Wow a lot happened in my time away from this thread. If I may add some of my thoughts on the matter of osas I am a osas believer but I also think there is a difference between a christian by title and a christian by heart. I have noticed that some come to christ but lack that passion they go on the path for a bit but soon fall back into the world, others come to christ have that passion at first but then burn out and again go back to the world, some come to christ and continue to go on the path but are superficial they do everything right except having that close and intimate bond with him, they are about works and study the scriptures they pray and go to church but in the end they are just playing the religion game and then there are those who come to him with a fiery passion build that intimacy and closeness and soar in their faith and continue to show that love and passion they are true children of God.

Now out all the types I have seen the latter is the only one I can safely say can never lose their salvation because these types of believer represent the shepherd and the sheep perfectly, the thing about sheep is that they don't just follow and listen to the shpherd they remain close to him. The closeness the intimacy the love and the bond this is what seperates the seed that falls on good soil vs the seeds that fall on dry soil and don't sprout and the seed that sprouts but the thorns and weeds die it out.
The texts’ explicit assertion that the second soil person received and believed the word (Matthew 13:20; Luke 8:13).

What I don't understand is what makes a person like that? what it is exactly that makes these types of believers I listed vs the ones who who have that constant passion and love for him?

The blessed assurance that we share is a wonderful thing indeed, my dear sister!:) PTL!
But @oyster67 ...
You believe we can lose our Salvation , is that correct?
I used to believe that to until I searched the Scriptures because the warnings terrified me , and confused me thinking " One moment I am saved , then I am not " and that was because I did not realise who the author was writing to , and we must take all things into consideration...
Once I understood these things , wow , my eyes were opened to more gems as I dug...
Sometimes we just look at Scripture instead of digging ...

DorothyMae....as you know I have been confused over OSAS...God has brought me through to his truth....I will never lose my salvation...I am born again....I can assure you...it has nothing to do with agreeing with others.....it’s a spiritual thing....God let me know that through my spirit...he confirmed it to me.....
So I say to the enemy......I am no longer weak in this area......so you know what you can do.

I’m talking to Satan DorothyMae..not you personally.
I know you are not talking to me there, dear Jackrosie. I’m glad he cannot attack you on that point. I think there’s a better way but any way is better than being vulnerable.

For those who love Jesus, yes.
So just to clear up any confusion, you say you don't belive in osas but then you say for those who love Jesus yes.
So is it more like what I described in my post? with the types of believers the seeds and the sheep thing?

The only lens that matters is the biblical one.... and Jesus tells those believers exist, perhaps we can not relate to it as we compare it to ourselves but then being overly subjective when dealing with what is objective eternal truth can be a stumbling block.

If one is not taught and "discipled" how to walk, live "under grace" falling from grace can and does happen and that is not losing one's

salvation .... that is not living out the truth of who we are in Christ.

No. Throwing your car keys in the Lake is not like losing them. You know exactly were they are because you put them there willfully.
The people I know who have fallen away threw away their salvation and they knew what they were doing. None lost by neglect. All were faced with either the troubles of this life or the pleasures there of as Jesus said happens. None were afraid they’d lost it. They changed their minds and hearts.

I suppose it is just hard for me to grasp. I have tried to help people who fit these descriptions but I could tell their seed was not in good soil and no matter what I tried they just couldn't make that connection with him and I wonder why it wasn't that way for me.

But I worry for people like this, to want to be a Christian but to just feel dry and empty about it....

Most likely they have become so sin conscious they have lost sight of grace.

Sin is attractive under the law... We desire holiness when we understand who we are in Christ.

How can one love their salvation if they do not first love Jesus?
This is a good question. It’s actually true that we first love our salvation same as children first love their parents because they meet their needs. It’s only later, maybe, one comes to love for a different reason.

How does one know? The christians who talk ostly about their salvation, how wonderful it is, or generally what they GET out of Jesus love the gifts. Those who love the giver don’t talk about the gift that much. They have other matters related to Jesus to talk about.

Wow, you can peer into the heart of man.
Did you see the Holy Spirit being removed too?

I was once that way too. I finally came to realize Jesus loved me and did not require me to be perfect. He just wants us to do our best and He gave us His Holy Spirit to help. We all make mistakes every day, but that does not mean we have lost our salvation.

Hebrews
13:5 [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Jesus loves us, this we know.
