what in the world is a thread dedicated to judging the quality of another person's professed faith doing in the bible discussion forum?

y'all don't sit on thrones yet. so who are we to judge someone else's servant?
The bible doesn't say Honor the king when you feel like it.
You can still honor your leaders even if you don't agree with their views. You just don't get caught up with the slander of leaders like the world does.

I always appreciate your posts, deep and full of wisdom. What you're saying is right,to pray for our gov't.But I did not attack Obama in my post.I stated what he believes in his own words. I cannot support a man that lies the way this man has. He may be a lot of things but a Christian isnt one.Anyone who mocks the Bible as he has is not a Christian. And that is telling the truth, not attacking him.
Thank you very much, Sister Kayla for explaining your post. I promise you, I'm not attacking you, dear. Or anyone else. I'm just concerned that the Christians in our country may get so lost in our judgments against our leaders that we forget that the first priority concerning government is to pray for authorities, that they would hear and follow God's wisdom. Ya know?

I totally agree with you there! It would be wonderful to have such leaders in our country. Its too bad greed and power have corrupted so many.

Obama, as the President of the United States, is held up as an example of what Christianity is. That's one of the reasons why I started this thread. I wanted to show the contrast regarding what he says, and does, compared to biblical Christianity.

Obama's "Christianity" influences millions. Millions of people who don't read their Bibles, that is. Those who believe their good works, tolerance, acceptance, and "loving attitudes" will carry them to heaven. The ones who believe they are doing "God's work" when they terminate an unwanted pregnancy, for the "mental and spiritual health" of the mother.

Those who believe that since God is love, love should "win" in regard to two homosexuals marrying.

The same ones who believe that all religions are "valid" and lead to the same place. That we all worship the same God, but in different ways.

In short, the things that are touted to prove Obama is a model Christian, are things that are an abomination to the God of the Bible.

Could any of us, who claim to be Christians, praise abortion, homosexuality, or other religions with the fervor President Obama does? Would any of us violate our consciences by claiming aborted children are not actually human, that homosexual relationships are blessed by God as long as they're monogamous, or religions that lead to the literal damnation of millions upon millions of people are just as "valid" as Christianity?

Let me ask this: If you were given fifteen minutes to spent with President Obama, and you were permitted to talk about whatever you wished, would you spend that time talking about the economy, crime, foreign policy, etc., or would you try and lead this man to Christ?

If people point to Obama as an example of biblical Christianity, and we neglect efforts to correct them, we have failed our President, his supporters, and God's command to share the true gospel.

I have no desire to ever talk to him, and I would refuse his audience. Lead him to Christ?
No man will ever do that. Only the spirit of God has the power to do that, and obama has hardened his heart to the extent that I don't see it happening.
1 Timothy 4:1,2 describe him to a tee.................. " Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron"

Takes more than 15 minutes to unto a lifetime of marxist programming so politics is out of the question. As for evangelizing, i think pharoah's heart is pretty hardened but i guess its worth a shot. Good luck though, evangelizing to people who think they are christian because they were born into it or whatever is hard work.

Desecrated white house. Yes please do pray for Obama. (rolleyes).

Pray for the inhabitants instead. We are the ones that will reap the wrath on this nation. Pray that your flight not be in winter, and mercy for those with sucking babes.(that would be babies for you w/o bibles)

I'm so tired of hearing the mainstream liberal media proclaim that President Obama is a Christian.

Here's six reasons that prove he is not a Christian:

1. Obama believes there are many paths to heaven

2. Obama denies the authority of the Bible

3. Obama supports homosexuality

4. Obama supports abortion

5. Obama affirms Islam

6. Obama has no bona fide Christian testimony

Add more as you see fit.
Tell me, do you pray for him (and his government) as much or more than you criticize him?

Why don't you stop whining and whinging about the type of government you have and do something about it (through prayer) as Paul commands Christians to do! 1Sam 12v23, 1Tim 2v1-8

The type of government that YOU get is directly proportional to what you pray (or don't as the case may be) for!

From my facebook feed page.....................

[h=6]Franklin Graham

[/h]2 hrs ·

The President had the White House lit up in rainbow colors to celebrate the Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage. This is outrageous—a real slap in the face to the millions of Americans who do not support same-sex marriage and whose voice is being ignored. God is the one who gave the rainbow, and it was associated with His judgment. God sent a flood to wipe out the entire world because mankind had become so wicked and violent. One man, Noah, was found righteous and escaped God’s judgment with his family. The rainbow was a sign to Noah that God would not use the flood again to judge the world. But one day God is going to judge sin—all sin. Only those who are found righteous will be able to escape His judgment. That righteousness comes through faith, believing on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ who took our sins and shed His blood on the cross for each and every one. So, when we see the gay pride rainbow splashed on business advertisements and many people’s Facebook pages, may it remind all of us of God’s judgment to come. Are you ready? Are your sins forgiven?

What amazes me about some is the fact that they will say it is impossible and or wrong to make a statement about Obama and his salvation or lack thereof based upon his words and actions, but they will in turn make the same judgment about someone who disagrees with their working for salvation gospel......! Me....I will stick with the bible....a tree shall be known by it's fruit that it bears and a man will be justified and or judged by the words that come out of his mouth.....if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is probably not a pigeon!...........

Well first you need to understand the difference in making a judgment call on somebody, and being able to call another brother or sister out for how they are speaking wrongly or wrongly treating another that the bible allow us to do. Then from there it you have to realize why you were called out at least by me had nothing to do with the fact you disagreed with me.

I called you out as a couple others have done because of your name calling and sarcastic way you spoke to me, as I have had a few others that have disagreed with me that never stooped to doing what you have done. They still kept it friendly and respectful even with the disagreements. Then besides that I would appreciate it if you would stop the false allegation of saying working for or working to earn salvation that I will repeat for the 100th time that I do not preach on. What I preach on is the works that come from Jesus righteousness through us by the fruits of the Spirit, that the bible makes very clear that if those fruits from the Holy Spirit are not evident in our life (actions/speech) then eternal life does not abide in that person !!!

He claimed to be christian at one point in time.
Christ said He had a peculiar people.
We are told to shun the very appearance of evil.
Do you really think any of that applies to obama?
Did you vote for him too?

First you are not to just up front and shun a person, as the bible shows you are to give Gods word to everybody.
If they chose to accept it or not then falls on them, but the bible does not from this point show to just go and show hatred and belittling of the individual.

Lord Jesus says you are to continue to show love to all people, including our enemies, and He says pray for them and do good to them.

The shunning that you are speaking of when addressing a brother or sister in the faith that continues to be sinful in their life, and after you have followed the steps of calling them out they still refuse to listen and give up those sinful ways. Then you are to shun them.

Then no I did not vote for Obama and I did not vote for Romney either, as both of them I did not like and I don't believe in voting for the lesser of two evils.

With that being said just because I don't care for him or his policies does not mean I have the free will to just jump all over him and belittle the man. That way is completely against how Jesus said we are to treat others !!!

The state of YOUR country is a direct reflection of just how much the Christians living there (and that includes YOU) pray for those in government! 1Tim 2v1-8

Son, you think obama hasn't heard all this before? Did that sound condescending? It should have, because that is how I meant it.
How naive can you be?
You think we should pray for satan?
How much of a servant of satan does someone have to be for you to stop trying to proselytize them?
Kenneth, there comes a point in time to recognize that someone has made up their mind. obama is doing exactly what he wants, to who he wants, the way he wants to do it. His heart is hardened, his ears uncircumsized, and his conscience seared as if with a hot iron. He is a devil and he is one by choice.
He has claimed to be a Christian, but he also admits to being muslim.
Not supposed to shun someone? Have you ever read the bible? No? You should. You wouldn't make such silly statements.
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

My gosh..if you go retro and begin to honestly look at all of our Presidents, you just might be shocked. Just because Kennedy was a catholic did not mean that he is a bonafied holy spirit filled CHRISTIAN. Franklin Rosevelt had a mistress, while in office. They just sold one of his love letters to her, with her picture, at a famous auction house. Warren Harding had a 'love child" while in office. Even J. Edgar Hoover, FBI founder, had his private crossdressing parties near my home town here on the eastern shore of Maryland. IT is all too easy to pick the faults of others who are in the public's eye. I don't sit around and marvel and wonder if so and so was a CHRISTIAN or not..that is NOT my mission, nor yours.

Well I think I will stick with what Jesus said to love, bless, do good, and pray for others, over what another person says when it comes to how to treat others;

Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Did I direct that post at you or call you by name in it? Seems to me your convicted about something as everything I write you assume it is directed at you......don't flatter yourself Kenneth.....really!

But I suppose if the boot fits..........

No not convicted at all as I was just pointing out to know the difference between judging and the rebuking/reproving of the brethren we are allowed to do by God's word.

Fruits of the Spirit will be noticeable in a born again believer by how the walk, talk, and treat others verbally and physically.
Lord Jesus is the one who said if these fruits are not produced they will be cut off and burned, not me.....Matthew 7:19, John 15:2
