So PeterJens, you are saying folks on here are like your adulterous preacher?

all of us deserve hell

but God was so merciful he sent Jesus to pay a price so high
it can cover any sin ever made by all men and women

when we have faith in him
its not dead faith

God sends a call to all and reveals to us that Jesus is the way
and those who accept this are given a new heart
after this
the things we once took pleasure in
now hurt us to do
and we feel conviction to turn from them

if we grow in the word and continue to follow Jesus and seek Gods will for us
this is practicing righteousness

we start to turn from sin

like swearing
vengence
masterbation
fornication
false idols

and it becomes not a burden
but a joy when we overcome sin through christ who strengthens us

i believe it is possible to walk holy as Job did

but this isnt what earns salvation
it shows our fruit

i think God preserved his Word
and the bible is meant to be taken literally

(unless its obvious hyperbole)
bump

i think we can clear this up if we see whos on the same page and not letting semantics cause divison

Ariel you are assuming again.
You are dealing with people of a different faith, different foundations and outlooks.
They have changed the words and the morality.

I was told if a preacher was an adulterer, sorted his life out, he should be given
a second chance. Sin, repentance, a moral stand was irrelevant, it is just letting
people do what they do and do not judge or even get involved, they are Gods
anointed, above your pay grade to even question....

Because the label says christian, it can still be from the pit of hell.
yes things like this can be from the pit of hell. like the lie that people do not sin as believers. that is a big fat lie.

so maybe, you should send that belief back where it came from, it has no business in the Body of Christ, because sinless perfectionism is a LIE. and so is anyone who will not admit to sinning.

if you study the word for 10 hours

and watch sports for 1 hour

did you put sports above God?

yes for 1 hour

i mean to me i was called to give up mma

maybe because its violent

ill back off on this
its not the main focus of my question

and your arent wrong in your definition
Some things are wrong for one, but not for another. I watch MMA. Not frequently, but i enjoy it sometimes.
But i think you misunderstand what it means to put something above God. Yours is a misconception that if someones life isn't 24/7 God then anything they do otherwise is putting it above God, and that's not how it works. That is also very works based. And by your very own logic the fact that you are on CC at this moments means you are putting CC above God. Jesus laughed, cried, slept, walked, had dinner with friends, argued with pharisees, was a carpenter.
To put something above God means to consistently set God aside because you prefer X activity. Spending 10 hours in the bible instead of the other way around is putting God above sports. Taking 1 hour out of 11 to watch sports is in no way putting God above sports.

Lastly it may not have been the focus of your question, but that does not mean God is not trying to speak. We have to be able to hear God in whatever direction He speaks, even if it's not our focus.

There you go PeterJens....

Do you or do you NOT teach sinless perfection?

Apparently no body actually listens to what others say around here.

Psalms 11:5

“The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.”

I think that Peterjens is trying to speak about how our life should look like if Christ is being manifested in us which - he is correct in that IMO.

But - Where the dis-connect is - how is this done and if this is not done then does this mean we are kicked out of Christ?

That ...to me seems to be the issue other then the obvious mis-representation what is actually being said in real life.

Paul, who was taught by direct revelation and inspired to pen the letters he penned was clear....

a. If salvation is by grace, which it is, it cannot be by works
b. If by works, which it is not, it is no longer grace

It is not both.....It is one or the other....

To blend faith and works to get, keep or maintain salvation is a gospel of another kind, which is not the same kind Paul preached.

Faith plus works for salvation is false, double cursed, has no power to save and Paul uses two words to accurately describe those who peddle it....the words being FOOLISH AND BEWITCHED<--Galatians 1 and 3

I will take grace and faith over being foolish and or bewitched....how about you?

And lets emphasise this concept with this fabulous summary statement by Paul from Eph 2:8-9

"8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Port Douglas is a pretty place but don't forget to go up to the Daintree and out to the Reef.
Also make sure you explore the Atherton Tablelands as well.
The Road between Cairns and Port Douglas is a spectacular drive in and of itself - make sure you do it.
