Can you show me there post where they were wrong?...the misuse of the fruit of the Holy Spirit?

The context does not stop when Christ brings up false teachers/profits. The context continues. English sometimes messes us up because it adds periods to phrases that should be a continuation. In that specific passage, if you read it like there is no period at the end and continue it to the next verse, you can see where it ties together.

2 Timothy 4
[2] Preach the word; be ready in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

If you saw someone about to walk in the path of a moving vehicle, would you not force them away from that path to save them? ;)

Didn't you Rebuke once already? How many more times do you think is required? If they do not get it once, why would you believe they will get it by a continuation of rebukes?

Only God knows who is a tare.

Yes He does. And I have had to grow myself. I have misinterpreted verses and then got into knock down and name calling from a person to person format. And did God ever correct me. Eventually, I felt like I was on my hands and knees crawling back to apologize.

Quite a few have misinterpreted verses on this thread.

It's not a Salvation situation by not fully understanding a verse, or accumulation of verses. It's not a Salvation situation to disagree with one another. But the reason we have different views, outside where our revelation in God is at, is so we will take the other view and see if there is "truth" to it. And if there are "truths" to it, maybe it's good to recheck our own view.

A personal revelation from God is special. But that revelation is meant to develop into greater understanding over time. And when we have some understanding, we feel good about it as we should. But we tend to let self get involved with our revelation. And sadly, that is where we fail at the most.

Isn't that how we grow? I have done it many times. I doubt a single one of us has ever got it right the first time around.
However, we do not need to have it wrong first to get it right.

Perhaps better to withhold judgement, be humble if one is learning rather than becoming dogmatic... because once we adopt false

doctrine it is not easily shed... and this very thread is evidence of that indeed!

Very well stated! When I think about "false doctrines," I think about people trying to rob another of their money, or people who are possessed by the devil, or people who are claiming another way to God outside of Christ. When it comes to how we interpret Verses, it does not always mean a "false doctrine," more than it means too stubborn to see other viewpoints.

And I will add, this is not directed at you because I agree with your understanding of the Verse in Matthew that is in question.

Were supposed to...yes.

Being in God's Image sadly means we are not perfect like God is. And I have never met a person, including myself, that does not make mistakes. If I was as perfect as I can sometimes believe myself to be, I would have a million written books and living a much better life than I am now ;)
