interesting problem?

Someone does not know the bible, Jesus appears to them in a vision, they come to
faith and repent of their sins and want to follow Him, like the thief on the cross,
are they saved depending on their later profession of beliefs or is the spiritual
reality of knowing Jesus where it really is?

I trust Jesus because we are His people and He knows His own. Amen

I would say non of the above

They are saved because god called out to them, And drew them to himself. And showed them their situation. And they chose to say Yes Lord, i reacive you into my heart BASED on everything you have said.

Its called faith.

The problem in the world is evil desires in the heart. Sin is its fruit. Unless evil desires are kept in check we
are lost. I was emphasising evil desires need resolution which many refuse to accept, and stop opening their
hearts up to the Lord to be healed and so stay captive to their sinful behaviour.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
Romans 6:12

As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
1 Peter 4:2

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
2 Peter 1:4

These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.
Jude 1:16

But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.'
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.
These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.'"
Matt 15:18-20

each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
James 1:13-15

[quoting from Charles Stanley (1821-1890) on Hebrews 10]

"Now what was the will of God? Is it not revealed in what follows, that we should be sanctified, separated unto God, by the offering of the body of Christ? “By the which will we are sanctified, through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once.” Note, it was not the will of God to set up another system of many offerings, or masses, but one offering, offered once. It is then a great foundation truth, a fact, that through the one offering of Christ, once offered, we ARE sanctified. Do you believe God as to this? or do you say, No, that one offering is not enough to separate me forever to God? Beware of unbelief as to this.
[...]

"Here in Hebrews, it is the question of the conscience: and by the one offering of Christ the believer has no more conscience of sins. The Holy Spirit is a witness that God has nothing now against the believer, as He says, “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” Oh, the holy boldness, or liberty we have to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus. Now the one question is, Do we believe God? You must admit that it is altogether of God. Do not send out the spies of unbelieving reason, to see if it is so. Do not look within to see if it is so. The Holy Spirit bears witness that He who died on the cross, as the sacrifice for your sins, has perfected us forever -in unchanging continuance. Christendom does not believe the Holy Spirit. All her printed prayers show that men do not believe this wondrous grace of God. Ever using vain repetitions for God to be merciful, when He declares in the plainest words of all believers, “Their sins and iniquities will I remember no more!” If you believe God, you must have done with masses and vain repetitions. It is a serious thing to say, We are Jews, when we are not; to set up an earthly priesthood again, and to repeat prayers only suited for a Jew before Christ died.

"If Christ by His one sacrifice has settled the whole question of our sins, perfectly or completely to the glory of God, then plainly there is no more offering for sin. To offer sacrifices now for the sins of the living and the dead, is the most distinct denial of Christianity, be this by whom it may. But if while protesting against such a human priesthood and vain unscriptural sacrifices, in the pretended offering up of Christ on human devised altars, we ourselves disbelieve the testimony of God to the one sacrifice of Christ, what better off are we than they?"

____________

We must also keep in mind the CONTEXT of "Hebrews"
Thanks again for sharing from the OSAS point of view.

Now, i never said anything but just posted scriptures relevant to the verse you quoted, what's all these quotes from sources of reference who are OSAS preachers that you keep coming up with? Do you not believe what the Holy Spirit clearly says to you through the scriptures, that you would have to go and get the OPINION or shall i simply call it narrative VIEWS of famous OSAS preachers. No offense bro but i'd rather believe what the Holy Spirit clearly says through the scripture than man made doctrines which nullify God's Word. I'm not so interested with that. I'm sorry...

...He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’ You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.” And he said to them: “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’ But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: ‘Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God), then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother. Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” Mark 7:6-13

And again Paul said;

...I have written you quite boldly on some points, as if to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in LEADING THE GENTILES TO OBEY GOD by what I have SAID AND DONE— Romans 15:15-18

...and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:15-17

...For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:12-13

God bless.

Any debate about “works” is such a difficult thing.
No, it is not difficult, when you make it part of our AGAPE LOVE.

1 John 5:3-4 (HCSB)
3 For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden,
4 because whatever has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.

See it ? ? ? When you do something because you AGAPE LOVE THEM, it is NEVER A BURDEN.

We should want and feel the need to do good works for Christ whenever we are born again. We are, after-all, His servants. Our motive to do good works should always be to praise God Almighty. However, we can and will never do enough works to get and to keep salvation.

This is true. If you've ever been locked up you know the first group of people all too well! They are out there, but you know what I can get where they are coming from. Maybe I should start a prison ministry! If the Lord calls me to it!

Talk to VCO he had a prison ministry.

I totally TRUSTED THE LORD when I was saved, that HE would do something with my LIFE. It had to be a SPIRITUAL GIFT, because NOBODY in the Church that I attended in those days ever mentioned I should TOTALLY TRUST THE LORD. I moved to California from Grand Island, Nebraska, NOT KNOW WHY HE WANTED ME THERE. I just Trusted that HE wanted me to move there, because HE KEPT PUTTING IT ON MY HEART. When He finally revealed to me, that He Wanted me to start a Prison Ministry in Pelican Bay State Prison; I did not panic, because I knew nothing about starting a Prison Ministry. WHY ? ? ? I still had TOTAL TRUST IN HIM, and I KNEW HE KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT STARTING A PRISON MINISTRY. I would advise, learn to put your TOTAL TRUST IN HIM, and if the Desire to go into Prison Ministry is still THEIR, go for it. Let me know what your decision is, because if it is Prison Ministry, I have written the rules for Prison Ministry you will want to review.

Now let me tell you about how I found out that I was not gifted for particular ministry. That you Sunday School Teacher for the High School Students. IT WAS AS AWKWARD as can be, I struggled to keep it interesting for them, and I could tell they were as BORED as they can get. I FIRMLY BELIEVE if you are Gifted for a particular Ministry, it will BE JOY, and brings a sense of Excitement to your SOUL. AND YOU WILL NOT BE BORING. Every bit of a the Prison Ministry was a blessing to Soul and Spirit. Yes some just ask to see you, just because they are BORED, Some want to Play the game to get what you can provide like Christmas Cards, Some just want to ridicule your FAITH, etc. LEARN TO REJOICE OVER THE FEW THAT ARE SERIOUS ABOUT HOW TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD.

who has popcorn? I had to open up all posts. Watching the legalists fight again!!
Exactly E-g, funny coincidence as I was reading through various post's it suddenly dawned on me that these legalist's are shadow boxing and guess who wins, their opponent wins "their shadow wins" by a knockout punch of course, which technically means they actually loose to the challenger, something that happens in the opposite way that you are expecting to happen is of course amusingly ironic.

I just showed you what THE Gospel unto Salvation is. Paul spells it out EXACTLY.
Paul doesn't have a different gospel from Jesus, no way. Paul's blood did not make a new covenant. Paul didn't have the world on his shoulders. Paul was not a hypocrite who cursed himself by preaching a different gospel.
We cannot turn from our sins until we are born again.
No way can an unrepentant person get saved.
We are to repent from trying to attain Salvation through dead works, and confess that ONLY Jesus' shed Blood can take away our sins.
Dead works are the sinful things you did before repenting.
If you agree with that, then we're good.
No way do I agree with that, God forbid.

I think you miss my point. A theological position is expressed by various groups. By using them as a reference
does not make you their promoter or even that you are part of their group. But I suppose this might not
be something you like, suggesting theology is a group of ideas expressed from the bible but not the pure
text of scripture ..... is this your approach?
My approach is according to the scriptures.

Not by how you have defined repentance and confession, not even close to the biblical use of the words.
You fell for a secret other language that has a different meaning for 'repent' and 'confession'.
That is goofy and not true.
