John Calvin said it better than I.

Ephesians 2:10. For we are his work. By setting aside the contrary supposition, he proves his statement, that by grace we are saved, -- that we have no remaining works by which we can merit salvation; for all the good works which we possess are the fruit of regeneration. Hence it follows, that works themselves are a part of grace.

Calvin's commentary

More to come
So that is where these ideas coming from o_O, on second thought I am not surprised

Works are not part of grace, they are because of grace!!

Perservance of the saints is not in the scripture.

Saints to not always persevere.

Hi forum, I got a red X by a poster named "PROTESTANTHERETICS", for this post that I wrote above, but he did not leave any commentary just a red X, I wish he would tell everyone why he disagrees with my post. Otherwise maybe he is just a troll making problems.
I was wondering about that too!!:cautious:

Here, i will correct ypur quote?
Ive notice this argument alot on here. When you find a scripture that totally proves your false doctrine wrong you just say oh that verse isn't for us!!

Let me ask you, how big is your bible?
After ripping out all the books not written to you and for you, your bible must be very small......maybe one or two verses even

Since the book of Romans was written to the church at rome, do we throw out the entire book?

Or maybe we should balance scripture with scripture and let the Word speak for itself and remember what Paul told Timothy
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:16 KJV
Lol, so you take romans 11 out of context and i am supposed to listen to you?

Again, if romans 11 is about people losing salvation (its not) paul contradicted himself. In romans 8 he said there is no more condemnation for this in christ, people who by nature walk in him, now you want him to say he was wrong just 3 chapters later,

You cause confusion my friend, not truth, your self righteousness will not save you, you can boast all you want, jesus will say he never knew you.

Nope, Saints are preserved, they do not always perserver

But you can pull up scripture if you want, and I will show you why "perseverance" is wrong and a very problematic teaching for the church and continues to cause problems.

Saints can’t persevere, where they stand apart from crhist they would be condemned, so yes, amen, they are preserved in christ.

I should have known i would get a derogetory remark, you all are full of them,

Back at you, Have you studied your hebrew and greek lately?

1. The word repent is no where to be found
2. Again, he confessed/acknowledged his sin, (look at what you posted you will see i am right) or continue in trying to prove me wrong and fail,

H did as john told us to do when we sin, and as peter told us to do, confess our sins, not only to god, but each other. he did not repent
Repent means to change your mind or view, david did not change his mind, he confessed that he commited a sin.
Really??? Your entire argument is the difference between repenting and confessing???
re·pent
/rəˈpent/
verb
  1. feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one's wrongdoing or sin.
"the priest urged his listeners to repent"
synonyms:feel remorse for, regret, be sorry for, rue, reproach oneself for, be ashamed of, feel contrite about, wish that one had not done something; More

    • view or think of (an action or omission) with deep regret or remorse.
"Marian came to repent her hasty judgment"
    • ARCHAIC
      feel regret or penitence about.
"I repent me of all I did

    • Sounds to me when I read Psalm 51 like David repented

Now balance scripture with scripture read John chapter 15 and see what happens to all those who do not abide in Christ! If I'm not mistaken it goes something like I will be cut off and thrown in the fire

Sorry, i do not get my interpretations of the word from english dictionaries

Repent means to change ones mind, thats all

Confess is to acknowledge what you have done, HUGE differense.
We repent before we come to faith, where we admit, we have tebelled against god, we have sinned many sins, and we are deserving of condemnation, this brings us to faith in christ

After we have tepented and come to god, we CONFES (admit acknowledge something by naming that sin) as john told us to do.

My argument is against a false interpretation of a word, and demanding if people do not repent of something they already acknowledged was sin to begin with they will lose salvation.

We confess our sins, not repent, learn the difference, you may actually understand scripture better

Lol sorry dude, me saying i can maintain my salvation by being good, or doing good works is no different than they jews saying they were saved by obedience to the law, (where even under law, a sacrifice was always requiree because no one ever kept the law)

Jesus said it is finished (literally paid in full) not i did my work, now you do yours,

Jesus said in john 15, we are already clean by the word, his context was bearing fruit, not being saved.

Stop looking for salvation in everything you read and try to get context, you agai. Will learn much

Since repentance is simply changing your mind do you think David changed his mind while Nathan pointed his finger and said thou art the man?

Yes he changed his mind or as I was saying he repented

No, i think David knew he sinned, why else do you think he tried to hide his sin so much

What nathan did was get him to admit openly, show him he could not hide his sin.

Yes he changed his mind or as I was saying he repented
You can think it all you want, your wrong.

Actually, I have only, thus far found one person who studies the greek who understood the true message. In my view, the Holy Spirit does not rely on you reading the Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic translations in order to fully understand the message, neither does he rely on you reading concordances such as strongs. He is quite capable of teaching you what you need to know without all of that. You get much further if you kneel and ask God to reveal truth to you as you read the bible, rely on him, nothing more. Then a reputable English translation will do, nothing more needed
