Well, according to 1 John 3:4 "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."
John 3:16-21 * Vs. 18 "He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Matt. 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. Vs. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Vs. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Jesus is referring to the 10 Commandments from Exodus 20:1-17. In the Old Testament, there were commandments, ordinances and statutes. Jesus nailed the ordinances, and rituals pertaining to animal sacrifices for sin to the cross, as He
became our Passover (1 Cor. 5:7-8). But the 10 commandments we are still obligated to obey, but if we goof up, and we turn to Christ in repentance, and confess our sins, we have forgiveness through His blood which He shed on the cross.
How can anybody say that Jesus abolished the 10 commandments, when He was crucified on the cross. And there are people that teach that! Well, then are they saying it's ok to steal, or ok to commit adultery, or murder? Not!! The 10 Commandments keep you out of trouble, and are necessary for an orderly and peaceful society.
