Just a point ....

Perhaps you might want to think differently about the Pharisees? Since Jesus called them sons of vipers. Can vipers do anything good? They wanted Jesus gone. Jesus was constantly getting in their face about the hypocrisy.

That's all Peter...going back to what I was doing.
I think you need to understand the pharisees were a large group of different people.
Nicodemus for instance. And many later came to faith, so they were not all lost
and in total rebellion against God. It is why it is wrong to say everything the pharisees
did was wrong. Jesus emphasised their righteous teaching was good, just they did not
follow it themselves.

The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice.
Matt 23:2-3

Not bothered by sin means that sin doesn't control you, you aren't scared of going to hell because you know how much God loves you.

You aren't your past mistakes, you are the person God is making you to become.

God chastens you when you feed your flesh and indulge in who you used to be instead of cutting out the tunores and learning to live a new life in Him.

Why is that so hard to grasp?

Sometimes I think it's semantics and sometimes I wonder if some folks are never chastened and aren't true kids of God?

Only God really knows who are His kids.
why do people other, if you take him word for word he is talking sinless perfection, but if you ask him, he will not answer.

even he, if he thinks about it, has to realize he contradicting himself, (Wh does God have to chasten us if we are sinless, or just mess up from time to time,

hhas also been here long enough to know we do not teach what he said, yet he continues,

Funny you quote that......and especially the reference to CAIN.....the context is false teachers and first on the list is CAIN who taught a WORKS based salvation.....exactly like you do.....and a few others just like you.........hilarious.....!
I am with you on comparing Cain to those trying to attain or maintain salvation by the works of their hands brother.

I think the reason God rejected Cain's sacrifice is widely misunderstood.

I have seen commentators say that perhaps Cain held back some of his good grain, and if he had only given MORE of the works of his hands God would have accepted it.

When God killed the sheep to clothe Adam and Eve he was ordaining what were acceptable sacrifices. Sins can only be remitted by the shedding of innocent blood. As a foreshadow of the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world, Jesus Christ.

Even though God didn't accept Cain's sacrifice, it wasn't until Cain's pride took over, and he slew his brother, that God cursed him.

Unfortunately, I think you are right in saying some are doing the same thing today by bringing the work of their own hands as payment and sacrifice for what God has already paid.

That is why I would just say to remain loving towards them in the hope that they will repent of their pride and anger, and see that Jesus' Sacrifice is sufficient.

The problem with "don't worry about sin", is its direct relationship with "don't worry about repentance".

That crosses the line.
they don't understand that they have to crucify the flesh in repentance.... even Jesus said to take drastic measures to get the sin out of your life or it will send one to hell.....if the mind eye to the soul is evil, pluck out your eye,,,,, if the actions of you hands are evil, cut them off....of course these are metaphoric examples, but the measure of intensity is not metaphoric.................be blessed

Repentance is not a singular event, right? Is it possible that once you have truly repented of a particular SIN , that SIN does not have dominion over you or entangles you anymore ?

I have not stolen or coveted in decades...that particular SIN no longer has dominion over me, and I have repented from it totally.

How did I repent from it? I renewed my mind to God's word, so my mind would match my spirit, which enabled me to crucify the flesh to this particular SIN.

So I do not ever worry about the SIN of coveting or stealing...

Now apply that to XXXX SIN and this is how we become overcomes of SIN now, not later.
i do not think repent s enough at times, I know many who repent of a sin, have great sorrow, yet struggle, I agree with God, this is a sin, yet the very thing I do not want to do, I do. You can not repent of that sin, when you already acknowledge it is sin,

to me it is learning to love outside of self, when I have to stop feeding myself because it hurts, and start to love others in an area I struggle with, I find victory,

it is a need to take care of a pain or something we desire. That causes us to sin.

Those aren't assumptions.....

You cant possibly believe what you just said & run with those that don't.

You believe what they believe, because every time they post what they believe, you put your big "LIKE" on them.

What idiot would put their "like" on a SDA post if they didn't believe it?

Your actions give you away.
Saturday advents?

You can "like" a post without agreeing with everything a person believes.you "like" quite a bit of posts of people who don't agree with your theology.

So judge yourself first, before you start making up laws God never placed on people.

Hebrews 8:12
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Psalm 103
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
John 19
30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

The Lord said these and other verses to me. When I was praying to Him years ago, feeling despondent, He said, "All of your sins have been paid for, forget about them", and a peace that I hadn't felt in years came over me.

It was THEN that sins that I had struggled with no longer had a hold on me.

This idea of letting go, and simply believing and trusting in the Lord, that HE is in control, and you don't have to struggle any longer, is counter-intuitive to human beings. ANOTHER reason I know it's true.

Hi PennEd...I just read through Psalm 103, as you know from another post i have made from a new thread a few days ago I have been in confession to my Lord Jesus for my slip, I just want to say Psalm 103 has really brought the healing to my soul, yesterday my heavenly Father brought me to repentance, today i have a new song on my heart, all the glory to God, and it is all through the work that my Lord Jesus has done...Years ago i was a drinker, i drank to get drunk, i enjoyed my sin untill God put the desire in my heart and i gave my life to Jesus...Now i don`t get drunk, i do not enjoy my sin, but sometimes i am still tempted to let go of my Lords hand and walk by myself, but the difference is i have no pleasure, i cry and sob to God because i know i have hurt my Lord, i see how He has brought me from a broken women who used to hang over the toilet bowl being sick, or sleeping wherever my head fell to someone who now does not get in that state, avoids places where temptation is strong, and seeing through my confession and repenting to the Lord how much weaker the temptation has a hold on me, i can now remove myself from drinking to get drunk to getting home and into bed without the toilet part or falling into a heap on the floor...I am a sinner and i always will be, but by the Grace of God through my Lord Jesus Christ i can hold my head up high and proclaim from the roof tops that i am a child of God...I have not worked or added anything to this change in my life other then obeying my Father untill i fall again, it does not make me unsaved...And thank you for posting Psalm 103, it`s truly beautiful and just what i needed...Praise God...xox...

I've never understood why people get mad when someone who agrees with their beliefs, puts a like on someone's post whose views are contrary to their own. I put likes on posts to let them know that I have either read it, or read it and replied, or read it and only liked a certain part of the post...

Stephen,

if you are referring to Ariel as an 'idiot', I really don't appreciate it or think it is appropriate -
this doesn't sound like 'correction in Love'...remember, she is a Mother and Child of God...

your emotions are out of hand brother, please take a rest, you act and sound like it is
greatly needed, and no, I don't mean just you...
You know I totally read over that part. Is it bad I am getting immune to name calling when it's directed towards me since it seems so common here on CC?

Are they slamming others in the posts I like?

I judge post by post, not condemn folks for one post that God may change later as they grow.

Do you believe God can actually change hearts and minds or is it just talk for you?

I like posts that shows me they heard what I was saying and I understood their point and could see where they got it from the Bible.

Sometimes they will go beyond what I agree with and I will at that time address what I disagree with.
.I believe it's unrealistic to expect that people will agree 100% all the time.

I love my husband but we don't agree 100% of the time. We have been blessed to agree on the key important things though.

No what you don't understand is that we do crucify the flesh but you know what?

Jesus ain't on the cross no more.

You can focus on death, but some folks focus on the life God gives AFTER CHRIST ressurection..

We learn to eat meat to learn discernment. Then let the bad/evil die and the good continue to grow and live in our lives.

***again half the truth is more dangerous than a flat out lie.****
