Small world, that is where I drove to from Fallon, NV, where we bought our mini-dachshund. That gave a whole new meaning "miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles". I too got very used to the Jets taking off in Fallon. I lived about two miles from the Top Gun School. I moved to Lincoln, NE after my wife passed away in the fall of 2015. I sure miss hearing those fighters take off.

Thanks for sharing VCO, hold on to those wonderful memories they will take you to a more pleasant time, sorry for your loss, I know she was dear to your heart. I'm so concerned about my wife today because I have stage 4 prostate cancer. People who lose there spouse are very special to God. God bless you my brother in Christ.

As far as I am concerned if the person relies solely upon the work of Christ and being robed in His righteousness for salvation, that, since it is good enough for God, it's most definitely good enough for me!
Yes, continue to rely solely on the work of God in Christ for salvation. That's what we are to do. But for some reason that's being touted as a works gospel. How strange! As far as I know there was not a hint of such absurdity in the church when I first got saved. I think this craziness grew out of the nutty ministries that gained national prominence in the '90s.

Its not our reliance upon the Christ that keeps us saved. We rely on Him because we ARE saved.

The power that drew you to the Cross and His blood...is the same power that will keep you. You died with Him that day, whether or not you acted as if you did...truth is, He put you to death with Him.

Now risen with Him...walk in Him...in Spirit. Flesh is crucifed so just be who He has made you. Through His power.

If others fail...you keep on. It's only the flesh that fails and we don't know who exactly has died with Christ until the testing.

Exactly...and one who has a great test record of the gift of healing just posted on facebook that healing and all things come this way..Not by our faith...or our great faith...but by Jesus.

Once you believe and are born again you would not dare write such things...
The ease with which people talk against Jesus, His word and His people and yet claim to know
Him.

First take it makes you think, maybe I missed something. Next, there is something wrong with these
guys, and finally they are totally indoctrinated in their easy believism.

And if you do not think it is easy, just ask how simple it would be to accept their position.
In a flash. It is why something easily gained is easily lost, because the roots have not even
gone into the surface.

If one has emotional and life insight, these superficial writing people off, for a few sentences
of expression show how their whole faith could be removed in 3 seconds and replaced with
something else. It is all just defences and labels, with no foundations.

Get on board and trust the Lord for daily bread. For all things.
It's crazy that today so many Christians think that when you do this you are trying to work to earn your own salvation. It's so absurd I can't believe this has any strength in the church today. But I think it's because the church has busied itself with bringing in so many unsaved people into the church thinking that is the way they are going to make converts. Instead it has ruined the church by bringing with the unsaved misguided and erroneous doctrines that tickle the ears of these rock concert....I mean, church attending unbelievers who aren't here to conform to the truth but to conform the truth to them.

I do believe that. That's why I continue to believe. He's the only way I can be saved. I can only continue to believe and be saved because of his power. He doesn't do my believing for me. He didn't when I first got saved. And he doesn't now. That's my responsibility. But I can only believe because he gives the gracious gift of faith--the ability to even know the gospel is true--to do that believing. That's why I can't boast in my believing. I can't do that on my own. I have to choose to rely on Christ to continually show me the gospel is true so I can then continue to trust in that truth.
Do you know what Mr Hart?

Even in my darkest days of struggles and even with the struggles I have today.
Even though have and still do at times cause me to doubt.
Doubt Gods love me and my love for him.
Even in the darkest days I would on one hand doubt he loved me and on the other and doubt he existed because my days were dark and no help seemed forthcoming.

My greatest fear amongst all of this was "Even in all this I couldn't comprehend life without him, if he doesn't exist then I am nothing but I know he is real and I know Jesus came to reveal that"

Your putting faith in YOUR ABILITY to continue to believe
This is the key right here. ^^^^^^

A misplaced......wrong faith

Where is the power of Christ Jesus in the life of the believer in this?

But I will say that if people are putting faith in themselves to continue to believe, then it naturally follows that they will be saying that others have abandoned the faith because they failed at continuing to believe

It is a very faulty understanding of the gospel and the good news

Your putting faith in YOUR ABILITY to continue to believe. Not in Jesus ABILITY to keep you in your faith.

Instead of trying to defeat OSAS (I really hate that term) WHy don't you try to dig deep inside your heart and understand why you refuse to place your faiht in Gods ability to do what he promised he would do. Like PERFECT you. Like CONTINUE to perform a good work in you until the day of Christ, And to wash you and make you clean.

Come on, stones, you know better than this. Jesus' greatness, as great as it indeed is, could not perform many miracles in his hometown because of the lack of faith of those people. Faith is in fact the one and only way to access the grace of God in Jesus. You know this. Over and over Jesus said, "by your faith you are healed".

The thing is...there's always that thing...:) is words like must, should, etc...then turn grace into law. That's my objection. Grace states what is through Jesus, His Cross, Resurrection, and now most important to us who desire to walk in glory...His ascension. When we know we have sat down with Him in Victory...then our life becomes that victorious overcoming life through His being above...and not beneath. And we live, move, have our very being from out of heaven. Why? Because we are in His body....In Him. In is a fixed postion...Where else would we go when we are loved so greatly by God? Kept safe!
