Do you suppose they take a coupon cutter and cut these verses out of their Bibles?
Philippians 1:6 (ASV)
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Daniel 9:18 (NKJV)
[SUP]
18 [/SUP] O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for
we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds,
but because of Your great mercies.
MERCY is receiving what YOU DO NOT DESERVE, and GRACE is receiving what YOU CANNOT EARN.
Titus 3:4-7 (NKJV)
[SUP]
4 [/SUP] But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]
not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
[SUP]
6 [/SUP] whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
[SUP]
7 [/SUP] that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Galatians 2:16-21 (ESV)
[SUP]
16 [/SUP] yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
[SUP]
17 [/SUP] But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!
[SUP]
18 [/SUP] For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor.
[SUP]
19 [/SUP] For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.
[SUP]
20 [/SUP] I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
[SUP]
21 [/SUP] I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.
Romans 7:18-24 (CSBBible)
[SUP]
18 [/SUP] For
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it.
[SUP]
19 [/SUP] For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.
[SUP]
20 [/SUP] Now if I do what I do not want, I am no longer the one that does it, but it is the sin that lives in me.
[SUP]
21 [/SUP] So I discover this law: When I want to do what is good, evil is present with me.
[SUP]
22 [/SUP] For in my inner self I delight in God's law,
[SUP]
23 [/SUP] but I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.
[SUP]
24 [/SUP] What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?
I highly suspect, THEY DO NOT HAVE A DEEP ENOUGH UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT ALL GOD CONSIDERS SIN.
And the
FACT that one so-called small sin, makes you GUILTY of Braking
ALL of GOD's LAW.
James 2:10 (CSBBible)
[SUP]
10 [/SUP] For whoever keeps the entire law, and yet stumbles at one point,
is guilty of breaking it all.
Hebrews 8:1-2 (ESV)
[SUP]
1 [/SUP] Now the point in what we are saying is this:
we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
[SUP]
2 [/SUP] a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man.
Now most Christians MISS the significance of the statement that I underlined in verse 1. In the Earthly Temple, the HIGH PRIEST NEVER SAT DOWN, BECAUSE HIS WORK WAS NEVER FINISHED.
BUT OUR HIGH PRIEST IN HEAVEN SAT DOWN, BECAUSE HIS WORK IS FINISHED.
Notice in the Earthly TEMPLE there are no places to sit, except the MERCY SEAT in the Holy of Holies, reserved for GOD.
