Outside of OSAS you can do NOTHING for Jesus ... you are still trying to keep/maintain salvation.... Jesus does not like that btw.

All you got is false accusations.
This too is a fruit of OSAS. Adherents to this theology believe they can do nothing for Jesus. This is why there so much from them discouraging works. They believe there are no works to be done in his name.

Now I know VCO will protest I’ve said another false accusation. But that member will not read his teammate’s post to see that this view of works is what was said. “Outside of OSAS ... you can do nothing for Jesus.”

I have no idea what he/she thinks OSAS does for Jesus. I cannot recall that as an item on the list of commandments Jesus gave for us to do for him. But it certainly is cheap.

That’s the term Jesus used. To fall away from the faith means one was a true born again believer who gave up their faith for reasons He said happen and separated them selves from faith making them no longer a believer.
No DorothyMae,

A true born again believer’s heart is “good ground” - they do NOT lose their salvation in Christ. They bring forth fruit - some 30,60, 100.

People that have a “wayside, stony or thorns and briers” heart call themselves believers but, are not.

So, it seems a true born again believer falls away but, that’s NOT true.

Everyone’s faith in Christ as Savior, Lord and King will be tested.

Those in “good ground” will bear fruit because they are being fed God’s Word and drinking God’s Holy Spirit both of which sustain the believer in persecution and give them ability to deny the cares of this world, their faith is NOT snatched away from them.

Jesus loses NONE that The Father gives Him.

You have picked up on someone's warped view of salvation.

OSAS is not even the correct term. Christians who believe the true Gospel hold to THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER. And that is based solely on (1) Christ and His finished work of redemption as well as (2) justification by grace through faith, where God justifies the one who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Anyone who claims that after that "you can do nothing for Jesus" is simply ignorant. All one has to do is look at Ephesians 2:8-10: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

I did not pick him. He picked me. But you are right it is warped. Why don’t you address him and tell him his view of salvation under OSAS is warped??? Only one of you has been honest enough to tell another of you that they are OFF. So far you seem to all agree with each other. Lack of correction is agreement.

No DorothyMae,

The Lord calls us, if we say Yes, He chooses us.

Many are called, few are chosen.

Stop all the judging and condemning of people that love God.

Jackrosie, He knows all about everyone so that makes no difference in our eternal destiny. He never promises his children cannot leave. The prodigal son left and the father DID NOT go after him. The 70 left Jesus and Jesus did not go after them. Paul listed people who had left and offered no hope that God was holding them tight.

I know OSAS theology well and you won’t find those promises. He won’t reject you but you can resist and reject him. And changing your mind is also possible. I know you don’t believe this.

For it is written in the bible.

About what the Father gives to the Son.

You deny scripture.....you disagree with God’s word.

What an insult to God!........absolute disgrace.......

I can not believe what you have said here....how many times have people tried to help you see the truth.

It must be because we are doing it in our own strength and not God’s....

One thing I believe for sure DorothyMae ain’t listening.

From what I see of her posts....she is fighting that the word of God isn’t true....it’s there for all to see.

How many times do we tell her about what the Father gives to the Son.....she then picks up other scripture to twist what God said.

No one can pluck a true born again believer out of God’s Hand.
Some people would argue that some get plucked anyway even though the Bible says no one can pluck them, it can either be either no one can, or someone can pluck them, I really cannot understand this.
Why do people think to trust in God's safety is to be slack about sin, the safety that God provided for me makes me take God a lot more and not less seriously, I don't want to be a disappointment to Him.
Good night guys.

Salvation is a BLOOD COVENANT sealed with The Blood of The Lamb of God for all eternity.

Blood covenants end when one dies, Jesus has risen and is alive forever more and has promised all that believe in Him shall have eternal life and also rise from the dead, alive forevermore!

The Blood Covenant of The Lamb of God NEVER ENDS. We are His NOW and will ALWAYS AND FOREVERMORE BE HIS!

Do you think how you have twisted my words is not PLAINLY evident.

I actually appreciate that you do this, so that your dis-ingeniousness is on display for all to see. Feeling insecure in false dogma?

OSAS is the correct doctrine that does EVERYTHING for Jesus

NOSAS salvation is not secure therefore not complete.

If you are not justified then a person cannot have the righteousness of God in Christ, if one does not have the righteousness of God in Christ then one's good works are still filthy rags because they do not come from Jesus but from self.

There is NO, "IT IS FINISHED" for NOSAS .. Good Works only come after "IT IS FINISHED" .. not before!!

Jesus only gives eternal life and nothing less.. so what exactly have you trusted Him for conditional eternal life... so you make Him a liar.

I do not have a warped view of the Gospel and once saved always saved states it perfectly well.

And you sir should go back and read my before you accuse me of having a warped view of salvation.

My point was if salvation is not secure then "works" are not from His righteousness but our own to maintain/sustain salvation.

God never promises he will bring you back. The men Paul says had left the faith were not spoken of those God would bring back no fear. Jesus spoke of the faith of some from the imperishable seed, the Word, that perished and he offered no comfort in God reviving them.

I know you believe it. God does pursue those who leave but He doesn’t guarantee He will override their decision. One of your team says she resisted him for 28 YEARS. They are those who resist until the end and they become lost.

This is absolutely ridiculous, the imperishable seed is exactly that... the person who is saved receives the imperishable seed .. meaning it does not perish ever!!

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 1 Peter 1:23

I know more than those believers about it because I look at the fruit whereas those adherents only see the individual scripture they like (ignoring the others) and church startements. Original and thoughts are rare.

For example, the idea that Jesus taught that a man CAN FALL AWAY or walk away not being snatched but leaving on his own doesn’t occur to them. No one can snatch FROM THE OUTSIDE OF YOU but you can still CHOOSE TO LEAVE is not tolerated.
Wrong again on many levels.

How does a person leave a verdict of innocent and re-incur debt that has been paid in full.

How does a person spiritually unbirth themselves.

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

Therefore in all cases it would take act of God not a "CHOOSE TO LEAVE"

No where does scripture states God un-justifies, un-redeems or un-sanctifies a person... nowhere.

Is that all you guys can think of such that this is the question you ask? This is why I posted as I did initially. Such repeated cry’s discouraging doing good lest one be “working for salvation” and the world misses out on blessings God would do through His people. My Bible tells me to encourage others to do good works not warn them against doing them as they are meaningless to God as it concerns salvation and salvation, for the OSAS believer is all there is.
You make false allegations. We are secure in Christ, we understand fully the blood of the lamb as covering for all sin eternally, our GOOD WORKS are the correct good works .. the work of Abel ... not the works of Cain.

Why so you need to boast to much of your good works?
Cain has a lot of pride his good works too.

@EleventhHour - you are a very dear and precious sister in Christ to me, I know that you love God with all your heart, mind soul and body....Like you, I too am ROCK SOLID IN FAITH IN CHRIST ALONE.

It's just time for you to come up higher. There's so much more God wants you and all that love Him to know and understand.

Here's a challenge......test the water......see if there's more for you....

Everyone knows Psalm 23, I'm sure you're very acquainted with it and intellectually know it very well, probably even have it memorized........

Go back to Psalm 23 and open your heart and your mind in all humility of spirit and diligently seeking Truth and ask the Holy Spirit to feed you secret hidden manna from the scriptures of Psalm 23......see and hear what the Spirit is saying to you specifically in Psalm 23.........

Don't be in a hurry, just sit with Jesus (The Word) and the Holy Spirit enjoying God's love for you and ask questions about the Psalm and listen.......(y)
I am quite high up already Thank you!! :D jk

You are not paying attention Lafftur.

Reason is a God given tool, there are concepts in scripture to be understood, that takes rational thought....like justification, imputed

righteousness, salvation.. it is not possible to divorce our thinking processes from understanding scripture.

Is scripture not the inspired word of God... do words not require the use of our intellect to understand them in context, to understand the definition of those words, to understand the historical-cultural time when those words were penned, to understand the audience to whom those words were penned.

Reading scripture is not an exercise in telepathy with God .. it requires thought too.

We lean on the understanding of the Holy Spirit not our own, but it is still understanding....... that is using reason, albeit the spiritual reasoning of God.
