God promised eternal life on condition of repentance and putting into action His commands.

20 I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.
Acts 26
no sir

only the blood of Christ washes away sin

we cannot maintain a life pleasing to Jesus without the Holy Spirit so everything...EVERYTHING...comes from God and flows back if it is His. life is complete IN Him

at this point I begin to understand why people get so nasty in the works thread. I am getting fed up myself with the way you twist scripture and try to make it seem like your feet don't touch the ground when you walk. even Jesus had to have His earthly feet washed and He humbled Himself land washed the disciples feet!!!

we do not repent and then God judges whether or not our works are worthy of salvation so that we can keep it!

are good works what might be described as the 'duty' of believers?

Bible study, attending church regularly, giving from our resources, mission trips, loving our neighbor?

we understand that not only are certain things acceptable to God but we have actually been CREATED to do them!

so it might behoove us to understand what actually are/is what God has in mind

we have to understand the language of the day...to walk IN something, means to engage with your life

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1

so while the idea of being good little boys and girls may have a certain appeal..especially for those who pride themselves on good behavior...that is not the point OR the meaning

SO

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus Colossians 3:17

God help us! people really and truly do not understand how to be saved, what it is and the fact that GOD keeps us by His Spirit

Hi seven,

I did think I should include the cross and the blood washing us, because someone will pick this up.
Thank you, you did. It is the problem of writing summaries, people read in or miss out what they
want. God bless you sister in Christ.

I have the distinct impression you have take the opportunity to strike at people in the 'Not by Works' thread that you argue there with on a regular basis

I don't post in that thread but I sometimes take a look at it

pretty cheap thing to do IMO

apart from that, you are putting words in people's mouths

no I don't have you confused with someone else this time

I'm not going to address these jabs you have made, they are obvious and don't help you out one bit
I guess I should say thank you, And you were correct in your assumptions.
Working faith is not allowed folks, EG has spoken :):ROFL::ROFL:

Here is another liar, who preaches law. Yet continues to bear false witness, then laughs like is is something funny. I guess peter loves his sin? Its funny one of his buddies asked anothe rmember if he enjoyed his sin, Peter here gives us an example of what it looks like to enjoy your sin.. Maybe mr gardner needs to ask peter why he enjoys his sin??

For everyone else who reads this slanderous remark let me set the record straight

EG believe TRUE faith works.

So if truth faith works, then the only type of faith there is, is working faith.

But peter thinks I believe otherwise. And for those of you who have followed our converstaions since this person was peter jens. He will call me a liar here too. Failing to admit once again he is a sinner, and blame shifting.

Why is WHY I have him on ignore..

I shared the 4 spiritual laws, a classic presentation of the gospel of Jesus and redemption.
well I was too young for that but I know of it through someone trying to save me even though I was already a believer

I pointed to the wrong picture...as a kid...and voila...I was going to hell.

man I was confused for days! thankfully God straightened me out...in my heart...by His Spirit

I understand you so much better now

I was a kid and didn't really understand this picture and I pointed to it

if a person is a believer, God will have the proper place in their heart even if it takes years

I wonder how many self righteously pointed to the 'right' picture and God saw them pass up an opportunity to actually get it right?

when I look back, I can see my 'interests' being directed by Christ whether I knew it or not

you guys are just so mixed up and so legalistic and judgemental

you are making little yous and not followers of Christ

I wonder sometimes, how long does one have to share in forums before people say,
Amen, thanks brother, rather than you need to put all the theological points in case it
is not exactly right, just approximately right.

But I am fine expanding, it just takes time, God bless you

Ok. Let us put this simply. The concepts of coming to faith are not that simple.
The 4 spiritual laws are simply an aid to put the concepts in a particular accessible way.

As evangelists no one is making little yous, it is a way of leading people to Christ.
So who are you calling legalistic and judgemental, and over what?

Thanks Dan,

You guys cannot see a good work done in the Holy Spirit is an eternal gift of Christ to another
individual. We are literally just the vessel of Gods good works of grace and love to the world.

You do not see we are perfected, pure, holy Gods Kingdom on earth to the praise of His glory.
Everything God is doing in us, is wonderful and brings glory to His name.

No wonder you devalue His work in your hearts and His experience of the Holy Spirit working
in power and authority to bring about His purposes. You think this is self justification before
the throne, rather than His love being expressed to His people and to the world.

Praise God He give light to His people and His ways.
Thank you Jesus, Amen

10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
11 We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.
12 We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
Heb 6

10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully
12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
Col 1

not accusing

just wondering

next time you put on your evangelist outfit, make sure the tassels are not tangled

your 4 LAWS LAWS LAWS LAWS

created fear and doubt in a child that loved God

she thought God did not love her back cause she was not PERFECT all the time

Jesus said to allow the children to come to Him. unformed minds and all

I am stupid, a fool for Christ who hopes people will repent of their sins and put their
faith in Christ and follow Him into eternity.

I believe Jesus gave us this command

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matt 28

Have I upset you? Is there something you do not like about witnessing ones faith?

Funnily you are commenting on me responding to believers saying all the works of believers
are rubbish and not worthy of anything.

So I am not condemning people, I am praising believers giving right and proper worship to
God. Or do you also not believe anyone can bring praise to God that is something He takes
delight in?

10 We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!
2 Cor 4

This is not works salvation, this is actually loving people because you believe it
is better someone knows about Jesus and goes to have eternal life rather than eternal judgement.

So my dear sister, what can I witness in Christ? No testimonies, no good works.
Maybe no bibles, no church, no activity, no life.

Sounds a bit like "I hate church" without saying it, God bless you

YOU are praising believers giving right worship?

you have truly revealed what is in your heart for everyone to see

the more you say the worse it gets

I honestly did not know how bad off you are

So my dear sister,
I am not your dear anything. yuck

I have not read those things in other threads so while I did not agree with everything he wrote...but at times thought he was kinda off...I did not know how bad off the ideas were

oh don't worry about the slander

if it is slander, we know where it comes from.

this dude has pretty much slandered his way through this thread

I never buy smoothies who smile all the time anyway

you know, as Christians we are called 'living stones' which I think is a beautiful metaphor...we are supposed to rub off the rough edges and fit together

but then we have the sword of the Spirit so we can wield that to extract truth...truth whether bad or good

it's a shame when someone uses that sword by misappropriating the words that are truth and life and uses it to hack off body parts that belong and are still learning to fit in...which is God's work by His Spirit

Hi Sister...
It is refreshing to see how you discern , I am not really good at noticing things from people who smooth talk and mix it up with niceness but really it is like a form of flattery , but the more it is pointed out , the more I see it...

You do not let anyone pull the wool over your eyes , like many brother and sisters in here , I am thankful to God for you all...xox...

1Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander. 2Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

4As you come to Him, the living stone, rejected by men but chosen and precious in God’s sight, 5you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6For it stands in Scripture:

“See, I lay in Zion a stone,

a chosen and precious cornerstone;

and the one who believes in Him

will never be put to shame.”a

7To you who believe, then, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,

“The stone the builders rejected

has become the cornerstone,”b

8and,

“A stone of stumbling

and a rock of offense.”c

They stumble because they disobey the word—and to this they were appointed.

9But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 10Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

I Peter 2

see? there is never correction only given by God without encouragement and hope

when someone comes along and just finds nothing good, no hope or life or encouragement but only finds fault and considers themself the higher life form?

you can question that. it is seldom from God. otherwise, open the heavens and let the fire rain down...what did Jesus say about that?

we know we need correction which the word provides...BUT always with love and hope
