I was just asking you to share how, what is Calvinism or to be more precise Reformed Theology, and what is that contradicts the bible? Do those of a Reformed Theology follow Calvin? or Christ? and can you provide your evidence. I am sure this would be very enlightening for us all.

Thanks.
phil...jimmy addressed this, and indeed we can't get an answer.
pavlov would be laughing his head off at the reaction to the word 'calvin'.
oh well.

Sola Fide!

1 question, is it impossible for you to live the rest of your life without sinning?
11 “No one, sir,” she said.
“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

I know some people debate over whether that part of John belongs in the bible or not, but if it does it seems to me that Jesus puts up a high standard. I think it's just like where he says "no one can look back" more or less. It's setting a high standard. Do I think we can eventually get to a point where we do not sin anymore? I don't know.

I would like to get to a point where I sin no more. I don't think it will happen for quite some time, as I am too weak.

If it were to ever happen, it could only be by the Holy Spirit.

Scripture says it can happen, and ibkt rheough the power of the Holy Spirit. Any one that believes that we cannot overcome not only preaches defeatism, but calls God a liar

According to John, Yes.

"If we say we (John Includes himself here. And the people of the church he was writing to. He was writing to believers, those who were saved, Not the unsaved) "say we are without sin (sinless) we decieve ourselves and truth is not in us"

John uses the "present tense" verb in this saying. He is saying if at any time in our life we say we are without sin, we are deceiving ourselves. and have no truth. So those who say they can be sinless. and overcome ALL sin are not speaking truth and are only decieving themselves.

Does this mean we can not overcome sin issues we have? No. Many can and will overcome sin issues they have. But to say we will ever be "sinless" is not to know the word of God. God did not take away our nature. We still have the nature to sin in us. We will not be able to overcome this nature 100 % of the time. as aa Christian grows and learns to "look at the spirit" They will gain victory over sin. But to say they will gain 100 % victory is false. That is why we still need grace. Because we will never get to the point we will not sin.

We not not get to this point until we are resurrected. When our old man is done away with. and we recieve our new bodies, free of sin.

So many preaching DEFEAT rather than VICTORY over sin!

who is teaching this? Like Jimmy, I do not see it. Your confusing us with licentious people. Who do not even teach defeat. They do not think they are even sinning, thats why they are not saved, they have not repented.

No one is teaching defeat. Your only trying to excuse your works based Gospel. and the only argument you have against us is that we are teaching defeat. I personally have gained many victories over sin issues in my life., as I know we all have.

the difference is we are not arrogant enough to think we will ever be sinless. nor do we believe our victories will have a deal in our salvation. our victories are a RESULT of our salvation, and the HS who is given to us.

so many focus on sin and not obeying and following GOD.

if you truly follow God then there is no room in your life, in your mind or heart for sin and sinful lust.

Sin is anything that causes you to disobey God. People sin by NOT doing good things just as much as doing the wrong things. People commit sins every day even if they do not recognize it but we have been take from under the Law of sin and death that we can not meet to the Law of the Spirit of mercy and grace that pardons us if we follow GOD and do good works for the glory of His name and keep our hearts and minds pure with His guidance.

If people are sinless upon acceptance of the Holy Spirit, if it is instanteous then what need is there for a mediator?

God does not tell us we are sinless but blameless for Jesus bears our sins and inquities in our place.

However God did not tell us to focus on our sins and how unworthy and sinful we are but tells us that Jesus died for the remission of ALL sins and to follow Him and His Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:33-39
King James Version (KJV)
33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord
.

are you more than angels, principalities, powers, or any creature that you are able to separate yourself from the love of God?

If you are NOT lead by the Holy Spirit then you are not a child of God and just deceive yourself. therefore the focus is not on your sin but following God and Seeking His kingdom and will. If you are actively doing this then there is no room in your mind heart or life for sin.

Temptation is not sin! Stop letting men cause you to err. Many false prophets would like you to believe temptation is sinful because then you will never call them out on their actual sins. Why would you rebuke them for their great evils if you believe that you sin every day when you are tempted? So they can commit adultery (or any other sin) without worry of rebuke and you will just sit back and say nothing because you believe the temptation you had that morning was sinful and just as bad as the preacher's adultery. Can you not see how they are deceiving you?

James 1:14-16
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

1 Corinthians 10:13
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Corinthians 10:5
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Our Lord Jesus Christ was perfect AND He was tempted as well, yet He never sinned. Being tempted is not sinful. The holiest man or woman on earth will have temptation, even our Lord did.

Hebrew 4:15
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Get rid of this error today and when temptation occurs, instead of giving into it, overcome it in Jesus' name and live victoriously over sin!

rebuking sin is not the same thing as judging and condemning the sinner.

If you see a person stumble will you pile stones of condemnation on them

or help them get up and overcome the snare they were caught up in?

will your words help them turn from sin or flee in shame from God?

will your words bring despair of never measuring up? Doubts of not really being saved

or HOPE and FAITH in God's promise and power to save fully those He calls?

Romans 14:4
Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

do you speak the words of LIFE of Faith, mercy and grace?

Or do you speak the words of DEATH of judgment, condemnation and sin?

which law do you place yourself under?

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
