Great Minds think alike ;) HAHAH

Okay, I have been on WORTHY Christian Forums for a WEEK now, just to test the waters. It still does not Compare to this Christian site.

PLUS COLUMN

It is VERY Similar to this site, so typing posts would be a cinch.
It has UNLIMITED Editing.
Moderator check occasionally for rule violations.

That's about it on the Plus column.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

NEGATIVE COLUMN

NO Pictures or Videos on the Bible Discussion Forum. They have a SEPARATE thread Just for video, LIMITED to 20 Minutes.
In their Bible Discussion, you have to enclose in Brackets. Like this: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m--ptwd_iI)
Their are WAY MORE people who do not believe in OSAS, and who believe Works are part of SALVATION.
Anyone that calls themselves Christian can Join.
One is a ex-Catholic that went from bad to worse, he does not think he can sin, and got obnoxious when I posted 1 Pet. 2:13-17.
NO BAN LIST.
NO instant way to Jump to the Reference of a previous poster.
Almost impossible to locate the RULES.
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to figure out how to Post a Avatar. Had to ask someone to help. They call it a Profile Photo.
The ex-Catholic had Non-Trinitarian just below his Avatar, because he does not believe in the Deity of the Holy Spirit. Mk. 3:29
Yes, some of them can get down right RUDE, and will not listen to truth, and are totally unteachable.

Over all, it is OKAY, but this is way better, especially IF THEY FIRE THE FIVE MINUTE RULE, in favor of a 20 rule.

Then its not eternal, it is conditional.

Reaping means reaping rewards.. Eternal life is not a reward, it is a gift. Do you understand the diffference?

This is why you all end up in the error you are in.Instead of accepting the scriptures for what they say you end up inventing your own doctrine. The passage in question says:

Galatians 6:
7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

You claim, "Reaping means reaping rewards". Why distort the passage? Why add to the word of God?It says, "reap life everlasting", not rewards as you claim. What is life everlasting?

life:

Strong
zōē
dzo-ay'
From G2198; life (literally or figuratively):

Thayer Definition:
1) life
1a) the state of one who is possessed of vitality or is animate
1b) every living soul
2) life
2a) of the absolute fulness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through him both to the hypostatic “logos” and to Christ in whom the “logos” put on human nature
2b) life real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed, in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ, but after the resurrection to be consummated by new accessions (among them a more perfect body), and to last for ever.

everlasting:
Strong
aiōnios
ahee-o'-nee-os
From G165; perpetual (also used of past time, or past and future as well):

Thayer Definition:
1) without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be
2) without beginning
3) without end, never to cease, everlasting

That is eternal life and contrary to your opinion it is reaped.

Um no. People followed jesus, yet even in John 6, Jesus knew who believed and who did not believe, The people who departed departed because they lacked faith. Many people believe in jesus, bit they do not have faith in jesus
Do you understand the difference?

Here you enter the realm of superior faith, which saves,of which you boast.LOL Your attempt to belitle the faith of some is understandable in your quest to support your doctrine. The fact is,any initial belief in Jesus, even like that of the thief on the cross,is saving faith. The actions which follow will determine if that faith is maintained. This is unlike the thief on the cross who died at that point and more like the woman caught in adultery, who continued in life.Do you understand the difference? It is as Paul says:

Romans 6:
1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Also as the scripture said:

Hebrews 3:
12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of UNBELIEF, in departing from the living God.

The persons being warned here are brethren, hence they have believed and they are saved. They could depart and hence they were with God and they are saved. The reason for departing was a breakdown or loss of faith. What would be the evidence of this?It would be the same as it was for those being used as the example.(Hebrews 3:16-19)

Hebrews 3:
13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Sin would be the evidence of that breakdown or loss of faith.Hence it is not a case of superior faith as you and others imply by your statements but a case of enduring faith as the scriptures teach.

John also said he who sins has never seen or known. God, whoever is born of God can not sin.
People who are saved BY their NEW nature doeth righteousness.

People who are not saved BY their NATURE sins.

Again, do you know the difference?
Remember you had written:
"Remember, God said your works are as filthy bloody rags, if that is what you think you can offer God and expect him to save you, Your mistaken my friend."

Hence my response, which you have ignored with your response above. So I ask again:

Do you understand the context in which this was said?Do you understand the change in context which the advent of Jesus brought? As I wrote before:

"Without the sacrifice of Christ that is very true but God also said:
I John 3:
7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

John is writing to those who are sons of God.(I John 3:1-5)Do you understand why the sacrifice of Christ makes a difference?Do you understand why the person outside of Christ will have no hope regardless of how perfect he has been, but that this is not so for those in Christ as the scripture above shows?"

Answering these questions by using the scriptures and not your opinion will lead you to the truth.

You NEED to read Matthew 7:13-20 FIRST, then read the rest. THAT IS MY WHOLE POINT.

It is Not THAT you KEEP doing the things he says, IT IS WHY YOU KEEP DOING THE THINGS HE SAYS. If it is not PURELY OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM, YOU DO NOT KNOW HIM.

NOTICE THE ONES WHO TRIED TO ENTER BASED ON THEIR WORKS, WITHOUT THE CORRECT MOTIVE:

Matthew 7:22 (HCSB)
22 On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’

WORKS WITHOUT THE CORRECT MOTIVE OF LOVE FOR HIM, ARE A BIG PILE OF FILTHY RAGS. And you do not want to know what the filth is on those rags.

That I NEVER KNEW YOU, is a reference to the inner, personal, LOVE, relationtionship, with the LORD meaning MASTER, that only comes through the BORN AGAIN relationship, where the Holy Spirit comes into you heart (human spirit) to birth your human spirit, bringing it into eternal life, pouring GOD's LOVE directly into your heart (Rom. 5:5) where your human spirit resides.

No amount of righteous Deeds can SAVE YOU, unless you willingly surrender to HIM first OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM, the ONLY pure MOTIVE that GOD VALUES. Therefore you are SAVED before the deeds of righteousness.

Isaiah 64:6 (NIV)
6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

1 Chronicles 28:9 (NIV)
9 "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

1 Chronicles 29:17 (NJB)
17 ‘Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity of motive I have willingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, willingly offering their gifts to you.

Romans 8:27 (NRSV)
27 And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Revelation 2:23 (ESV)
23 . . . And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.

2 Timothy 1:9 (CSBBible)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

So do you serve the LORD out of a sense of Duty, Mat. 7:22;
OR,
Do you serve HIM purely because you LOVE HIM, because HE SAVED YOU ? ? ?

Again I say:

I did not forget anything.Your tirade has nothing to do with understanding the passage in question.Try to keep on the subject in question;the proper understanding of Matthew 7:21-27.

If you ignore the meaning of the word iniquity then you can invent anything you want about this passage. The fact is,this passage speaks to ministers, pastors and so called prophets who preach mightily in the name of the Lord, who prophesy, heal and do mighty works in His name. These are not works of righteousness. These are acts of ministering. While they do these great acts of ministering, they also commit iniquity. They commit adultery, they steal the church's money, they bear false witness etc. and so they are false prophets shown up by their fruits,if persons are careful enough to see. Some will ignore these sins and also because they are ministering greatly, some will think they are not important to their salvation. They are in for a rude awakening and it is they who will say, "Lord,Lord...."

The,"I never knew you..", is as a result of iniquity ie. sin and wickedness because these false prophets thought all was well and the Lord was pleased with them because of the works of ministering in the name of the Lord.

The passage does not warrant your inventions above.

When discussion stops and delusion begins.

"he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting"

life everlasting - is eternal life - the verse says it is a result of sowing.
EG above is saying this is wrong, it is a gift not a result of some action. But to say this contradicts this scripture.

An honest approach would be to address this scripture and its meaning, if it is part of a belief system, but to just
claim it is saying something different than it is clearly saying is delusional.

But to admit eternal life is linked to behaviour change, or lack of it, is too shocking to face.

Put simply salvation is a walk with many parts, each one essential to the whole.
I doubt any sharing from those who so lightly dismiss Gods word.
Delusional is an apt word for their condition.Since it says,"reap", it could not be referring to eternal life although it clearly says so.

God is so amazing in every corner of the scripture He affirms that we cannot by our flesh earn salvation!!

This verse is stating we cannot be right with God through our own effort.

Those that soweth of the flesh (self-effort) shall of the flesh reap corruption.

The latter (sowing to the Spirit) are those that are partakers of His essence (Spirit) because He is in Himself Life Everlasting!! We are reaping HIM!! Amen!

We should never mock God and His finished work in Christ by trying to add to it!!!

I am so sad to read this. So heartbreaking to loose a parent I know so well!!

I know we always think of the things we should have done, this is natural, but I am sure there are many other times that you were there doing what sons do. :)

I will be praying for you and your family.

Your mother knows how much you love/d her, David... I am so sorry to hear of her passing, and hope you do not allow your missing her birthday to mar your memories of her. My sincere condolences to you, your family, and all who loved and will miss her while they still walk this side of life.
