I think you can find on google that donald trumps grandpa was a pimp that believed in eugenics and his paw was arrested in times square for being part of an illegal KKK rally.

Just a cursory reading of the "Creed" reveals at least 2 Catholic errors.....no wonder he misses the mark so much...thank God the bible is my rule of faith and practice and not some ignorant Creed written by men.
First you failed to Biblically refute anything and the Apostles Creed predates the Catholic Church. Go back and biblically refute it or shut up about it. Over time I have requested your refutation but as always you just blow smoke Bible only man. Get your Bible out and start refuting. Too bad you won't use a systematic theology book. They list topics and then give every verse related to that topic. But then you reject Bible aids.

The history of the times when it was created by elders goes right over your head. Bibles were very expensive and rare. So tell me what you would do if Bibles today were $50,000 a copy and no printing press what would you use then. That was the situation when the Apostles Creed, the 2 Nicine Creeds and the Athenasian Creed were created. How would you remember the essentials of the faith?

If you can read the creed and not see the errors it will do no good...you will deny and reject the truth anyway...so why waste my time instructing one who will trample it under in favor of religion....!!!!

As I said. Refute it not ridicule it. Oh that's right you are Bible only so how do you find all of the verses on a topic. I go to my systematic theology book, look up the topic and have every verse related to that topic. Oops!! You have a problem. How many times are you going to go down this path. Your ignorance of early church times is astounding. You never ever refute any of the statements. You just ridicule and run. It becomes very obvious that you lack the ability to refute any statement. Therefore use the method of those losing the debate. Just like the Democrats opposing the SCOTUS nominee. Ridicule, rant and rave. Courteous reasonable discourse is beyond your ability apparently. Prove me wrong please. Discuss not ridicule!!

As I thought you have no refutation. That is an old worn out attempt to derail the discussion. It is a fallacious argument of appealing to common knowledge. Try again with facts. Are you Calvinist or Armenian. That might help me understand your theology. Do you know the difference in the Quinquarticular Controversy? Or do you understand that question. Do you know the difference between Calvinism and Armenianism?? They have opposing 5 points in their theology. Here they are. Tell me which one is Biblical?

Five Points of Calvinism and Armenianism
Arminianism vs Calvinism Controversial Passages
https://www.xenos.org/essays/calvinism-arminianism-controversial-passages

The five points of Arminianism (from Jacobus Arminius 1559-1609) are in contrast to the five points of Calvinism (from from John (Jehan) Calvin 1509-1564). The Arminian five points with the Calvinist points listed beneath it are listed below. Bet you can't tell!!!

1.
Human Free Will--This states that though man is fallen, he is not incapacitated by the sinful nature and can freely choose God. His will is not restricted and enslaved by his sinful nature.
Total Depravity - - this states a man is incapable to choose God.

2.
Conditional Election--God chose people for salvation based on His foreknowledge where God looks into the future to see who would respond to the gospel message.
Unconditional Election - - God reached in and chose forcing the person to respond to the gospel message.

3.
Universal Atonement--The position that Jesus bore the sin of everyone who ever lived.
Limited Atonement - - Jesus only bore the sin for only those who choose him.

4.
Resistable Grace--The teaching that the grace of God can be resisted and finally beaten so as to reject salvation in Christ.
Irresistible Grace - - The teaching that when God reaches in and touches the person his grace is irresistible.

5.
Fall from Grace--The Teaching that a person can fall from grace and lose his salvation.
Perseverance of the Saints - - Once saved always saved OSAS.

Armenian
1. Free will
2. ConditionalElection
3. Universal Atonement
4. Resistable Grace
5. Fall from Grace

Basically, Calvinism is known by an acronym: T.U.L.I.P.

1. Total Depravity (also known as Total Inability and Original Sin)
2. Unconditional Election
3. Limited Atonement (also known as Particular Atonement)
4. Irresistible Grace
5. Perseverance of the Saints (also known as Once Saved Always Saved)

Pot calling the kettle black. That description fits you to a T. Never ever have you Biblically proven the Apostles Creed wrong but rant and rave about it without showing cause. You ignore the historical setting for the need for it. You act like everybody in the time it was written had a Bible like today. I have several times over the past times have asked you for refutation and never ever have you given it. When are you going to provide it. Keep in mind every church has a doctrinal statement. The Apostles Creed is a statement of doctrine. Ask your pastor about the one for your church. That is if you go to church to hear a mere man preach the gospel.

Hi Decon, I may be repeating myself but the fact remains that Jesus taught us, "do not swear an oath at all"
Let your "yes be yes" and your "no be no"

Sermon on the Mount: Oaths
Matthew5:33-37
33)
“Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ 34) But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35) or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36) And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37) All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

The answer dcon about which one is Biblical is both. They both provide a lengthy explanation about each point with several verses backing it up. How can this be? It goes to the reason the Apostles Creed was created.. There were many issues that had lots of differing opinions. The creed was developed as the basic set of beliefs a Christian MUST HAVE. Everything else was to agree to disagree. Those disagreements come down today as all of the different gospel preaching denominations. The Creed still stands and obviously you are unable to refute any statement in it.

You must not be able to read both I and Calibob have proven two points of the creed to be wrong and not worth setting next to the toilet....and for the 100th time...the bible sets the standard, not your Catholic creed that you espouse and peddle like a $1.00 sale at Dollar General.....!

False again....a document written by men with errors and a Catholic twist does not set the standard for who is and is not Christian no matter how many times you spew it....!

Thank you so much. I hold no store in man made form prayers, esp. by people who believed in purgatory.

The creeds are statements of doctrine created when Bibles were hand copied. The Apostles, 2 Nicine and the Athenasian Creeds were created as a method of having an easily memorized statement of doctrine about what a person must believe to be saved. You couldn't bring a Bible to someone and read the scripture. First Bibles were exceedingly rare and expensive and too many were illiterate. Memorization of different things was prevelant in an illiterate society. Couldn't write it down. The memorized creeds were the means to bring the gospel to someone. They explained the essentials of the faith.

New International Version 1984 Romans 2:1-11 God’s Righteous Judgment You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance? But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will give to each person according to what he has done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism.
