Absolutely. (Acts 10:43; 13:39; 16:31; Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 1:21; Ephesians 1:13) (y)

Absolutely. (Acts 15:8-9; Romans 3:24; 5:1; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Hebrews 10:14) (y)

This is still yet future. In Romans 8:30, we read - Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. *ALL of them. *Notice how Paul uses the past tense for a future event to stress it's certainty. :D
Amen.....the simplicity of the truth.....I do not understand how people can be so amaurotic to the truth!

Here is why those who are so adamant against us, and where I think their CONFUSION lies:

1 Corinthians 2:14 (NIV)
14 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
When did God go on vacation and put you in charge?

So then we agree.
No works....no faith.
No faith......no salvation.
As long as you understand that faith is the root of salvation and works are the fruit. No fruit at all demonstrates there is no root. Works are the fruit, by product and demonstrative evidence of authentic faith in Christ, but not the essence of faith and not the means of our salvation. If you agree with the above, then we agree.

I think another way to look at it is: We have been given this gift that is so wonderful and marvelous we will be stirred to share it with others. This life can be such a bummer, it is good to have something sure to help us look beyond today. Knowing this gift is available to everyone, we can't help but to share about it. That is what I think God uses for works.

And she fully believes salvation can be lost or forfeit...so....in reality you do not believe the same thing....she believes in a salvation that is maintained and kept by US and what we do.....that is not the salvation the bible lays bare....!

Amazing.....Jesus needs our help to maintain that which has been given eternally already.......It must be a shame to serve such a weak, inept god.....one that can save us at our worst, but needs our assistance to keep us saved.......

I am sorry Jesus...your imputed righteousness is not enough

I am sorry Jesus...your power is too weak

I am sorry Jesus....your promises are worthless

I am sorry Jesus....you cannot keep me by your power

I am sorry Jesus...the faith you begin, finish and complete lacks the ability to really be completed

I am sorry Jesus...I can yank myself from your hand and your weak inept Father's Hand

I am sorry Jesus....the Holy Spirit's seal can be broken by man which makes you weak and inept

I am sorry Jesus....faith is not enough...you should change the bible to read..The just shall live by faith and works...you got it wrong the first time

I am sorry Jesus...when you see the blood it is not thick enough or red enough...I must add my abilities and my service and works to make it effectual

I am sorry Jesus...you do not deserve the glory....I DO because I HELPED YOU get me across the finish line

ALL who embellish faith to acquire, keep or maintain salvation say the above clearly.....!!!!!
If you only knew how utterly foolish you sound.

Matt. 23:
37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

So according to you this Jesus just wasn't powerful enough to make these guys righteous. So you create your own that can.

Matt. 10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

So according to you this Jesus just doesn't love you enough to carry your cross for you, and follow Himself for you, so you create your own that does.

Hebrews 12:
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

So according to you, this Jesus doesn't love you enough to carry you over the finish line, he expects you to run. Can't have that can you Decon. So you create a Jesus that takes the race away from you, you aren't even in a race. Your jesus runs the race for you.

I get so tired of listening to white washed walls demonize the Christ of the Bible and His teaching just so they can justify their own religious franchise.

Does a good father teach his son to pick up his own toys when he is through with them? Why??? Because the father isn't powerful enough to pick them up himself? So then, does the child create a father who will pick up his toys for him??? Yet, that is what you preach.

Just keep preaching Decon. You do a better job than me of exposing where you religion comes from.

Sorry mate but actually you are not much different

Reciprocated.

But of course it would be on both of the above.

You have your thoughts on what constitutes salvation and works as those who disagree with you do.

One day we will all find out.
This is true Billy. We will all find out someday. But in the meantime;

Romans 12:
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world (would this also mean religions of the world?) but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I think it would be wise to "prove what is acceptable to God" before He comes back, or before we die. Given that it was too late for those in Matt. 7 who found out that believing in the Christ means more that just lip service or doing stuff in His Name. There is a Law to consider. God's Law, man's Law, it's one or the other. But the Christ certainly holds a tough line against those who practice disobedience to it.

Good night Billy :)

what picture does Matthew 17:22-27 give us about what kind of salvation He has given to man ?
what Jesus is portrayed in ch. 17-18 ?

you cannot get to Romans 8:1 without coming through chapters 6-7 and 8:1 is inextricable from 7:14-25 which immediately precedes it. there is no break in rhetoric; 8:1 is the inescapable conclusion of 1:1-7:25
Chapter six and seven's context continues into eight as you say. However Paul proclaims in verse two of chapter eight His deliverance from the Law of sin and death which he claimed to be in service to through his flesh in verse 7:23, 25.

For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
(Rom 7:22-25)

Chapter seven's use of the word mind is dealing with head knowledge; knowing the law and desiring to serve it because you know it is good and makes sense to you to do so. This did not work for Paul nor will it work for us. The only way is Jesus Christ.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
(Rom 8:1-4)

Paul claims he had been Made me free from the law of sin and death. No longer in captivity to the Law of sin which which is in His members. HE HAS BEEN MADE FREE! That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. (Rom 8:2-4; 6:6,7)

Set free from the Law of sin and death. Our old man crucified with with HIM that the Body of Sin be destroyed. That Hence forth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin through Jesus Christ. Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
(1Pe 2:24 KJV)
