Sorry,,,this thread moves to fast.
OK. Thanks.
2 Timothy 2:12-13
12If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
13If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
verse 12 says that if we endure, we will reign with Him.
Now the N.T. is full of verses about enduring till the end...Jesus Himself states this:
Mathew 24:13. Please note verse 10 just before that...Jesus says that many will fall away.
Fall away from what? THE FAITH. Jesus knows that some will fall away and He knows that some will not endure till the end...this is repeated by Paul many times and makes it clear that it can refer to the end times and can also refer to our saved state, since it's our faith that is being discussed.
verse 12 also states that if we deny Him,,,He also will deny us.
Paul is repeating something that Jesus said:
Mathew 10:33
33“But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
Basically, if we deny Jesus...we are rejecting our salvation,,,we are denying our salvation because He is the path to the Father and to salvation.
verse 13 states that if we are faithless, He remains faithful because He cannot deny HIMSELF.
Looks like we have a contradiction here.
First we're told if we deny Him, He will deny US.
Then we're told that even if we lose our faith,,,He will remain faithful...
So what does this mean?
It means that God will always remain faithful to HIMSELF....
He made a pact with man and it was to give him a way to save himself.
God will alway remain faithful to that pact.
He will always remain faithful to his mercy.
He will always remain faithful to His justice and His love, etc.
God has a nature and He will forever remain faithful to that nature.
Which is bad news for those with no faith...
Because they will be lost since those with sin will not enter into heaven.
Revelation 21:27
The only way God will remain faithful to HIMSELF with those that have no faith, is to refuse them entrance into heaven.
You could check this out on your own.
The bible does NOT contradict itself.
Whenever you think there's a contradiction...the verses need to be studied.
