My dear, that was Jesus in you asking that question! And I am not flattering you. The HS within me recognizes his voice in your words.

I agree...but didn’t like to say....I believe also it was the Holy Spirit speaking through me.

I’m waiting for an answer on my question that I posted 3x so far only you have replied @DorothyMae ...

I also agree 100 % about the fruit that aChristian should bear.

That has always baffled me..many a time a time I have said to the Lord

Lord I see no fruit I don’t understand....but in others I see much fruit....in other words the Lord shines out of them.
Now you can understand what James 2:14 is saying. ;)

Surely we are to see ourselves in Scripture.
Only if it is the truth. And it’s a better to let another see the scripture in you. “Let another praise you, not your own lips.” Paul saw himself as the chief of sinners which is easier to understand if we think about the truth that he was personally responsible for some christians ring dragged out and stoned. If one wants to build godly self esteem, it’s best to ask God to show you what He thinks of you.

Shouldn’t we see them by their fruit...Magenta?
I think many err to think they know the designs God has on another, or in failing to comprehend the fact that they do not see all of another person's life, in particular places where fruit may be more obvious.

But the Lord said you shall know them by their fruit...Magenta?

There is no mistake in those words.

“You shall know them by their fruits”

Yes and we do that by seeing ourselves in Scripture just as I said though you present your response as if in disagreement.

You have the perfect attitude. You suspected it was the HS but didn’t claim it. You let another say it was God speaking through you.

That is exactly how it should be done. Well done faithful daughter of the Father!

I was asking for Scripture, not what you think. Your claim was That is what it says.
Well it is so obvious as to why we wept bitterly from the description it didn’t need to be said. If I write

a hammer dropped on her toe and she wept for an hour, I don’t need to write why she wept.

You are filled with flattery.. yet your doctrine is wrong as night is not day.

You can never confess, nor be aware of all your sins... and it is human pride that supports the idea one can atone for one's sins and not need a Saviour.

Not according to Jesus. You know them by the character their theology produces.
Go read that passage in context ...Jesus is talking about false teachers....false teachers have followers that are just as bad if not worse.

If we pick the verses we’d like to say describe us, we are deceiving ourselves. Do you see? Who is the better judge of us, the self or others? Depends upon the degree of the love of truth right? We are more likely to pick flattering verses that aren’t true. Just because it’s in the Bible doesn’t mean it’s talking about us.

False teachers portray themselves as pious and with much flattery.... and may even call Him Lord.

The fruit is the product of their ministry, He is not speaking solely about the fruits of the Spirit.

People who follow teachers with bad doctrine....... are the bad fruit of the false teacher.

Nonsense. The leader cannot be responsible for how his followers twist what he says.
