Are we allowed to buy or sell on the sabbath?? Can we eat out on the sabbath??? Are we allowed to cook- prepare meals on sabbath??? Any help?
Let me ask a Question First.
Who was that Law written FOR ? ? ?
Exodus 35:1-4 (HCSB)
1 Moses assembled
the entire Israelite community and said to them, “These are the things that the LORD has commanded
you to do:
2 For six days work is to be done, but on the seventh day you are to have a holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Anyone who does work on it must be executed.
3 Do not light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day.”
4
Then Moses said to the entire Israelite community, “This is what the LORD has commanded:
Now How many days a week is a Christian supposed to Honor the LORD, and Worship HIM and only HIM ? ? ?
Every day for the rest of your life.
Ephesians 5:1-2 (HCSB)
1 Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children.
2 And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.
Ephesians 5:17-21 (HCSB)
17 So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
18 And don’t get drunk with wine, which ⌊leads to⌋ reckless actions, but be filled by the Spirit:
19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music from your heart to the Lord,
20 giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
21 submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.
You see, that is the Worship Command for the CHURCH, without a specific day attached to it, limiting to a specific day.
Romans 14:4-13 (HCSB)
4 Who are you to criticize another’s household slave? Before his own Lord he stands or falls. And he will stand. For the Lord is able to make him stand.
5
One person considers one day to be above another day. Someone else considers every day to be the same. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind.
6
Whoever observes the day, observes it for the honor of the Lord. Whoever eats, eats for the Lord, since he gives thanks to God; and whoever does not eat, it is for the Lord that he does not eat ⌊it⌋, yet he thanks God.
7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.
8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
9 Christ died and came to life for this: that He might rule over both the dead and the living.
10
But you, why do you criticize your brother? Or you, why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before the tribunal of God.
11 For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to Me, and every tongue will give praise to God.
12 So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
13
Therefore, let us no longer criticize one another. Instead decide never to put a stumbling block or pitfall in your brother’s way.
You should be able to see that the LORD HONORS all of us that are Sincerely LOVE and HONOR HIM.
So if you think you should Keep the Sabbath Law do it wholeheartedly, while I think I should consider every day alike. God will honor both of us, because of HIS GRACE. Do what your conscience tell you to do. While I have the freedom to go shopping on after my worship service.
