As Ariel stated, repentance is a work that comes from GOD. It is Him and Him alone that changes our minds and hearts, to WANT to repent of our sins and live a better, more Christian life..

They dont want to answer me that repentance is a works that obtains salvation coz they know that this proves works does obtain salvation..

Yes it is but it must come from the believer..
Can only come when God creates circumstances that softens the hearts, removes the rocks and thorns and chase away the birds that want to steal and kill the Seed,

Folks are only saved when they get sealed by the Holy Spirit as children as God.

Repentance is a work of God not of man.
Gods work is in conviction of sin, repentance is our response.
How could our response be Gods gift, or His work?

God talks about hardening the hearts of people, but does He soften our hearts
or is that our response to His love?

I suspect love dictates it has to be, we who soften and acknowledge our need.
Some never do. It is why Hell exists.

Some might say others are cowards for walking away, when that is exactly what Jesus told His disciples to do when they were not well received. God knows the heart. We are to be meek before Him but bold before others as we proclaim the Truth of His Word. How can two walk together if they are not in agreement? Seems pretty simple to me :) Now, finding agreement, that may not be so simple :D

repentance has to come from the person befor Jesus can enter in

Matthew 3:2
1In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea 2and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” 3This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for Him.’”…

Means you must repent to recieve Jesus..

Same as the old testiment they had to do this works repentance without the holy spirit indwelled

God works on the outside before we confess and receive the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Emotions are not evil. They show the state of the heart.

Fear was given to us to warn of danger. People assume it's physical, but sometimes it's spiritual attack on BOTH people that causes folks to argue. Do we trust in ourselves or God when we are afraid?

Anger also can be a motivator. Especially to fight against injustice. However, God says give it to Him before the sun sets out of love for us. Do not give place to Satan. Each day we stand for justice and truth. each night we trust God to deal with it. We forgive even if they don't deserve it. Not for their benefit but our own peace. Do we forgive and let go of anger every night, or do we horde it and allow anger to poison our lives?
All things of ourselves are to be dead, and lived out accordingly. Only the Spirit is to rule our spirit, and we are never to live in the flesh. Thus, emotions, when given by God are to be cherished in relationship toGod's will and purposes, yet even then, not to be loved more than Jesus Himself, but only is support of Him and His will, intentions, and purposes.

You are defending your right to emotions. I am trying to state a fact about how we live our lives thru the spirit, and not to let our emotions or anything from our soulish perspective to be present in our ruling capacity. We have no rights, we have Christ who gives us life. For He is not just life, but He is also the way, the truth, and the life.

This is why the joy of the Lord is our strength and not our gifts. God will give us His joy when we obey Him, yet there are even times He will hold back His joy, to strengthen our resolve in loving Him over His blessings; building our Character. We are, therefore to love the Person of Christ, not just His care-packages.

If emotion is rationalized to be a "God-sent-compass" this is not the Bibles teachings. The Bible teaches us to be restrained within the spirits keeping, otherwise our spiritual experience will have more ebb than flow.Jesus is a river with one direction being headed, and the ocean's returning waters is not His will for our lives. This is why steadfastness, and diligence are marks of a Christians life. To be "slow to speak ...." to "guard our tongues" etc. etc., to let all things that come out of us be in the hands of Our Lord for His will and not our own - is what the Bible teaches.

God's Word does not steal the things He has given us in emotions, nor am I. His Word is clear -He rules them. And God is a God of order and not chaos. "Be anxious about nothing...." Righteous anger, for instance, was never dished out for us to control, it is an intuitive reaction of our spirit to what God controls and is. it is always done in support of love willfully, This is what we are to spiritually hate is sin and its disguises. Our spirit has emotions too, but they of God and never of our flesh or soul.

Off to Church! God bless you all!

There will never be an agreement where doctrinal differences occur.

One day we will all find out who is right and who is wrong.
One day we will answer for every word we have said.

If we always remembered this, maybe just maybe conversation might be different.

God softens/breaks our hearts by clearly showing us our sins.
Some are happy in their sin, and do not see anything wrong. Or else why are our churches empty
and porn and sexual abuse so prevalent? Few admit this is even an issue, you are what you are...

But repentance comes from God. Read post #7626 by Ariel. God changes our hearts by showing us our sins, then telling us what we can do about them..

Where precisely in the bible does it state that we will answer for every word we've ever said? Or be shown our sins? The dead know nothing, and those in heaven will not remember what they did here on earth..

Repentance is from God - He grants it - It is not something that we produce.

All these scriptures show this truth. Acts 5:31 ; Acts 11:18 ; 2 Tim. 2:25

Acts 11:18 (KJV)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

2 Timothy 2:24-25 (NASB)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,

[SUP]25 [/SUP] with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,

It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance. Rom. 2:4

Repentance is not a work that we do by our own will-power or human effort. It's a product of the grace and love of God being manifested to us when we hear of Christ and all that He has done.
