did adam chose to disobey

or was he forced to disobey because he had no choice
She is arguing something different EG, she is stating the God never gave them a choice... not whether they had a choice, we are all talking past each other.

I really think you just want to be argumentative now.

I agree God did NOT say to them "you have a choice" no one is supporting this idea... we know it is not in scripture.

Completely disagree...trying to understand and find the truth....

She is not arguing..she is trying to find truth..which for some reason don’t like...because I’m not understanding you.

No it wasn’t a member brought choice into the discussion...I then questioned..
I will go back but I saw no one is state they were given a choice.

However, they did have choice.

There is a huge difference in these two statements.

Scroll back you will find it between EG and I.....I question choice that he said Adam and Eve had...there is nothing scriptural to support that they had a choice...only a command.

Not sure what the point is, we all agree they were not given a choice "to eat or not eat" the forbidden fruit, they were given a command.

They chose to disobey. Quite simple.

Carry on.....

The pretense is, that if it is not specifically and explicitly articulated in Scripture, it is not true, which is is a false equivalence.

Atheists and other non-believers make the same type of arguments.

Once again you twist my posts.

I am trying to understand.....at the moment I understand nothing from you only confusion and twisting of what I post.

It’s like you have a real problem with me not agreeing with you...sorry I only agree with scripture.

That is not what she is stating.

What she is stating is that God did not give them a choice with regards to the fruit.

God did not say.... You have a choice here on this fruit.. that is her point.

Everyone knows that is not in scripture so not even sure why are discussing it really.

once againm as a child when your father gave you a command

do you realise you had a choice

obey and all would be well

disobey and suffer the consequences?

God told adam, In the day you eat of this tree you will die

Adam knew that when he took and sinned.. He did not do it in ignorance

As a young child no I never knew what a choice was......neither did I know what consequences were.
I never knew what choice was until well into adulthood..because I was controlled by parents and thought it was normal....

I already told her that was true
but that is not the point if my original argument that Adam and Eve had a choice

My point is did God explain to Adam that he had a choice.....did he tell him if he disobeyed there would be consequences?
