If a person takes pride in their military background then leave them be, whatever they did in that uniform was for their country. Because the Children of GOD are not to wage war but love their enemies... knowing Vengeance is not theirs.

We are to Love GOD with all our being and each other.. we wrestle not against flesh and blood.. we have our part in the Spiritual war through Faith in Christ as children of the Father of lights.

I do not know what makes people think they have a GOD given right to kill an enemy when we are taught to love them.. I know what example I will follow.

This is such a strong statement.

It is like being part of the mafia, and finally waking up and walking away.

Yes they are loyal to their own, but cross them and you are dead.

If a believer has come out of a group where their ethic is not not confront sin as poison
that destroys all it touches, the meaning is they are advocating sinning is not a problem.

Another way of expressing this is advocating sinning.

The problem with sin, is you are either against it, or you are a slave to it.
There is no middle ground, which is what Paul is saying.

We cannot be slaves to two masters.
keep in mind people these statements are being made from a perspective of not recognizing the Biblical definition of sin- missing the mark, falling short of a standard, knowing to do good and not doing so. when they toss out these clear definitions, and make their own, then they can make themselves be sinless.

as to how peter defines sin this week, I do not know. it changes. don't take my word for it, go back through his posts, see for yourselves.

As well I don't see the holy spirit here. No one has the characteristics of Jesus or even tries. Where's the fruit, guys? Its just venom. I hope I make you uncomfortable. What Jesus commanded and said would happen to those who don't follow those commands IS frightening. Am I lying? READ WHAT JESUS SAID.

There are some

John/Yahanan 10:27-30, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; neither will any man snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no man is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand: I and My Father are in accord."

John/Yahanan 8:31, "...If you continue in My doctrine, then you are truly My disciples."
John/Yahanan 14:23, "Yahshua answered, and said to him: If a man loves Me, he will keep My teachings and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him."
John/Yahanan 5:46-47, "For had you believed Mosheh, you would have believed Me, for he wrote about Me*. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?"

*Mosheh wrote:

Deuteronomy 18:18-19, "I (YHWH) will raise up for them a Prophet (Yahshua/Jesus) like you from among their brothers, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He will tell them everything I command Him. Whoever will not listen to My words, which He speaks in My Name, I will judge him for it"

"listen" is word #8085 - שָׁמַעshama` {shaw-mah'}

Brown-Driver-Briggs (Old Testament Hebrew-English Lexicon)
A primitive root; to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively to tell, etc.)

Matthew 28

Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
His teachings require action...

On defining sin, what is odd is how a believer thinks sin is so hard to define.

God make it clear and gave us commands to that we might get the idea of what
is sinful and what is not.

Now clearly some people believe just being alive is sinful, which is why they hold
we can never be truly cleansed, pure and holy.

But this contradicts scripture.

If you do not know how to define sin I suggest you do a bible study on this subject.

Eph. 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

And when we find this true enemy, we kill it. No mercy. And God has given us the armor and weapons to do just that.

2 Cor. 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

I don't agree with DC on Spiritual matters, but I know God uses him and people like him to create an environment where I can have these discussions in peace and safety. At least in this country. And as long as that is the case, I am very grateful.

I may not agree with DC on much either.. but was he born to kill in the name of peace and safety of a nation? Paul before conversion and what he believed prior comes to mind.. afterwards He was persecuted.. tell me at what point did believers go from being killed for the Faith to killing for country?

You have a Christian in One country believe he fights for GOD and country and a Christian in another Country of the same belief.. they come against each other because their nations are at war.. which one is a Christian and should prevail?

I speak these things because the day is coming when many will put country first and do things for people that deceive them.. yes.. the day is here but in the last many will live by rather than die by the sword having been deceived that they had a GOD given right to..

May it not be so for any here.. May it not be so.

Be Faithful unto death my friends.. let not the blood be on your hands for the evil rebellion play on your prideful flag covered hearts.

Revelation 13

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10
He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

John/Yahanan 14:23, "Yahshua answered, and said to him: If a man loves Me, he will keep My teachings and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him."
And this is what happened at Pentecost. The problem with your interpretation is that you think His teachings are the law.

It is passing away...old and dusty. The new is in place and is the whole of Jesus given to us that we might walk as He walked.

What bible are you reading?

I new thought
Do you think the sanctuary (revealed in old testament) was symbolic or a typology of salvation and is there a sanctuary in Heaven?
The sanctuary in heaven is reality TMS. It is eternal. Here is temporary. And it is there. The blood of Jesus actually is on the mercy seat before Father and it speaks mercy to the world all the time.

Luk_5:36 Then he told them a parable: "No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and sews it on an old garment. If he does, the new cloth will tear, and the piece from the new will not match the old.

Luk_5:37 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will make the skins burst, the wine will be spilled, and the skins will be ruined.

Luk_5:39 No one who has been drinking old wine wants new wine, because he says, 'The old wine is good enough!'"

Speaking of Holy Spirit to come.

Here's another gem from the scripture that most people never heard.

The piece of cloth that covered Jesus's face was not a napkin that is at the table. It was a cloth used to catch sweat from a man at work. Found separated from the linen cloth that covered His body.

Now tell me this doesn't speak of rest from labors that Jesus brought to mankind? The Spirit is our refreshing, and we have sat down in the heavenly realm with Jesus above all that is earthly. That we might partake of all that is heavenly.

Come up a little higher.
