The baptism debate stems from people not getting baptized right away, as was the case in apostolic times. If we baptized immediately, the debate would die down, but sadly its like being in a deposition to get baptized in some churches.

The OSAS vs non-OSAS debate stems from a MISUNDERSTANDING of descriptive vs prescriptive texts. Example verse:
Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Prescriptive reading goes: "You have to hold fast to be saved, you have to do that to become His house"
Descriptive reading goes: "Those who are of the house WILL indeed hold fast the confidence they have"

Instead of being a condition, its an ENCOURAGING passage of HOPE if read in the descriptive way.

For anyone who wants to argue that its the WRONG way to read texts like these: It CANT BE, because God knows the future, we can all agree on that. Why would God bother giving eternal life to someone who wont "make it" in the works salvation view of things? Plus, this reading is the only way to reconcile John 10:28, Romans 8:28ff, John 5:24 and many more eternal security verses. Those verses CANNOT be reconciled to the prescriptive reading of DoItYourself IKEA salvation!

Bro....for the record....I never had a beef with you until you accused me of me of being a snitch.......I have been on here right at 6 years....and I have only tagged a few posts or reported maybe 2 or 3 people with one posting graphic porn pics......I will not put up with a continued twist, embellished, taken out of context line of bs from one that continued to cause issues, divide the thread, cause issues etc........and make no mistake.....I am no stoolie.....and sweep a lot under the rug.....heck...my neighbor (about a mile away) grows about 20 kilos of weed a year and I have never turned him in....!!

Its a good place of GROWING for me anyway. I am HARDSTUCK on the prison mentality! I gotta realize im NOT locked up im in the FREE WORLD and this is an online forum. Nobody is hooping up their paperwork in here! Hahaha!

No such thing as eternal security, as long as men still live in the tents of their flesh (bodies), they are required to work out their salvation in fear and trembling. If this is butchering the word of God then i think i'm home.

God treats us like we are just like Jesus. He gives us eternity, the presence of His Son, our inheritance..seated with His Son in heavenly places...every time we engage Faith action, a continually surrendered life.

Jesus plus nothing = nothing.
Grace plus Faith (a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender) = the beginning of a relationship with Christ.

Jesus plus a Continually surrendered life = willing slavery.

Aiight so. I sin today, renew the connection, sin tomorrow, renew the connection.

Questions are: How do I renew the connection? Do I have to be in a "state of renewed connection" to maintain my eternal life? (think about what I just said, MAINTAINING eternal life, makes no sense but lets not get picky)

Cause if I have to be in a "state of renewed connection" this is just roman catholicism 101 where you gotta be in a 'state of grace'.

Wrong again.....

The faith connection is not what saves, the faith connection is the result of personal salvation in Jesus.

We are saved by grace through faith apart from works.........because of the WORK of Christ Jesus on the cross and his Victory over death and sin on our behalf.

Yes the relationship, eternal life, is maintained by Faith! Continually surrendering our lives to Him and living a life inspired by such surrender. But a true surrender isn't maintaining so I get something in return. Surrender is giving up all rights to submitt our lives to Him.

Since you have redefined "believe" beyond what it means in context of scripture........ have to you denigrate the word "believe" and what it means within the framework of the Gospel.

Because of the life of Faith as I've defined it, when I sin, it's not me doing it but sin dwelling in me doing it. Sangtification 101.
