this is all self righteousness, it is saying Gods love is based on how well you do or how much work you do.

obedience to God is faith, but not as you think , it is trust in God,

sin is lack of of trust in God.

if I trust God that it is in my best interest and I will truly be blessed if I do not commit sexual sin, or that I will hurt myself and others if I do commit it, I will not commit sexual sin, not because I love God, not because I want to earn salvation, but because I trust God.

noah built the ark because he trusted god

abraham offered to sacrifice his son because he trusted God,

read hebrewd wall wall of faith, all were obedient because they trusted God,

again, you can not say you trust God, when you do not even trust him to save you completely, let alone give him your sin areas, I can okay rules or laws. But if it is not out of trust in God, but for gaining salvation.
How come you guys are Always talking about sexual sin?
I can't get passed this.
Sorry.

Out of the cursed ground wasn't it? a product of his own work.

Did Abel create the sheep? or whatever the animal was.

Why are you always pointing minor things out and ignoring the major

and ps,, it is usually You all who all use sexual sin or murder

Did Abel create the sheep? or whatever the animal was.
The ground was cursed.
But jesus said the sins of the father are not imputed to the sons.
Just as Adam's sin is not imputed to us --- only its effects.

Genesis 3:17b
In toil they will eat of the fruit of the ground, and Adam will TOIL all the days of his life. Toil was necessary to make food grow.

It's not correct to say that Cain toiled as if Abel did not, as is Dcon's wording.
They BOTH toiled to obain their offering.

Now, why Cain's was not accepted is left up to the theologians.
It would seem that one wa sincere and one was not.

Or

One was the best of the crop
and one was not
and so the HEART was not in the offering.

There are differing opinions. Where the bible is not clear, we cannot create our own reason.

God told Cain not to be angry, to continue in doing good and that he would be accepted.
Genesis 4:7

God created both the sheep and the fruit of the ground.

Yes, actually the remaining 11 disciples fell away, but this was only temporary (Matthew 26:31) and we see that a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.. (Proverbs 24:16). What about those who set out to be disciples of Christ, but then permanently fall away because they were offended by the words of Jesus? What did Jesus say about them in John 6:64? Did not believe.
So before Jesus there were righteous men then correct?

5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. Luke 1:5-6

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:32

Jesus used it, not me.

It has to do with "sweat" Fran.

It's seen in many different places. Not to mix linen and wool. Why did the priests wear linen garments? Because with linen there's no sweat.

The cloth that was placed over the face of Jesus was a sweat headband that they wore around their head in those days while working. Not a napkin. Wrong English word.

It was separated from the linen shroud.

These are revelation, allegorically seen truths. And they are all through scriptures.

Something the religious hate.

I have always been confused concerning Cain & Abel
Don't worry about it.

When the bible is not clear, we're not to dwell on it.

Abel offered a sacrifice that was acceptable. Maybe because it was an animal -- like for sacrifices.

Cain also offered a sacrifice (he gave up some of his food for the year) but it was not acceptable. Maybe because it didn't have blood in it. The life is in the blood.

that's all we know. The rest is conjecture.

I don't understand.

Farmers sweat.
Shepherds sweat.

I'm not understanding something.

I guess if I could have gotten past the sexual sin thing, I might have said:

Oh, so now it's TRUST

And not FAITH

Make up your mind !!

Working the cursed ground is what Cain did. Work.

Shepherds tend sheep. Sheep are not cursed...and up to the age of three? They will not act belligerently in any way. Lambs.

Another reason why the animals sacrificed were all under the age of three. Innocent.

It's not hard

Sabbath rest. Jesus is our Sabbath rest. No sweat. His yoke is easy...easy believism? you betcha. If not none would be saved by His work.

That's His work in us. Not our working to make ourselves pure and holy. He has already done it.

Ok.
Gotcha.
I agree.

And in Exodus, one without blemish.
As was Jesus.

We almost agree.
He has not already done everything.
Sanctification is a work that we do with God so as to be holy and set apart.
We must do the work of the Kingdom.
Mathew 5 to 7.
The beattudes. Jesus tells us what we are to do to be members of the Kingdom.
He tells parables about the Kingdom and how precious it is.
If we're to be IN THE KINGDOM, we must keep the Kingdom rules.
Just as we keep the rules of the States.
The Kingdom is a real "place" that Jesus wanted to set up here on earth.

WE are the citizens of that Kingdom.
I might start a thread on this. it's important.
