we do have much to do, because when you ARE saved, you are to be doing good works. not doing to STAY saved. we are saved by believing in the One God sent.
Good works is what believing in God, and having his love in you as a result, looks like:

"17But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?" (1 John 3:17 NASB)

That's how works are required in salvation. Works show that you are saved by "believing in the One God sent" (your quote). Yet there are so many people in the church who are taking false comfort in their dead faith--faith without works, insisting that the person who has dead faith (faith 'alone' with no works attached) also has the love of God in them.

...we are saved by believing in the One God sent.
It's interesting how when I say this I'm labeled a 'worker for' because 'believing' is a work of self-righteousness done to try to save oneself. But when you folks say it suddenly 'believing' is not a work of self righteousness.

by the way, Funny how you slammed on someone because they could not answer you about your car analogy, yet when I did, you ignored it.. That seems to happen a lot when people give you a response you can not overcome, be it me or others..
Where did you respond to my question?

But to read scripture and see all these warnings, only someone in unbelief would
not take them seriously or so insecure, even to think this was true their faith
and love in Christ would be up to question.

Unbelief (no faith) would be not a exclusive faith coming from God the faithful Creator .It would come from dead works offered towards a living God as a dead faith ....unable to do the works God requires, sinless perfection ..

This is like saying if you parent tells you off you are scared they are no longer your parent and do not love you. Very strange.

Our parents have not by a work of their faith towards their children paid the eternal wage .

Dead works require, dead faith. It fits the description of those who crucify Christ again and again as if one demonstration of His Spirit not seen fell short of the glory of God.

I think it is good that we defend the faith of Christ in a hope of being found pure that works in us to defend us. We should work to guard it with all of our new heart and new eternal spirit to keep them as long as we can but when we stumble in unbelief it does not make the faith of God as the work of God toward us without effect, . If that was the case. How could we let God not seen be true and every man seen, a liar?

For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief (no faith) make the "faith of God" (belief of God) without effect (the work) ? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.Rom 3:3

Deuteronomy 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

Not so for the "generation of Christ" (the new creatures) His work of faith is made know by him, toward us.

And how is it that you are "aware that the church at large is not teaching the gospel in the bible;

How could you possibly have such vast knowledge and we do not. Maybe I should tell my Pastor on Sunday that Mr Phart say's you are not teaching the gospel that is in the bible, yes!
Don't bother. The leadership is actually the most deafened and resistant to the real gospel. They're actually the ones who got us into this mess to begin with. So don't waste your time.

Phart i I would say that if Truthtalk is willing and genuine then bid him well in his act... For who knows what good could come of it?

If however it was was a sarcastic remark then never mind.

It is amazing that an abuser would think someone would be more open, unless they
really think their victims are that stupid, lol. But often victims with a good heart
think bullies and abusers will be nice if they know who their victims really are, when
in reality it will just get worse.

It is ironic how this works, but then abusers learn this from the cycle of abuse they
get into, and how to get away with it.

You have to think, on a public forum like this, you never know who is on the other
side and what they are like, but in Christ we always think the best, but we are wise
to know caution.
16“...I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves." (Matthew 10:16 NASB)

24But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people." (John 2:24 NASB)

"17But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him,how does the love of God abide in him?" (1 John 3:17 NASB)

Shall the work say to Him who formed it .You have no understanding of the things not seen?

Having a labor of His love as a work of His faith, yes.

Not having our love stemming from his work by satisfying the things of this world which are necessary for these bodies that will die is not the gospel. Again while we are to care for one another in respect to the things of this world as the things of men .

providing care for each other by blessing one another in respect to God's love is not the eternal gospel as the things of God.

But rather it offends God.

The gospel goes beyond what we see with our eyes all the way to eternity . His works provide for things beyond the what we see..and hear with our fleshly beings.

The gospel can be seen in the parable found in Luke 7 with John the Baptist ready to have his head cut off and in doubt which is not the opposite of faith unbelief is (no faith) ...John needed to have his faith given as confidence coming from God un-seen

When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight. Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. Luk 7:20

Food and care necessary for these bodies of death can aid but are never the source for the eternal . That food is to do the will of another, the kind of food the disciples knew not of and is why they could not cast of the lying spirits, as the true fast.

Actually it is a dead faith offered towards God as dead works .Faith cannot be without the works of Christ who dwells in us working to both will (faith) and do (works) his good pleasure.

It is the kind of fast that can drive out lying spirits, we are to love our neighbors by offering them food necessary for eternal life.

It's a good idea to leave it open for a while. I lost my connection for 3 months and got to missing my best friends all over the world a lot. CC is a wonderful thing that we take for granted until we lose it.

Amen.....it is finished was clear, sins of the whole world was clear, propitiation is clear......tragic that many say the cross is not enough.....we have at least 3 who flat deny the power and sacrifice of Jesus by their working for, I must keep myself saved rigmarole!
Do you suppose they take a coupon cutter and cut these verses out of their Bibles?

Philippians 1:6 (ASV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Daniel 9:18 (NKJV)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies.

MERCY is receiving what YOU DO NOT DESERVE, and GRACE is receiving what YOU CANNOT EARN.

Titus 3:4-7 (NKJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
[SUP]5 [/SUP] not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
[SUP]6 [/SUP] whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
[SUP]7 [/SUP] that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Galatians 2:16-21 (ESV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!
[SUP]18 [/SUP] For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
[SUP]21 [/SUP] I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
Romans 7:18-24 (CSBBible)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Now if I do what I do not want, I am no longer the one that does it, but it is the sin that lives in me.
[SUP]21 [/SUP] So I discover this law: When I want to do what is good, evil is present with me.
[SUP]22 [/SUP] For in my inner self I delight in God's law,
[SUP]23 [/SUP] but I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.
[SUP]24 [/SUP] What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

I highly suspect, THEY DO NOT HAVE A DEEP ENOUGH UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT ALL GOD CONSIDERS SIN.

And the FACT that one so-called small sin, makes you GUILTY of Braking ALL of GOD's LAW.

James 2:10 (CSBBible)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For whoever keeps the entire law, and yet stumbles at one point, is guilty of breaking it all.

Hebrews 8:1-2 (ESV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
[SUP]2 [/SUP] a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man.

Now most Christians MISS the significance of the statement that I underlined in verse 1. In the Earthly Temple, the HIGH PRIEST NEVER SAT DOWN, BECAUSE HIS WORK WAS NEVER FINISHED. BUT OUR HIGH PRIEST IN HEAVEN SAT DOWN, BECAUSE HIS WORK IS FINISHED.

Notice in the Earthly TEMPLE there are no places to sit, except the MERCY SEAT in the Holy of Holies, reserved for GOD.

It's interesting how when I say this I'm labeled a 'worker for' because 'believing' is a work of self-righteousness done to try to save oneself. But when you folks say it suddenly 'believing' is not a work of self righteousness.

You KEEP trying to relate good works to SALVATION, WHICH IS WORKS RIGHTEOUSNESS, a totally FALSE DOCTRINE.

Do you even understand that SALVATION and SANCTICATION are two totally different things?

SALVATION is the FINISHED work of JESUS CHRIST on the Cross and as our High Priest, HE POURED OUT HIS BLOOD AROUND THE BASE OF THE ALTAR IN HEAVEN, then HE SAT DOWN because SALVATION was a finished and totally COMPLETED WORK on HIS PART ONLY.

SANCTICATION is a life long striving on our Part with the help of the HOLY SPIRIT, to Walk like Jesus Walked, becoming more and more like CHRIST; BECAUSE WE LOVE HIM. THAT IS WHAT OUR GOOD WORKS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH, not SALVATION. Those good works, where we PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS, to become better and better at it, play no part in Salvation, but have everything to do with whether or not we will get rewards for those works when we get to Heaven.

SALVATION is not a REWARD, IT IS A FREE GIFT.

REWARDS are things like the Crowns (Laurel Wreath Crowns given to winning Athletes), possibly the Jobs we will have Serving Him in Heaven, perhaps even where we stand when we are gathered before HIM for worship, maybe even the choice of our Dwelling Place in the New City Jerusalem (personally I will be satisfied with a shack out back on the Crystal River, I just want to be in Heaven with Him), etc. BUT NEVER DO REWARDS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE FREE GIFT OF SALVATION.

Titus 3:7 (NKJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 (CSBBible)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw,
[SUP]13 [/SUP] each one's work will become obvious. For the day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire; the fire will test the quality of each one's work.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] If anyone's work that he has built survives, he will receive a reward.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] If anyone's work is burned up, he will experience loss, but he himself will be saved — but only as through fire.

HOW MUCH MORE PLAIN COULD GOD HAVE PHRASED IT?

Do not mix
Sanctification with Salvation, you CREATE a FALSE GOSPEL. Sanctification spawns out of LOVE FOR JESUS CHRIST. LOVE was poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, Rom. 5:5.
