Thanks guys! My surgery is tomorrow and there's a 4% chance I don't make it outta surgery so it was stuck in my head
4% ? You probably have a greater chance of not living through the drive to the clinic. 4% I mean come on man.

I was wondering when you were having that surgery. I will pray, but keep remembering 96% are really good odds. If you had a 96% chance of winning a mega-lottery, wouldn't you be willing to spend $1000 for that ticket? It's really good odds!

Since God is sovereign odds have nothing to do with anything.

I'd be nervous at 4%. Not going to lie. But all simple surgery is 1%.

I was very nervous when hubby had open heart surgery, enough so that I had to ask, "how often do you transplant valves?" Got the answer that satisfied me. "This is common surgery. He does it several times each week." AND, it was. He was supposed to go in at 9-10 AM and come out about 1-2 PM. They fooled me. He went in at 6 AM and was done before I was going to get really nervous about it. It was literally over before I knew it. No must, no fuss, and that was also the day he went from "maybe won't live" to "will live!"

What has happened to your incessant hammering on the necessity of good works?
It hasn't gone away: reread his post - do the right things and you will REMAIN saved...

Hi Monnkai,

Just wanted to say I'll be praying for you tomorrow

The verses I thought of are about Jesus not losing anyone... Sorry if I'm repeating, I didn't read the thread because it's late here.

I know that but I felt my situation was different since probably due to my aspergers I tend to question everything a million times a day. Logically or completely out of mind numbing fear
I think it is there that we are to pray without ceasing according to the mind of Christ. And remember it is the Holy Spirit and not that of our own selves that brings to our mind teaching comforting us it is by grace. The father of lies can be relentlessly accuse the brethern all day .The born again Spirit of Christ as the sword of the Spirit will cause Him to flee as it is written.

So which is it? This is the reason I started the thread do I remain saved no matter what? Or am I forfeit if I screw up?

I have read verses in the bible that's giving me mixed feelings (which is why I don't read the bible often) But I want to read the bible but my brain is so full of double I'm scared can someone give me bible verses and explain them in context supporting once saved always saved?
If you are having a problem with being exposed to the Bible, then you should not concern yourself with once saved always saved. Rather, focus on your own spiritual condition, and if doubtful, cry out to the Lord to save you, have mercy upon you, and deliver you from doubt, fear, or demonic and Satanic oppression.

Who owns a persons salvation? The person.. or Jesus?

If Jesus owns it.. and He keeps it.. then how is it undone?

Be assured and secure in knowing He never leaves

I can't give you scriptures supporting OSAS because the bible says you can lose your salvation- to have it and then have it no longer. ("But if you sin willfully there no longer remains a sacrifice for your sins.") If à christian décidés to start living for pleasure by going back to living in sin, then Christ's blood no longer covers them. They can however come back to living for God, like a prodigal son. But the one who leaves God to worship a false god can never return, ever.

It is devours the enemies not the believers. He calls them to repent, he cannot deny he has paid their full wage by the incorruptible seed as those born again.(once)

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.Hebrews 10

Again it cannot devour the believer who has passed from eternal separation(death) to eternal life.

When I was reading through the old testament I saw time and again how God brought wrath upon the enemies of His people. But I also saw how He brought wrath upon His own people when they stopped obeying Him. And in Revelation He speaks of the eternal wrath of the prostitute, and He warns "Come out from her My people or you too will share in the wrath coming to her." It is possible to lose your salvation.

For 99.999% of us here, it's really a moot issue.

You can lose your salvation, what you can never lose is God's salvation of you, for it within His purpose.

God's salvation will ensure that you finally do His will.
