"no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him"-1 John 3:6

Did you forget your own doctrine?

The person living in sin is not saved. The person living in sin DOES NOT KNOW HIM. They are not born again. Understand? This is right out of the very verse you derive once saved always saved from. You seem to have not known this.
honestly, when will all these nonsense stop?

It does not say "living" in sin, Ralph. You like to distort that. It says "no one who sins" - which includes you and me and everyone else.

Ralph, do you have any concept of what the two natures are?
You don't seem to get it. John is saying YOU HAVE NOT SEEN OR KNOWN HIM because you say he is just talking about any sinning.

Are you judging your brother, and accusing them of sin while not being able to say what this is?
I thought this was slander.

I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.
My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
1 Corinthians 4:3-5

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
Matthew 5:14-15

Set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
1 Peter 3:15-17

And you exempt yourself somehow from those verses?

How is that?

We're talking doctrine here. It's okay to do that. The mistake they are making is attacking me personally when they don't like what I say. They don't have to like what I say. What they do have to do is leave me alone and not attack me for saying what I'm saying.

You're doing it again. Stop making this personal. Stop trying to destroy me.
Ralph, knock it off. Quit projecting something that isn't there. No one is out to "destroy" you. That's a strawman, and you know it.

I explained it already. John is talking about living in sin, not struggling with it as a growing born again believer. How do we know that? Read Galatians 5:21. There Paul explains it is the person practicing and living in sin who is not born again and will not inherit the kingdom. Understand?

No, I have eyes. Everybody can see the incessant accusations about lying and judging. Some people are unable to just talk about the topic. They have to make it personal.

You are adding to what is written. That's not what it says at all. You put "living" where it doesn't belong. It says "does not, nor can, sin".

You can't explain that because of your "works" mentality. So you simply add "living in sin" to it.

It is a grievous sin to add to the word of God, Ralph.

God is great at exposing people like you, Ralph. By posting those verses, you've condemned yourself.

"Whoever abides in Him sins not" (You still sin, Ralph)

"Whoever is born of God does not sin" (Since you still sin, the scripture is clear you are not born of God, Ralph)

"For he cannot sin (And yet, you do, Ralph)

And don't spew that drivel about "living" in it. Since you sin every single day, that is the epitome of living in it.

That's why Jesus came, Ralph. Because we are incapable of stopping our sinning. That's why he became sin for us.

You run around going, "See Lord, look at me! Look at all I'm doing! Look at my wonderful works! See? I'm one of the redeemed, because I'm proving it!"

You're not proving anything to God.

And the only thing you're proving to us, is you are a hypocrite.
If I John 3 is to be interpreted this way for Ralph, then in fairness we each need to put our name in above where Ralph's name is, and I guess that means none of us are born of God?

You have accused me, and many others, of believing in grace giving a license to sin. That is a lie you keep repeating over and over. None of us has ever said that. We all agree one should strive to live a holy life.

Your problem is, you refuse to acknowledge your lying, and instead say we are "attacking" you when we call you out on it.

Exactly. We are all guilty of sinning constantly. By word, thought, or deed. Ralph likes to exempt himself from that fact, while thundering down judgment on the rest of us. I simply want to point out, he's right in the same boat with us.

I John 3 does very clearly talk about practicing sin (or living in sin if you want to call it that). And the believer does not "live in sin" in God's eyes because God forgives us when we sin (even if it is every day).

When nonsense talker decides to "make sense" and "stop deflecting and accept correction" ,but considering how much pride has to be let go this may take years.

Someday in heaven it will be a blast to sit at the next table nearby while Ralph, Budman, preacher4truth, gb9, and EG, and James and Paul sit at the table beside us. Can you imagine the fun that these guys will have in correcting Paul and James' doctrine! LOL!!!! :p

As long as I don't have to sit next to John the Baptist! I know he was in the water a lot, but something tells me he stinks. I can't stomach B.O.

"Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

It says one born of God does not commit sin - period. It says one born of God cannot sin - period.

So, that puts us in a dilemma. If we are born of God we cannot sin - yet we can. If we are born of God we will not commit sin - yet we do.

John is talking about the two natures. Our sinless spiritual nature, which is Christ's nature, given to us at the moment of conversion, the one that does not, nor cannot, sin - and the sinful nature of the flesh, which causes us to sin, and are at war with constantly.

That gave me a good laugh - I am not sure I want to sit by you either - something tells me you are a Philadelphia Eagles' fan and I can't stand that kind!
