God imputes or gives righteousness apart from works.

To be made righteous with God is to be saved.

It is God's salvation we are given and not God's grace as has been said on here many times.
You know I stated nothing different and you gave me a red X.... so what is it you are trying to prove?

Saved by faith. And how does the righteousness which is by faith speak? Paul quoted Moses, "The Word is near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart so that you may obey it." That's akin to what our Lord said, "If you abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free."

He is our Passover Lamb. And Moses said of the Passover, "This observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that the law of the Lord is to be on your lips." ("Law" being a synonym for the whole of the revealed will of God - the word, commandments, ways, judgements, precepts, etc, of the Lord.")

Psalm 1, being a partial summation of the Psalms, contrasts the righteous and wicked man. "Blessed is the man who does not 1. Walk in the way of the wicked, 2. Stand in the path of sinners, 3. Sit in the seat of mockers, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law He meditates day and night. The word translated "meditates" in Hebrew means: to murmur, to ponder; imagine, meditate, study, speak, talk, utter, mutter, roar. It is primarily an utterance.

Faith in Jesus Christ means His Word will come from our lips. As it is written in Isaiah 59, "'As for Me, this is My covenant with them,' says the Lord. 'My Spirit who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from Your mouth, or from the mouths of Your offspring, or from the mouths of their offspring from this time on and forever,' says the Lord."

I believed, therefore, I spoke.
And that salvation is secure because of the object of our faith.....Christ Jesus.

You said, "God imputes the righteousness of Christ to the account of the believer."

If you have the righteousness of Christ, you must be God.

Read this carefully and slowly....

Impute means....

Setting to someone's account or reckoning something to another person.

Impute means to give or attribute something to another person.

However, I will run with it and remind you that Jesus paid the penalty for our sin.

What does that mean? It means I and you are sinners saved by grace.

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!
New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
We are not saved by works, but thank God we got saved and continue to work it out by fear and trembling. For once we alienated from God and were enemies in our minds, as shown by our evil behavior. But now He has reconciled us by Christ's physical body through death to present us holy in His sight - if we continue in our faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the Gospel.

God imputes the righteousness of Christ to the account of the believer.
To impute means to assign value.
This means to be in right standing with God.

Psalm 32:2 (NJB)
2 How blessed are those to whom Yahweh imputes no guilt, whose spirit harbours no deceit.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 (NKJV)
20 For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin.

Romans 4:6 (NKJV)
6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:

Romans 4:24-25 (NKJV)
24 but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,
25 who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

Perhaps PS would want to change his vote? Just so he could stand on the right side of the fence, on this critical issue!

I was not expecting the driveway to be icy this morning, as I scooped the snow off, then in the middle of the night got freezing rain. I had to put Ice Melt down so I can go to get more COFFEE.

What did Jesus do on the cross?

He Saved Us.

He did not impute us. (Sounds painful.)

Hebrews 10:14
For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Ephesians 2:16
and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

Colossians 1:20
and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

Colossians 2:14
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Galatians 3:13
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),

Romans 5:9
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

i can go on and on

Salvation is a present possession which is irrevocable, rest assured that the "fear and trembling" is not a reference to salvation being forfeited or lost.

Excellent @RebuildJesussChurch I am so glad we disagree.

I for one, have no comfort level in devaluing the work, grace and love of my Lord and Saviour.

Does that not bother you at all?

Here we are in basic English:

Our God, you bless everyone whose sins you forgive and wipe away (our sins). You bless them by saying, "You told me your sins, without trying to hide them, and now I forgive you." (We are saved.) (Psa 32:1-2 CEV)

No one in this world always does right (they are sinners in need of salvation.). (Ecc 7:20 CEV)

In the Scriptures David talks about the blessings that come to people who are acceptable to God, even though they don't do anything to deserve these blessings (undeserved salvation). (Rom 4:6 CEV)

But these words were not written only for Abraham. They were written for us, since we will also be accepted because of our faith in God, who raised our Lord Jesus to life. God gave Jesus to die for our sins (salvation), and he raised him to life, so that we would be made acceptable to God. (Rom 4:23-25 CEV)

Our sins are forgiven. We are sinners saved by God. We do not receive grace, but are washed in the blood of the lamb.

Then do not devalue what God has done for us by using the word "imputation"
