods will is sin, but it can be difficult to work through these things.

So our relationship with God is dynamic and other than obvious sin, others should just encourage
and build each other up. But to deny this reality, to deny the need for the narrow path,
the constraints and balances, is to not know Christ.

The fact this means so so so so much to some, shows how ignorant of what entering in really
means.

We are servants, He is our Lord. We are not free to do as we like or want, we must follow.

But if you have never entered in or known the embrace of this love, not surprising it is like a
birthday come early. It is like the jailer has opened the jail and said do what you like, the
tab is on me. The only kingdom I know of like this is not the Kingdom of God.

Hebrews 4

8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God didfrom his. 11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things arenaked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast ourprofession. 15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hold fast and Labour into..

Believe and do what the Lord instructs....

It is Trusting GOD by hearing and doing...

Evil hunters, rooter out of terrible things

We are told two things. Follow Christ, do not list to false teachers.

Funnily a group has arisen which says do not listen to Jesus but listen to these teachers.

Now they define the gospel their way. Then they define what is not the gospel and what is
the gospel and then demonise the people with the not gospel.

This is strange because Jesus just needs talking about, and we need to just listen to what
He tells us. The gospel will grow and flow from that.

And amen to denominations, building on the insights and experience of others to the benefit
of the whole. It takes years to see the strength of some and why they emphasis this and not
that, and each has its point. Only the rebellious and those pompous in their own eyes want
to establish their own way, without regard for the learning and history of others.

Most who established a church did so because the existing structures rejected their move
of God, and the new expression just needed buildings in which to meet. The new will always
replace the old, and take it in a new direction, based on what society has now come to.

We are a product of opportunity, discussion, wealth, education, pressure, technology,
communication. These mold and form our days. This discussion for instance is a product
of the internet and its ability to link people from around the world. Praise the Lord that
He uses all and everything to bring glory to His name.

Was a winning lotto ticket that got lost not really worth a lifetime of winnings because it got lost? Of course not. But that is the flawed reasoning that so many people apply to eternal life.

The lost ticket continues to be worth a lifetime of winnings. I just don't possess those winnings anymore because I lost the ticket. The value of it didn't change because I lost it.
Eternal salvation based upon the faith that JESUS starts, finishes and completes is not comparable to a lottery ticket.....and to be frank...devalues the eternal GIFT of life everlasting.....wow.....

Seriously, how is my believing in the sufficiency of Christ me denying the sufficiency of Christ? It wasn't that when I first started the believing I'm doing now. Should I stop so I won't be denying the sufficiency of Christ anymore and instead by saved by the sufficiency of Christ--the sufficiency of Christ I stopped believing in?
No sense in engaging one who denies truth to say one can quit Jesus and lose salvation....are you seriously that dense that you cannot understand the words begins, finishes and COMPLETES, saved to the uttermost and KEPT by God's power....YOU must deny everything I just said to embrace your vanilla twist café blend false gospel....

Ppl can not grasp the crystal clear truth that if we add one thing, however small it is, to the gospel, it constitutes it as being a work, ergo, a works based salvation.
Adding faith to the cross, even faith the size of a mustard seed, in no way constitutes a works gospel. In fact, you MUST add faith to the cross to be saved. There is no other way to access the cross except by faith.

...we can't lose this faith like ppl do their car keys.
Oh, yes they can. Some just flat throw away their faith. Some through contempt for the free gift (watching Game of Thrones, etc.) are deceived into thinking they still trust in Christ despite their contemptuous rejection of the grace of God, their own actions denying God's grace.

We do not have to rely on ourselves to keep ourselves strong, seeing we are not. When we are confronted by Satan's minions and try to fight them on our own, we will lose every time.
That's why we are to take up THE SHIELD OF FAITH! (Ephesians 6:16)
But you say that's trying to earn our own salvation.

But when we continually trust God and get out of His way, we will win every time.
"But when we continually trust God...". That's having faith. You said it's me trying to save myself if I do that. Now you're telling me to do the exact thing you have been telling me is me trying to save myself.

"If you could lose your salvation, you would." Dr. John MacArthur
That's why we have God's help.
If it was left entirely to me to sustain my own believing I would most certainly have been lost long ago. He hasn't left us as orphans. We have his ever present help to keep us believing and trusting in him to the very end. Reject that help and you will indeed fall, and fall hard. You will be lost.

Christ's cross can only save all by itself when and only when you access it by faith--that is, your believing. The sufficiency of Christ is applied through faith. And last time I checked faith (believing) was in no way shape or form a work of the damnable works gospel as you people are insisting it is. In fact, Paul expressly contrasted believing with works to be justified. Do you have a scripture to show I've been wrong about this and believing really is a work of the damnable works gospel?

You cannot help but spread deceit and falsehoods hey.....really proves who leads you.....we consistently point 100% to Jesus and his sufficiency and you and your cronies constantly point to self and works while devaluing the cross of Calvary, the imputed righteousness of Christ. You twist what we say, misrepresent what we say and absolutely stand against Jesus by your stance Peter.

Scripture tells us this:

James 1

9Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: 10But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. 11For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

So Jesus is:

Hebrews 5

7Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 8Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; 10Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

So we do not say so what and offer what David said to prove a point but know that it all works together in GOD's perfect harmony..

We are Trusting in Christ by loving and obeying Him.

Simplicity of Christ being kept by the Power and Grace of GOD.

So no one denies your 3 Statements.. but we become living proof of His Grace and Mercy and are to Keep His Testimony.

There is no twist on my part.. I'm sharing honestly.

Stop attacking everyone who offer different beliefs.. by all means edify with the Truth where you are able.. but you go through the posts that you disagree with and accuse..

I read believers sharing the works of their Lord yet you try to trample like they are in error.

If you want to apply those verses you hold to then go find those under the law..

We are under Grace at liberty to love and obey in Christ.

So no one denies your 3 Statements.. but we become living proof of His Grace and Mercy and are to Keep His Testimony.

Sure he does....HE STATES clearly that ONE can quit and walk away lost....the bible does not teach that....JESUS FINISHES and COMPLETES every work of faith HE began in anyone.....they may end up like the prodigal and waste their inheritance through rioteous living, they may end up like the Corinthian brother cut lose for the destruction of the flesh, they may end up with works of wood, hay and stubble that gets torched yet they will remain saved....ONCE CHRIST begins a work of faith in someone he WILL COMPLETE it and FINISH IT...to say otherwise is to call JESUS and liar, a fraud and incapable of FINISHING that which he has began.....regardless of how one twists it.....!
