Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is rejecting the Spirit's call for you to accept Jesus as your savior.
I agree. That is the only sin that the Holy Spirit will convict others of.

John 16:[SUP]7 [/SUP]Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:[SUP]9 [/SUP]Of sin, because they believe not on me;[SUP]10 [/SUP]Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; [SUP]11 [/SUP]Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

I thought blaspheming the Holy Spirit was saying Jesus did his miracles by the power of the devil and not of God.
you're on the right track but blaspheming the holy spirit is when you accept it then reject it,as in pretty much you don't appreciate the gift of the holy spirit and so seek to be rid of the holy spirit, which is why it is the one unforgivable sin because you in a sense are rejecting your own life,as well as God at the same time as well as Jesus's dieing for your sins and the gift of the holy spirit,it's not something as "easy" as people think it's not as simple as cursing God and then God no longer forgives you,it's much more than that,it's a matter of seeking God willingly, and accepting all that Jesus did thereby accepting the holy spirit but there after having a hatred for God so much that you are not only willing to blaspheme his name but you don't want to live anymore,it's very rare,it's not something you just do,you'd have to be furious with God and determined to go against him,it's not something as simple as lieing about Jesus.

Blaspheming the Holy Spirit is rejecting the Spirit's call for you to accept Jesus as your savior.
Are you saying this because Jesus is no longer on earth and because no one can witness a miracle of Jesus so they can no longer accuse him of using the devil to accomplish a miracle?

Mark 3:22-30
[SUP]20 [/SUP]And He *came home, and the crowd *gathered again, to such an extent that they could not even eat a meal. [SUP]21 [/SUP]When His own people heard of this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, “He has lost His senses.” [SUP]22 [/SUP]The scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.” [SUP]23 [/SUP]And He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in parables, “How can Satan cast out Satan? [SUP]24 [/SUP]If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. [SUP]25 [/SUP]If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. [SUP]26 [/SUP]If Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but he is finished! [SUP]27 [/SUP]But no one can enter the strong man’s house and plunder his property unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.

[SUP]28 [/SUP]“Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; [SUP]29 [/SUP]but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— [SUP]30 [/SUP]because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Matthew 12:22-32

[SUP]22 [/SUP]Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to Jesus, and He healed him, so that the mute man spoke and saw. [SUP]23 [/SUP]All the crowds were amazed, and were saying, “This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?” [SUP]24 [/SUP]But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.”

[SUP]25 [/SUP]And knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand. [SUP]26 [/SUP]If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand? [SUP]27 [/SUP]If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your judges. [SUP]28 [/SUP]But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. [SUP]29 [/SUP]Or how can anyone enter the strong man’s house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
[h=3]The Unpardonable Sin[/h][SUP]30 [/SUP]He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
[SUP]31 [/SUP]“Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. [SUP]32 [/SUP]Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Yes, Because you have rejected the spirits doctrine.. Another way of saying is you have dissented by the doctrine the HS has been sent to convict the world of. And replaced it with some other “truth” which is not Gods truth, concerning the gospel

Got interrupted when posting this.

What law?
Here I post this again. The law of God. Sin is transgression of the law. Without the law we don't know what sin is!!!! Read especially the bold part.

Mathew 5 NIV
Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

The Fulfillment of the Law
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth dissappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

No, because they have already accepted what the HS spoke of about thge gospel as truth. And recieved it in faith after repenting. And were born again, Given the spirit, and have actually experienced first hand the love of God.

A person saved will not change his mind again and go to a different gospel that has no power.

notice, The Pharisee actually did thge actual sin, By claiming Jesus did his work by the power of satan (attributing the work of the HS to satan) Yet jesus said they were in danger, because we all have until our death two repent, and recieve thge gospel of truth. I am sure a few where where there did just that.

anytime,if there are 3 things I know about they are baptism, salvation, and what is blaspheming the holy spirit and what isn't.
ROTFLMAO
We can have good arguments about baptism. I have been forced to be on all sides of the argument over baptism modes. I was an elder and part of the teaching about baptism was forced to take particular sides in arguing about the mode. It is amazing what you learn when taking the side you disagree with.

The Mosaic law was never applied to the gentiles. Romans 2:14 says as much.

[SUP]14 [/SUP]For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves

One thing, how could this be applied to pharisees when the Holy Spirit was not given yet?

So in a sense are you saying that you can accept the HS then reject him.
So you receive the HS then seek to rid him from you.

So to receive him is to be saved as a result of placing faith in Jesus (Jesus said the HS will convict the works of its sin, which is unbelief in him) then to rid him from your life is going from being saved to unsaved?

Did Peter lack faith in God, or in his circumstance?

I think there is a huge difference there. Also note. Jesus did not ask him to repent. He knew peters heart.
I agree that He did not ask peter to repent because He knew what was in peters heart, so He knew peter had already repented/returned. In fact, Jesus had already prophesied this when He said: when you return...

As for not having faith in your circumstance...if we believe God guides our steps (man makes his plans but it is God who guides his steps) then we would not have this problem of no faith in whatever circumstance...

John 21 shows us when Peter returned and is one of the most beautiful stories in the Bible.

There are rituals of blasphemy in the occult that force you to do this very thing. Especially if it is discovered during the initiation period you were raised in a Christian Church or are on the fence about your beliefs.

Lasagna man... good one.. ROFL..

. animal-graphics-cats-063558.gif

Not necessarily...peter denied him. It was caused by a lack of faith and fear of death. So no, I don't see denying Him and not having faith in Him as necessarily two different things. But I would like to hear everyone's thoughts, including lasagna man. :)
