you said:
"Hagar being the slave to the Law" ??
i don't think anyone ever said that either. possibly not in the history of the website.
so i assumed that you mishandled your phrasing of Galatians 4, and were disagreeing with Hagar, the 'slave' being representative of the Law.
if that's not what you meant, well i don't know what you're talking about. i've never heard anyone say that either. maybe you misunderstood someone.
Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.
These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
(Galatians 4: 21-26)
which covenant is Mt Sinai?
He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform,
that is, the Ten Commandments;
and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.
(Deuteronomy 4:13)
the Word says this is figuratively Hagar.
if anyone doesn't like that, their beef isn't with me. it's with the Author.
yes, it's incredibly amazing, and who would believe it, even if they read it? but the Bible is full of incredible things
how many times have you quoted the scriptures that say, 'one law for the the foreigner as well as the natural born' ?
So can you answer who the Law was given to Israel or Ismael?
and yes "one Law for the native and for the traveller wo dwells with you"
Except that does not mean just anyone, it is those who have entered the Covenant:
Exodus 12:47-49, “All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. And
when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the Passover to יהוה, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and
he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
One law shall be to him that is nativeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourns among you.”
Finally bondage is to sin, not to the Law. The Law is called freedom by James, who is the lead apostle and his name is written on the foundation of the Kingdom...
Psalm 119:44-45, "That I might guard Your Law continually, Forever and ever;
That I might walk in liberty, For I have sought Your orders;"
James 1:22-25, “And become
doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror, for he looks at himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like. But he that looked into the
perfect Law of liberty, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing.”
James 2:8-12, “If you truly
accomplish the sovereign Law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself, (
Lev 19:18) you do well, but if you show partiality, you commit sin, being found guilty by the Law as transgressors. For whoever shall guard all the Law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, “
Do not commit adultery,” (
Exo 20:14) also said, “
Do not murder.” (
Exo 20:13) Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of Law. So speak and so do as those who are to be judged by the
Law of liberty.”
Living a life that is trapped in sin is bondage...
John 8:34-36, “יהושע answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you,
everyone doing sin is a servant of sin. And the servant does not stay in the house forever – a son stays forever. If, then, the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
This is not bondage:
Mat 22:37-40, "Yahshua said to him: You must love YHWH your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. (
Deut 6:5) This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (
Lev 19:18) On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
Maybe, just maybe you fail to consider, and I think we can not fully grasp how mush of a difference between living under the Leviticalpriesthood was compared to livingunder the High Priesthood of Yahshua.
John 8:34-36, “יהושע answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you,
everyone doing sin is a servant of sin. And the servant does not stay in the house forever – a son stays forever. If, then, the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
The anti-Messiah called "the man of lawlessness" certianly sets men from from the Creator;s Instructions, Yahshua sets people free from sin, that is transgression against said Instructions...
John/Yahanan 10:16, "And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice. So there will be one flock,
one Shepherd (4166 – poimén)."
